Welcome to Canis Major

a wolf and animal rpg (role-playing game)

Canis is a writing community for play-by-post (forum-based), freeform roleplay set in a fictional dream world in the intrusion fantasy genre. Most characters on Canis are wolves; many play elements are focused around wolves and canids, but the world makes room for a large variety of other animal characters such as dogs, horses, cats, bears, deer, and many, many more.

Our community is focused on flexibility, creativity, and collaboration. That boils down to a few important features:

  • There is no set activity requirement to write
  • The setting and plot are member-created and staff-supported
  • The game is continuously improved to increase fun and decrease stress

Out of the Tundra once again, Thalia moved South but this time to the East. Away from the coast and into newer lands she had not yet seen before. The mountains cleared to what she could assume was grasslands. It was far less interesting to her to see than the treacherous peaks or blistering colds of the North, but she could see some… beauty here she supposed.

Especially in the golden glades with the sun rising over the horizon, casting the grasses and her own pelt in a glistening gold ray of light. It was strange, at least to her, to find herself in such an etherial looking place. Normally she would find herself in more dreary, dangerous places to the point she was almost on edge just walking in such a peaceful place like this.

Birds sung in the branches of the trees while the morning dew painted her paws and legs in a light dusting of water. “Where the fuck did @Pike go anyway?” A passing thought as icy eyes glanced around for the strange guy.

Though a storm brewed within the distance, it still did not phase the beauty of the golden showers. Within every sunrise and sunset, she would not miss what was brought to the Golden Glade. Washing the world itself into it ; she pondered, what could glossen the world to so. Was it the shinning of the leaves itself, or simply the angle on which the small glade was to be? Uriel didn't think it was a forest, not by how sparse it was with it's shrubbery.. But it was home, for the meanwhile. She didn't see anywhere else to settle, and grown to like it's view.

But she did not hold true territorial might over it. There was a non-protective streak, and if anyone else had settled to so ; perhaps Uriel would welcome them warmly. She'd just hope that a pack would not venture over and decide it was time to choose this place. Already once she was removed from a forest, though in kindness, that kindness may not be repeated.

As the birds chirped and the fauna crept away with each step Uriel took, her ears flickered to the sound of another. A voice of passion but a curious disgruntlement. From the shading of a lone tree did she appear, curiously dipping her head to one side to the sighting of another. A red woman, though she smelled of the north in particular, "are you looking for someone?" she asked, to their previous wordings.
