Our community is focused on flexibility, creativity, and collaboration. That boils down to a few important features:

  • There is no set activity requirement to write
  • The setting and plot are member-created and staff-supported

He woke up.

The world was bright.

Cold.

Snow drifted from the heavens and into his eyes as he blinked up lazily at the blinding skies.

Wiggling his toes to make sure they were still there, numb... but present.

Feeling the ground beneath blackened pads as soon as he rolled over, muscles coiled as they moved once more in the first time, what felt like within a long time.

Taking a quick look around, a cloud of white puffed from his lips as Svenn took in his surroundings. With a mischievous grin he realized one thing, this was a new world, one that he could mould to his own desires.

She felt a renewed energy, a tranquility that once wasn't there.. A vibe of peace, as the wind rusted between her fur and the winter breath taking its way. Endlessly wandering without an aim for time, a thought to think and a return to — nothing, even the bounds of her daughter, peacefully disappeared to an adventure of all her own, and Miriam, wishing her the very best, as she too, follows the call of the wilds. Partaking back to the wilderness, did all disperse, including her own self.

But she hoped, they would all meet again within this world — for it is small, after all.

Within a newfound hope, she found wandering to a beautiful place that chilled. A lake with tall trees and even a waterfall could be heard within a distance, yet guarded, but endless flora. She could hear the whispers of the magic, that the world provided — and before her, was one.

Yet he held a grin of promise, like something of a realization, she wondered. A curious maiden, looking at the stranger.

Taking in a deep breath through his nostrils, the ginger man picked through each scent that hit his senses.

There was a pack nearby that he could tell of. A conglomeration of wolves all in a certain direction, there was no doubt in his mind what that could be.

And they lingered here in these frozen lands of lush green and trickling waterfalls.

He would put that on his agenda to see who these individuals were, but for now his belly ached for something in particular. Having awoken with what felt like a hollow hole in his gut, Svenn needed food.

Turning with a swift kick of his heels, sapphire blues hit the sigh of something else possibly edible instead, of a different type.

“Ah! Well hello there pretty lady!”

He'd call out rather casually, loud enough for his travelling voice to be easily heard as he confidently strode over with his head held high over squared shoulders and a saunter in his stride.

“I don't suppose you know where a man could find some grub would y'a?”

A relatively red fellow, something she thought to be rather a rare sight. Miriam couldn't say she encountered many who were of that age and admired so ; and visibly, did a blue gaze stuck out. Though as he approached with an charisma, she noticed he was rather tall. Far then her own, and yet wasn't a largely bulky man.. But he wasn't intimidating as well, as the nonchalant attitude brought a relaxed, and gentle smile to her face.

"There are many beavers here, perhaps a hunt if you are hungry?" Soft in voice, she said to him. the area abundant with trees and a lake, a beaver home took it's place within it's bank. A private paradise for them, and yet a bounty for the predators of the land.

Coming closer he sized her up. Sapphires glancing up from her toes toward her head - which wasn't very far considering how petite she was.

“Well I must be the luckiest man alive to be greeted by someone so friendly.”

For someone to openly hunt with a stranger who he knew was never seen before or heard of before until today.

Today that would surely change.

“Beavers huh?”

Musky little things. Tricky to catch too, so he wasn't certain why that would be their main target right off the bat. “I'm always up for a challenge, let's go! Lead the way!”

In previous times, Miriam would be intimidated — there would be fear and a wonder on why doing so, and what plans on the mind. Yet a new found wisdom took it's place, meeting a prophet brought a tranquility to mind and soul. A calmness that was so unusual, she felt like a new found wolf, someone that had been enlighten. His sizing up was a continued smile, for the man didn't show any signs to truly bring a terror, just a curiosity.

"Many wolves in this land are kinder then one would think." She would take credit of being such a nice and benevolent wolf, for the many who she met were just as equally nice. Miriam cherished, such memories that had been brought so, and would not forget the brothers who also had brought a peace of mind, within a discomfort of terror she had went through. A kindness, that she hoped one day to repay.

The one before her was far different then their silence and stoicism, a newfound energy that had been a while since she had encountered. It brought the maiden a faint chuckle, as she turned around to the direction where the beavers would be ; at least, she could smell their distance.

A knowing their dam held within the lake, and she walked toward their home. Though, for a moment looked back at him, forgetting the most important, "I am Miriam, Miriam Iris Willows."

Quickly enough they were on their way wherever the flat tails were.

The young woman introduced herself as Miriam. Well, that was what he got from the long introduction.

“Svenn.” He started. “Uhh... Svenn something something rather.” He couldn't remember the rest. Not now at least. Maybe never remembering the rest would be okay too.

A new start, who was to say he couldn't be a new him?

“You know how to hunt beavers by chance or are we winging it?” With a grin he stared ahead to the path, electricity coursing through his muscles as he anticipated the rush of the hunt.

"That is a nice name," Miriam complimented as the name slide off her tongue within her thoughts. It felt suiting for him, but she couldn't explain why it felt like that. Though she wouldn't mind if he didn't remember her whole name, as she was simply raised with etiquette that it was polite to give ones whole name, then simply of her first. However she did know not all wolves were the same, and in fact some lacked a family name altogether.

"Many years ago, but i'm afraid we will have to wing it," the moon wolf confessed with a regretful smile. She couldn't remember how exactly it worked, but imagined as long as they had the element of survive, that the Horned God will guide them through this hunt, as the Goddess watches, and grants a pardon for luck.

As approaching closer, the maiden slowly dropped into a prowling, emerging into the pushes with a careful approach, as they started to maneuver closer to the beaver's dame. She could smell them coming closer, though could only pray, that some were not within the water.

“It's even better with the rest in tow.” With a certain haughty air he grinned. Full of pride in the man he knew no one else knew anything about, and yet that didn't deter him at all.

Despite his glowing pride, Svenn wasn't one to leave the woman alone in the dust. In the shadow of his brilliant self-esteem. No, he'd nudge her with his shoulder should she allow, indicating he didn't mean anything by his attitude other than simple pleasantries.

“Winging it is what I do best. We got this.”

He trotted as Miriam took her position. Svenn did his own as the ginger maneuvered around the swimming pool of the flat-tailed rodents. His belly rumbled a mighty growl. Spurring him to waste little time on this adventure of theirs.

Crouching... slithering... approaching the prey in sight.

A single glance offered to Miriam in her own position before lunging forward. Cutting through the water to herd at least one of the large rodents toward Miriam.

He was impatient, but she took note of the grumbling that came from the man ; clear signs of a hunger and no time to waste. She was prowling within the bushes, hidden and away waiting for moments to strike — though, he had other plans. With a ferocity did he go, chasing the beavers from their watery moments, most likely either picking up their own food or find debris. It was a quick fleeting, were one swiftly came to her aim.

She was glad that she had remained hidden, for the maiden roared out of the bush and grabbed onto the back of the beaver. It was a rather quick fleet in the hunt, and it just as she preferred. Miriam didn't like to suffer through the challenges of fighting, as especially she felt wrong to continue trying to take a life after all their struggles..

When all was done, and the single beaver they had gotten laid dead on the floor with a broken neck, she prayed, "May the Goddess guide you to the Summerlands."
