Welcome to Canis Major

a wolf and animal rpg (role-playing game)

Canis is a writing community for play-by-post (forum-based), freeform roleplay set in a fictional dream world in the intrusion fantasy genre. Most characters on Canis are wolves; many play elements are focused around wolves and canids, but the world makes room for a large variety of other animal characters such as dogs, horses, cats, bears, deer, and many, many more.

Our community is focused on flexibility, creativity, and collaboration. That boils down to a few important features:

  • There is no set activity requirement to write
  • The setting and plot are member-created and staff-supported
  • The game is continuously improved to increase fun and decrease stress

There was very little concern to be held for Taurus as he lounged, fresh after a patrol and a little scenic trip from the territory. From his position, strewn out on his side amongst shallow grass in a clearing, the bull could see the dark clouds where they loomed in the sky in the distance. Never did they seem to draw near and the continuously spiked in different temperatures but he seemed unbothered. It was clear that other animals were nervous, he could hear them mulling about whereas otherwise they would be relatively docile in their grazing and day to day activity. Now? Animals bayed, cawed, cooed and whatever else in the distance.

His ears constantly twitched and roved to the sounds, his forest green gaze lazy as he grew drousy. Nature was nature and what could he do? Not yet was it drawing near and there was little to do but watch and wait. His patrol had ensured nothing out of the ordinary on the border barring some animals confused in their movements but little else was different.

So he lounged, watching curiously. ^^

There was.. Strangeness, to this land she found herself in. She didn't really remember how she walked to the forests, surrounded by mountains. Well, in fairness there wasn't a true direction, she stormed somewhere in anger and unknowingly altogether entered a whole new realm once she fell down a rabbit hole. It didn't matter too much regardless, as she had no intention to go back. They threw Orlaith out like the wind, why would she ever return to those bastards? If she saw any of the damnable elders within these wilds, there was a chance she'd fight them.

Though anyway, there was a storm. A storm that looked to be coming and yet — never came. She took cover for it the other day and politely was waiting within a cave for it to roll over, but only the wind lightly touched the air around as a humidity came through. But the storm itself never seemed to leave, simply.. Staying over beyond, like it was waiting and watching. She thought about actually going over there and looking, but for once her conscious thought it was a bad idea. Her own instincts said to leave it be ; and she trusted that.

Orlaith would prepare when it came.

But it seemed she wasn't the only curious one, as there was a man within the distance also looking at it.
