 The tunnels were vast and winding. Well rested, Meissa had decided this morning to roam through them further. She'd offered the idea to @Flynn and he had been at least somewhat agreeable to the idea. From what she could smell, there was no infection in his injury and with the time that had passed, it seemed to be healing. Still, she moved slowly so that he could remain near her.

 “Where do you think it leads?” she asked gently, glancing through the dim gloom to her betrothed.

 This tunnel in particular felt different from the others. It was almost as if a breeze was held up ahead, rippling through the normally still air of the cave. The ground was mossy and even the rock of the walls seemed to whisper of interesting things ahead.

A'many hours, days, mayhaps even years had once-tender paws traveled over unclaimed lands. He'd tasted the heat of sand upon his tongue, lapped at forest rivers, took advantage of the hooves that traveled in herds around the plains... Now he was venturing under them. He thought for a moment he could gauge where they were based on the beating of feet that hung overhead, yet it appeared the walls around them were too sturdy; thickened far beyond his comprehension.

“I 'ave a few ideas 'o I'm not tew sure about em,” He commented to his love, eyes only slightly looking down to meet her gaze. “Do yew feel 'at breeze? Means there's an openin', guess we just gotta fine et.” However long that would take, he didn't know, but he was fine getting some official alone time with his cariad. Throwing his tail over her hips, leaning into her like a clingy Theo cat against his owner's leg.

 She paused and closed her eyes, getting a good sense of the air currents. “Yes!” she decided with a wuff, eyes wide and turning to him before hurrying her paws along, his tail now gently upon her back. She used this as a moment to press against him, nuzzling him gently before returning to normal pace, her tails curling around to flap against his flank affectionately. “I wonder how many of these tunnels open up,” she wondered aloud.

 There was a faint light from up ahead and she squinted into the distance, making a noise of interest.

 Even here, she realized, the rough stone of the earth up ahead was beginning to take on a sharper, more... what, geometric look to it? It looked like some great beaver had chewed some of the stone into place, leaving lines and gouges, instead of it being the regular drippings of water that took time. Speaking of, she also could hear the faint sound of water. Was the ground this damp earlier?
