it was now that she began to feel comfortably far from home, though she wasn't as fond of the cooler temperatures. that was her fault, really. she could've headed east. but mostly she wanted to stay along the shore, and it was said that the land went on forever in the eastern direction. not a real sort of forever, but enough for the clan's elders to call it forever, and mei doubted she could walk that far, or try to disprove them. and so she came here. when she looked to the east now she saw an expanse of mountains, and lucky she had ended up somewhere that was surrounded by rock walls, which gave her a feeling of security even if there were some entrances to the quiet little strip of beach here. she wasn't sure if this was where she had gone to sleep last night, but she had no feeling of being taken by the water, and woke up feeling healthy. perhaps the grogginess of her travels was getting to her. whatever the cause, she had little reason to question where she was now. instead she set to work hunting for crab in the low waters, if she caught something it would be a bit of work to remove the shelling but the meat was a delicacy. she just hoped the marine life wasn't too different here, because she hadn't spotted any yet- but xiaomei was patient. mother always said she who hurries cannot walk with dignity.

Vendrussel once visited this place — she tried to see quite a few lands around the coast, though it seemed endless and could go no further. Prophesied, she was bound to her slithering serpentine land full of jagged rocks and rapid tides. An isle which any beauty would triumph another ; but alas not many could see the fords claim. Secretive, and away from the mortal eye as it becomes hidden away between the rocks. The ancients, or someone.. Told her that was her destined land, and she wouldn't trade it for any other.

Yet she couldn't deny, this place was also a beauty, and relatively close. But she had trouble finding her way down on occasion, as steep cliffs hung above. It was like a crescent of sand, hiding away it's secretive beach from the world itself. A beauty within white, a calamity of a vacational variety of the coast compared to the bleak beach of the brim that brought only fog. Here, within Whisper Key, did it seem like the sun never ended.

Cold though, not something she was foreign to, but it was leaving as the season was soon to embrace spring.. Just another season, without war waging upon the coast and not within a minds thought. There was a wolf within a distance, not one she knew that came from the cost like Even Horizon or Northfall.. Yet she smelled heavily of the sea. 

Vendrussel approached with a curiosity, "Are you hunting?" she was not foreign to hunting crabs.

it was too easy to get lost in her focus, she found. perhaps that was a good thing because she was quite intent on keeping her eyes peeled, but her concentration was broken by the voice of a woman who admittedly had managed to sneak up on her. when mei turned to look at her she was first assaulted by her beauty, which was dark and alluring like the tales of orca whales coated in black and white. blue eyes like the sea. xiaomei knew she was a beautiful girl herself, but it was easy to get jealous when there were women that looked like this. that impression was all wrapped up in just a milisecond before she responded. “trying to. looking for crabs.” xiaomei's voice had the slightest hint of an accent, well-concealed by her own efforts. this woman did smell like sea salt... “are you from here? honestly, i am new. and i do not know if this spot is good for the crab hunt.” a slight little smile, she hoped the lady would be kind enough to offer advice if she had any knowledge on this area. at least to point her in another direction if the crabs were scarce here.

"I live nearby." She was a sandy girl, tinted within roses of creams that reminded her like the morning of the ocean, just before the blue turns to the sky itself. She was a freckled girl — if Vendrussel had to assume they were relatively around the same age, yet the other held a charm of a child, that seemed bright ; and cute aesthetic to her nature. Overall, though, a rather pretty one. She smelled of no one familiar, the only scent the dragon could tell was from this beach overall.

She looked around, "Yeah," anywhere was a good enough place to find crabs if they tried enough. Rocky shores tend to be the best, she noticed, yet it wasn't impossible to find them. Vendrussel approached to the shore, as the waves gradually went in and out in a calm fashion. The sound of seagulls. A caution of blue rising to the cliffs that hung to the background — it wasn't easy to come down here, and wondered what path she had took.

As the waves came through and receded back to the ocean, the sands itself darkened from the water, and yet.. Bubbled, slightly. Like air pushing through, and movement within the sand itself. As quickly as it shown though, it quickly disappeared and remained a stillness. But with how much the waves continued to touch the land, it was a repeated motion.

"They're the bubbles in the sand, sometimes. If you're fast enough you can dig one out." As an example to show one, as soon as the ocean revealed the wet sand, her paws went to quick work in moving against and pushing it away. As soon as she felt a connection with something solid, her claws twisting to find a grasp on the shell and wisp it out of the difficult sands. A struggle, as the beach was flying around in a messy matter — until Vendrussel dragged the little demon out of its hole.
