Welcome to Canis Major

a wolf and animal rpg (role-playing game)

Canis is a writing community for play-by-post (forum-based), freeform roleplay set in a fictional dream world in the intrusion fantasy genre. Most characters on Canis are wolves; many play elements are focused around wolves and canids, but the world makes room for a large variety of other animal characters such as dogs, horses, cats, bears, deer, and many, many more.

Our community is focused on flexibility, creativity, and collaboration. That boils down to a few important features:

  • There is no set activity requirement to write
  • The setting and plot are member-created and staff-supported
  • The game is continuously improved to increase fun and decrease stress

Their mother was off in a hurry away from their dens and usual meeting ground to go crying and calling out for Edith who had gone missing oh so recently. Was she truly missing however? She was just here a few hours ago like any other day, were they not old enough now to wander a little further and explore the world around them or were they still bound to Elkshire's lands and nowhere else?

Frankly, Edith wasn't any of his concerns wherever she went. She would appear in due time and would be smothered by mother yet again as the favourite. Once again Aldritch sat as the good boy he sought to be - though no longer wanting to be the favourite of her children or anything near, to not be appreciated for his good will and desires to follow in the High Elk's preaching and not wander off like @Maral or @Edith... well, it was insulting.

While their mother ran off to find the barely-missing child (in his opinion), he remained seated while eating whatever bits were hidden away in their caches. He was a scrawny young man already, the teachings of @Remus had left lasting scars on him such as his puppy fat already being eaten away by eating less than most.

He didn't have to after all.

He was better than begging for scraps from a wolf instead of having faith in the High Elk that food would eventually find its way to him. With enough patience he would be rewarded... and that was what mattered.

So @Célnes's cries would go ignored as he focused on his own teachings. Maybe this was a good time for him to explore beyond Sleeping Doe's Range and see the world just as his siblings did already... at least, while mother was busy looking for the more favoured children.
