Welcome to Canis Major

a wolf and animal rpg (role-playing game)

Canis is a writing community for play-by-post (forum-based), freeform roleplay set in a fictional dream world in the intrusion fantasy genre. Most characters on Canis are wolves; many play elements are focused around wolves and canids, but the world makes room for a large variety of other animal characters such as dogs, horses, cats, bears, deer, and many, many more.

Our community is focused on flexibility, creativity, and collaboration. That boils down to a few important features:

  • There is no set activity requirement to write
  • The setting and plot are member-created and staff-supported
  • The game is continuously improved to increase fun and decrease stress

There it was again, a tenderness that the hardened man had not been accustomed to in many lifetimes.  As she pressed her large head against his, he once again didn't move from her, not exactly sure what to make of this pleasant moment.  He almost began to taunt himself with guilt for being so soft.  Letting himself slip just this once, he allowed himself to enjoy the embrace as his posture relaxed.  For all the tact that Remus had he was at a loss.

The red eyed beast thanked him, though Remus didn't respond.  He figured It was only a sense of duty, something that compelled him to help her.

^^So, that was it, then; the russian princess of a wolf had been transformed into the body of a giant, striped feline that Agrona had never seen before. It would take some time to adjust to her new lifestyle. Her tail came to curl around Remus’ hip as she gave him the gentlest of nuzzles.

“I intend on going north. It was lovely to know you, Remus.” Agrona cooed, licking his forehead as she stood and turned, making her leave if Remus did not stop her.

Remus wouldn't attempt to stop her. He took in those strange moments, relaxing further, leaning into the terrifying beast and accepting her affection. Whatever vision she seemed to gain in the pool seemed to also give her a sense of direction, or destiny. He envied that. It seemed for whatever reason destiny called to her beckoning her north.

With one last gentle lick, that seemed to linger, Remus touched his nose to hers for a moment. He would remember those eyes, and he watched her go.

As a warrior he was always told to never be saddened by a parting. Thought he had to admit, it was hard to see her go.

Turning back to the pool Remus again dared to look upon his own image, asking himself the question of what he was to be.
