Welcome to Canis Major

a wolf and animal rpg (role-playing game)

Canis is a writing community for play-by-post (forum-based), freeform roleplay set in a fictional dream world in the intrusion fantasy genre. Most characters on Canis are wolves; many play elements are focused around wolves and canids, but the world makes room for a large variety of other animal characters such as dogs, horses, cats, bears, deer, and many, many more.

Our community is focused on flexibility, creativity, and collaboration. That boils down to a few important features:

  • There is no set activity requirement to write, though the game also rewards high activity
  • The setting and plot are member-created and staff-supported
  • Writing is collaborative, and so is our supportive community
  • The game is continuously improved to increase fun and decrease stress

Empyrean
She was getting older ; and was already old. Was this around her sixth cycle? She was near at the end, feeling her old joints was no longer like how it was once. Most, if not all of Empyrean was younger then herself and she felt the newest generation growing faster.. As she was growing slower by the day. At the very least with her daily excerise, the creaking joints wasn't as bad as it could've been. She was still relatively healthy and could still hunt, guard, and run all the likes.. Just couldn't compare to some, like @Taurus, much less @Hydra.

It seemed like many who returned were.. Younger, but not herself. She wasn't really sure how to feel about that, as Desdemona wasn't jealous — but she felt her use was coming to an end. She didn't want the luxury of the life an elder, and felt her contributions were so little compared to others that it simply felt.. Wasted. But as days go by, she truly felt like an elder.

Soon her seventh cycle, will return. She walked near the tops of the mountains.

Adventurer
Another walked near the tops of the mountains, but unlike Desdemona, Scorpius still felt like life had just begun.

And of course, it had, and of course, this meant he would live it to the full! He had grown into himself in the last seven months, and while his paws were still a little too big for his body, Scorpius felt steadier than ever on the switchbacks carved into the mountainside -- and perhaps a little too confident on them. He liked to say he was simply self-confident, though he had heard that others attributed this to his still too big head... but he knew they'd realize he just needed his body to catch up with his brain, so what could he do? He had the recklessness of a teenager and his years were meant for living. So as the path he had chosen to follow today narrowed out to give way to a swath of scree, he tested the rocks to see if he could skirt his way across, taking note of the trickle of stones he sent down the mountainside but not really letting that make his decision for him yet.
