There was the freedom, of being finally free. A silence that hung over, something so unfamiliar to Emberfrost that it felt too peaceful to be true. The thoughts that plagued her, the voices that whisper — whoever it was, taking control and doing otherwise she didn't, want to do. Inside would she weep, a begging to stop and to please, let her be free. Only near the end did she finally understand that there was someone else, someone she was unaware of, and yet was the same voice that whispered in the back of her mind, to what she 'could' do.
The cat doesn't remember her last moments, but she remembers she did 'die.' Was she killed? Did she simply pass away? Did she get sick? She knew of her life, a distant, and lonely cat — someone that held a fear to what those voices would say, or do. She wondered what the 'other' part of her had said.. Yet the head that once shared a space, was now in a bliss of emptiness. She couldn't hear it, she couldn't feel it..
Emberfrost laughed, tears running down her face as she laid within the grass. Relief so flooding that it couldn't be contained. Her chuckling slowly descending to sobbing, her cries echoing within a silence.. For a freedom she never felt, was finally upon her.
How for once, she could enjoy life.
A new relaxation, a comfort swarming over as she rolled within the plains, only hearing herself, and no one else. How she could play the days away, and smile without a thought of harm — finally.. Finally — !
She could be someone she always dreamed to be.
