She could smell them — the trace of caribou. Vendrussel licked her chaps as she held her nose close to the ground, firstly within the plains and their deep scent that came from grazing the area. She assumed they came down a bit from the snowy tundra to take a bit of the fresh grass before soon, winter would hit there as well. There was a group, and she desired for such a taste.
Being on the ocean they mostly resorted to seals and fish, as it was hard to drag anything more onto their isle itself. She sometimes brought onto caches on the brim itself for anything too large to be dragged, but even that it was rare. The larger it was the more helped it was needed, and many of the dragonford wolves tended to keep to themselves besides that of @Kei.
As she tracked the herd, she could see their footprints implanted into the snow, and prowled further, knowing she was close.
