Welcome to Canis Major

a wolf and animal rpg (role-playing game)

Canis is a writing community for play-by-post (forum-based), freeform roleplay set in a fictional dream world in the intrusion fantasy genre. Most characters on Canis are wolves; many play elements are focused around wolves and canids, but the world makes room for a large variety of other animal characters such as dogs, horses, cats, bears, deer, and many, many more.

Our community is focused on flexibility, creativity, and collaboration. That boils down to a few important features:

  • There is no set activity requirement to write
  • The setting and plot are member-created and staff-supported
  • The game is continuously improved to increase fun and decrease stress

come meet the bear, cowards

She had to admit, that she had no clue of the inner workings of the Elkshire pack, despite creating an alliance with their leader. More than this, she had no clue if they even had a healer.

She chalked this up to the fogginess her brain had after having cubs, too busy focusing on keeping them alive to think of anything else. But now that her daughters were older, she could focus. A bit, at least.

A bouquet of spring flowers were held in her, Siilgit, and Ts'iwaangit's muzzles: coneflower from the Crag, comfrey from the Wisterian woodlands, daisies and dandelions from the Range. A perfect bounty to greet their neighbors with.

She could feel it, anyday now. Her stomach was not one of but simple over-eating and yet, continued to nearly starve herself to a skeleton mass. To ignore the obvious was to be true, and the hope to be lost at the thought. But she couldn't push herself to do it, as now it was far too late for any medicines to fix, and if anything.. She had somewhat of a heart, as dark and empty as it was, not even she was so heartless to try when the term was so close already.

But yet was on a path of destruction, as she did little. If anyone asked, the Queen would deny wholeheartedly. She tried to hide her stomach, and away from anyone if possible ; not wanting the shame to be so noticed. A whole-heartedly ignoring, and she just didn't have the heart to do more for now. But with days in the den, hiding from the world itself, she was growing restless and stuffled..

And finally emerged out her den, and wandered through ; hearing the sounds of the bears in the distance.

quick post

She wouldn't admit to herself or her cubs that she was lost, but she was. She had kept her distance from the pack's core for a reason, but felt that she had stayed long enough to break that down, somewhat.

The sound of footfalls close by attracted her attention, and quickly she turned to the sound, seemingly chasing after it, her daughters in tow.

Bears and wolves were very different ; the sound of a bears footstep was often forceful, the crunching was louder and less delicate. But they were fast, even if you heard them through the forest you may not even make it out ; because they would come with a vengeance. She was startled to hear such crunch resounding through the forest, that she quickly turned back in a startled —

but fell over in that second as well.

“Célnes!” She called out, dropping the bundle as she rushed over to the Elk Queen only to— “'La̱!” she gasped, seeing the strange curve of her belly despite her rail-thin form. Behind her she could hear her daughters' nervousness as they picked up after her, keeping their distance as they sensed their mother's anxiety. “Célnes. What are you doin'! You're —” she grunted, frustrated and angry. “You need to eat.”

"I'm fine," she assured while gently moving up ; feeling the difficulty of turning and moving as a belly was growing upon her. Ignoring such a fact though and was like a forceful moment as she rose up and brushed some of the debri of the woods off of her pelt with a quick shake. Celnes doesn't get startled often, but she supposed with her mind elsewhere it seemed easier.. At least, that was what she excused so.

"I ate something earlier today," small though, the size of a mouse and even less — but that was enough. She smiled lightly, appreciating the bears concern.
