As she led @Chasm down to the beaches, paws entering away from more grassy and stone to that of sandy tides. She settled as the waves gently reached to her paws, and looked at the meek man, "Follow me into the waters, to live with us, is to swim with us," Though there was a way to reach their island witthout requiring the strong knowledge of so, Vendrussel did not mention the pathway. For it was a trial to live amongst them, and be far too easy for the other. Even then.. To reach the spire where the torii lies, would still require a strong grasp of the tides.

She slipped into the ocean banks, like a snake slithering in as her tail hovered and she padded through the sea. A look back given to him, expecting a following.

Chasm was following after the other calmly, though the bright bushy-eyed expression and friendly wave of his tail showed his excitement. This must be what it feels like to be on an actual adventure! Chasm was new to this world and the laws of life in general. Here there was no one to care and shelter him. His rabbit foot luck has been the only thing guiding him. He would be surprised to find out how cruel and tough this world can be. Something that was just never exactly conveyed in the box.

As they found themselves back on the beach, his eyes wandered over the fleeting figures of sea birds. Then she spoke to him words that took him a second to register. Oh they were going swimming, like in a beach fan service episode? It was always cheaper to buy swimwear at fall to encounter those great deals. A commercial played in his head witch a catchy tune as he watched Vendrussel go into the water. He stared dumbfounded, not understanding the point. Couldn't they take a boat or use a bridge? Even though he understood before, now it was finally registering that he was actually getting into the water. The only time he had other been in water was for physical therapy when he was younger. Even then he was held by the hands of his large friend. "Alright..."

He hesitated, only briefly as he tried to figure out how swimming actually worked by yourself. Remember the box, doggy paddle is what the bad swimmers need to do. Pawing his straps to be pushed further upon his muzzle so he hoped to not lose it, he walked into the water. The sea was cold and tickled his nerves with the flexible mass that cradled him. He continued to take one step at a time, waves slowly pushing him back and forth. Being quite small, his feet were already starting to lose headway with the sand to keep afloat. The first struggle of salt water entering the orifices of his face caused him to gasp and cough, his throat stinging. Maybe he should ask her for advice, but the embarrassment was far too great.

Though she swam in ease, when Vendrussel took a look back noticed he struggled. Down and up into the water, a fraying of coughing as his body adjusted to the sea water. All could taste that stinging in their throats, it was best to keep one's mouth completely closed and breath outwards when too close to the upcoming waves. Though, she remained silent, watching to see how well he adjusted to so. Even her own eyes always stung when diving freshly into the water, though quickly adjusted with how much she does. A smile, looking back, and a furthering as they got closer, and closer, to the destined area.

Her body heaved itself up to the land, and shook the water that stuck to her pelt. With the sea salt entertwining within her fur, she always held but a silky and luxurious touch to. Proud of her pelt usually, perhaps a perk of being a more northern coastal wolf. Except in the end, she knew not of her true lineage besides that of regular wolf, if truly was a part of any others.. Vaguely knowing, of sub-species.

As she started to climb the peak, Vendrussel looked back at him, a paw pointing upwards, indicating that is where they were to go. To the top of it, where the torii gate lies.

As Chasm truly floated into the sea, he doggy paddled, it was... quite the sight. One of great struggle that only became more desperate as the waves continued to engulf him. He decided at that point that the ocean was a greedy thing, wanting nothing but to suck him into a suffocating embrace without his consent. Not use to exerting so much strength had made this swim even more tiring and treacherous. At one point his head disappeared within the water and did not come out for several heavy moments. He was able to fight back to allow himself to break back to the surface for a desperate gulp of air in between his sputtering coughs.

He realized with horror that at this point Vendrussel was far ahead of him. He wasn't going to make it at this rate purely from exhaustion. Panicking, he tried to think of something when a tidbit of information entered his brain. Dead Man's Float. Going over it in his head a bit he proceeded to give it a try. It was tentative at first, how he stretched his hind legs back and his front ones before before letting the current carry him, keeping his head above water and doing his best not to struggle or breathe when his nose and mouth were fully submerged. A few tries in with his struggles and he got it. Taking this moment of peace before the storm for some rest. Then he would swim, rest in the float, swim, and repeat until the shore was in sight. The island was mystical to him, finding time to be in awe even at this moment as she pointed to their destination.

As he reached the sandy beach he collapsed the moment he was out of the water coughing and panting, his fur drenched, eyes red from the salt while his throat screamed for water. That was...a lot harder than he thought it would be. Chasm had the spirit and tenacity for what he lacked in strength. He felt extremely proud of himself even though it was probably something trivial for most. Fuck, where was a life guard when you need one, he was going to get Pneumonia or shit-

After some rest he stood back up on shaky legs like a newborn foal. He wanted to rest more, but Chasm felt like he had already wasted enough time here. Shaking his fur to get rid of some of the sand and water, he began to climb up to the gate. He made it up and upon seeing her, apologized. "Vendrussel, sorry for making you wait a bit. Now what?" He said with a cracked voice, still somehow looking to have some boyish excitement. Please let that have been the hardest part.

minor pp! hmu if not alright

"You did good," she said, complimenting the other. He was like a cat in water, heaving and huffing as he tried his best — and he made it. She almost did dive back for his poor soul, sometimes watching him swath beneath the waves only to resurface with a determination. He could of turned back anytime he wanted, but she mused silently while he still strove one. Shyness, perhaps, but by no means was he a coward — a true dragon in the waking! How all should be and strive forth, especially to survive in Dragonford waters.

Finally, did he arrive up to land and she motioned for him to walk toward with her. To the top, would they go, where the large torii stood imposing upon them and before the two — the rope that tied to the other island in a mysterious way. She couldn't explain what it was, for even if asked, Vendrussel never knew. Founded like so, she used it as a testing stone for those of the ability, and so far, none truly turned back. She faced Chasm, a smile to here face, though devilish to the making.

"But now you must jump from here."

Chasm shrugged his shoulders and looked away with a frown upon her first compliment. "I don't think that's how you describe one who was drowning..." He muttered in a tiny bitter voice, but the wag of his tail and the way he held himself suggested he was pleased from the praise, proud of himself as well and happy for it to be cemented by another.

He could not help but admire the view, such a place didn't feel real and these gates. Going off of the magic box these were related to places of worship right?

He didn't have much time to wander as Vendrussel opened her mouth again and said a simple sentence that made his blood turn cold. He could not help but flash her a incredulous look, shocked and almost wondering if he misheard her. "Can you, um, repeat, or explain again? I could have sworn y-you just told me to jump to my death." He said, looking somehow paler with each second passing by.

"You'll survive," Vendrussel said with a rather stoic expression and a nod. It was the truth that most, if not all who jump from these bluffs have survived. Though she knew not of those within the past.. And can especially be tricky if one was to dive wrong. However it was the cost to be with the ford, risking that temptation of fate to become one of the, "i'll find you if you don't come up," she said with a more devilish smile however. Whether it meant alive or not, was up to him to decipher.

She still was expecting him to leap.

Chasm wished oh so desperately there was water messing with his hearing or something. She spoke as if it was a way of life, as if she just asked them to go and make breakfast for the kids in an atomic style modern family. He was trying his best to process this. Was it...really worth possibly dying for? Chasm chewed on his straps nervously as he got lost in thoughts.

The main characters always have to go through life and death situations. If he was joining the main cast now risks were bound to happen until he had gone through enough seasons. He knew that and yet...this life, having a life he had never been able to obtain until now. He didn't want to lose it after all the suffering of the previous one. He had the joy of interacting and being a part of a whole world. But then again what was the point of having such a life if you're afraid to live it? If he just hid away and did nothing then he was, in a way, not living again. Right, right?!

With new conviction, Chasm had just about steeled himself for the task, until Vendrussel opened her mouth again. He couldn't help but gasp at her devilish smile. Was she teasing him about a situation as drastic as this. "Oi don't say ominous things, stupid! You're going to jinx me." He snapped, blushing due to his embarrassment around such cowardice. Taking a breath to calm himself again, he reluctantly pawed off the straps around his mouth next to the other. He gave the straps one long heavy look before facing her again. He could not bare the idea of losing this item in the dive. "If...if I die...um...please keep this safe. Er...thanks." He managed to mumble through and turned around before she could give an answer, before she could say anything else that would scare him more.

Trying not to think and just going on whims, Chasm broke off into a run before jumping as his paws met the ledge. It was truly an indescribable fleeing. To be fully in the air. Birds got to do this every day? But gravity soon pulled his body down. Quick, he needed to go through the encyclopedia that was his brain. For diving what mattered was breaking the surface before your submerged. Thats why humans dive with the arms above their head. Wait but he was a wolf- Chasm landed in the water before he could figure out a plan, paws first due to having tried to instinctively keep his feet on the ground despite the lack of it.

The water was eager for his return, dragging him far, far down. For a moment, Chasm didn't know which way was up or down. It was like a labyrinth with no walls. Such a thing seemed like it should have been impossible and yet... He pawed in random directions, his lungs starting to scream, starting to hurt and wither. The vision in his good eye was getting eerily fuzzy. This only fueled his adrenaline boost and against all odds Chasm found the surface again. He gasp for air, still disoriented as his head continued to bobble up and down. Land, he needed land fucking right now.

Spotting it, he made his way over there, repeating the same swimming process as earlier. The minute his paws reached sand was the minute he was filled with endless euphoria. He slithered onto the beach like a washed-up jellyfish and then proceeded to lay there for quite the while as he tried to recover from all of his ordeals, his vision fading as he found himself succumbing to exhaustion and into an unconscious state. His last thoughts reflecting the gentle sounds of the waves.

She didn't respond when he snapped at her, for all justice to be would result into the waves clashing to his face. A nervous man, to be expected — though one of the first that wasn't as bold to dive without a word. Most simply tended to with a courage, but he was one of the first that had fear, but did not turn back. He dropped his odd wrapping, a stretchable leather to the ground as a safe-keeping, and she could not help but pay such an oddity. He kept it on his mouth the entire time, a constraint for his jaw.. Was this not in the way of eating and drinking? Battle and so?

She would see to him to take it off if war waged on.

He dived though, rather sloppy Vendrussel thought. He was by no means a graceful swan or a beauty of a bird, for as he fell she grimaced for his paws that slammed into the waters. The larger the splash the more painful it was, and she could only image such a man feeling when he slammed into the waters. At least he seemed fine, as he came back to the beaches — unconscious swiftly as he arrived. She walked down in a slow pace to the coast of the small spear isle, watching his figure be gently carassed by the waves. Though his motioned in breathes, he was alive.

"Oh fearless," she mused, "just as the dragons should be — and shall be your ford name."

Then lay upon the sands.. Patiently waiting for his awakening.

]can be a wrap since he unconscious LOL
