Welcome to Canis Major

a wolf and animal rpg (role-playing game)

Canis is a writing community for play-by-post (forum-based), freeform roleplay set in a fictional dream world in the intrusion fantasy genre. Most characters on Canis are wolves; many play elements are focused around wolves and canids, but the world makes room for a large variety of other animal characters such as dogs, horses, cats, bears, deer, and many, many more.

Our community is focused on flexibility, creativity, and collaboration. That boils down to a few important features:

  • There is no set activity requirement to write
  • The setting and plot are member-created and staff-supported
  • The game is continuously improved to increase fun and decrease stress

The world was twisted and turned, as the sky above moved and shifted as if the Gods themselves were wielding the stars. Though no one truly knew what was happening, surely not to the wolves and creatures below that stared above within the night, wondering what was happening to this world they were led into.

Among t that disarray where the bridges to the other world — a portal, that went through time and space and sought one, to another land altogether. An unknown entity, and some brave solves ended into them and disappeared across one biome, to another altogether — but those who knew them, wouldn't know until they meet them again.

Yet a day went by, where one seemed to awfully unnerving. Unusual as it was — blitzing and shocking just lightly, like one of the constellations above whenever it roared ; thunder was there. But it was not moving, nor' a being like above.. Just an unusual door within an area, bright and noticeable to anyone that would see.

Beware though, for something is not right.

Alone in the ruins, Sam had just finished eating a fat rabbit she'd caught underneath of a pile of bricks. Satisfied and happy, she wandered about, finding solace in digging among the roots and exploring the derelict buildings.

Things had been quiet for Sam for some time after her run in with the pack further north. She was no longer tormented by that strange heat in her loins that had driven her here. Packless and without family, she was not sure what she should do with herself. Still, these small moments of content were all that she had ever wished for. She was not pretty or smart enough to expect more, she figured.

As Sam approached one of the buildings, she saw a doorway and felt strangely drawn to it. It seemed to flicker, like pale starlight in the morning sky. Curiously, she wandered toward it, tilting her head. She wandered if it had something to do with the storm that night. “Weird.” She said to herself. With some hesitation, she moved close to it, and decided to walk through to the other side.
