Welcome to Canis Major

a wolf and animal rpg (role-playing game)

Canis is a writing community for play-by-post (forum-based), freeform roleplay set in a fictional dream world in the intrusion fantasy genre. Most characters on Canis are wolves; many play elements are focused around wolves and canids, but the world makes room for a large variety of other animal characters such as dogs, horses, cats, bears, deer, and many, many more.

Our community is focused on flexibility, creativity, and collaboration. That boils down to a few important features:

  • There is no set activity requirement to write
  • The setting and plot are member-created and staff-supported
  • The game is continuously improved to increase fun and decrease stress

He was starting to grow a little bolder. While his siblings grew closer and @Calhoun was starting to bully him less and less - Aldritch began to start roaming... Slowly, day by day he grew curious to see the outside world beyond the den of which he had known best his whole short life thus far. Perhaps he was the last to find curiosity in it all, or at least one of the last as he stepped out into the lightly wet atmosphere where the once lush greenery was now decaying and growing brown with the fading light and warmth as the season changed... what was to come was uncertain, but he knew one thing; it was getting colder.

Even his breath could be seen this morning, and something white was across the ground for a moment before the rain washed it away.

With one last glance over at the den, wondering if he should just go back in to its dry and comfortable walls... but chose not to this time. Curiosity got the best of the boy this morning as he awkwardly padded away. Paws and ears still far too big for his body, every now and then he would trip over them as he walked, having little practice as he simply spent most of his days just lounging about and watching the world from within the den walls.

Without mom here to guide him, the world seemed scary and far too big. The den was not too far, he could even see it if Aldritch turned around. But he kept walking on, large warm eyes peering into the dripping leaves as some fell from their branches with a colourful, swaying display. How pretty.
