Welcome to Canis Major

a wolf and animal rpg (role-playing game)

Canis is a writing community for play-by-post (forum-based), freeform roleplay set in a fictional dream world in the intrusion fantasy genre. Most characters on Canis are wolves; many play elements are focused around wolves and canids, but the world makes room for a large variety of other animal characters such as dogs, horses, cats, bears, deer, and many, many more.

Our community is focused on flexibility, creativity, and collaboration. That boils down to a few important features:

  • There is no set activity requirement to write
  • The setting and plot are member-created and staff-supported
  • The game is continuously improved to increase fun and decrease stress

It smelled.. Sweet. The forest she entered held a pretty view to it, though ordinary like any other. She didn't think twice until that of a sweet scent was staring to waft to her nose, as she lifted her head and took a deep breath of so. It didn't smell bad, nor' even overwhelming at the very least, but it obvious, within the forest itself. Her paws started to travel, as her nose followed the scent..

And she came to a tree. And she noticed, all around some were alike ; there was a red dew upon it, that smelled of this sweet-scent. The forest bleed, and the name Ripperwood came to her head like injected as so ; magick, perhaps. She knew but she didn't know why this place was as it was. Ordinary in looks, some would think nothing of it except for the hidden treasures upon the bleeding trees. She stepped closer in a curiosity, a wondering why a tree would produce such sweet sap, and she wondered, if it was safe for consumption.

It hadn't particularly hurt. Taurus wasn't a man who got angry, he was stubborn in his ways but never did anger touch them. So when he had driven the coyote pair from the borders of Empyrean, it had been with warning snaps, teasing words and a lazy grin. He was a big man, what did two coyotes really have on him when more often than not, they sought to flee instead of fight? Seemingly encouraged by there being two of them, the coyote pair had tried to play a little game with him. The bull had bites along his flank, a particularly lucky coyote having snagged his leg with enough wiggle room to break the surface of his flesh.

Taurus had laughed, shaking it off and deciding to kill that one first. The other had gotten away, his little friend dead and being carried in Taurus' mouth. He wasn't hungry for coyote and he wasn't about to leave it at the borders for something bigger to come along for a meal, close to the young lives of Hydra's children. He was taking it away, crimson dripping down his flank as he sauntered through the strange forest.

On their trees seeped liquid that looked like his leg and his face though only one was his own mark. It was a strange sight, almost gruesome but likely the perfect place to dispose of the little joker.

She lifted a paw and touched it — a similar feeling like any maple or oak tree that oozed. Even similar to honey that she may so add ; and assumed because of so, it was safe. Her paw didn't have a numb or pain, like a feeling when something was hazordeos. Though now her white tipped paw was sticky, coated with that red of the ripperwood sap. When she tried to brush it off — there was now dirt and grim onto her. There was even a small feather!

She would have to wash it off, but when Miriam turned around..

"Oh.." there was a man, large and firm, brown like a bear as well, except for the factor he dripped like the same trees did. The strench of blood was within the air, and she looked over into a concern, "are you alright?" he had an air of an ease, not a sign of aggression — so Miriam took that was a more or less, safe sign.

At least, she hoped.
