Welcome to Canis Major

a wolf and animal rpg (role-playing game)

Canis is a writing community for play-by-post (forum-based), freeform roleplay set in a fictional dream world in the intrusion fantasy genre. Most characters on Canis are wolves; many play elements are focused around wolves and canids, but the world makes room for a large variety of other animal characters such as dogs, horses, cats, bears, deer, and many, many more.

Our community is focused on flexibility, creativity, and collaboration. That boils down to a few important features:

  • There is no set activity requirement to write
  • The setting and plot are member-created and staff-supported
  • The game is continuously improved to increase fun and decrease stress

I wonder, is this the cheerlessness of this grove?

A week had gone by since she had taken up the mantle of trying to bring joy back to the Druid’s life. The joy she had so selfishly taken away from him. Twice now she would visit with gifts to leave for him to find. Flowers and trinkets she would find along the way. Pretty, glittery stones and any kind of lovely flower she could find despite the dying season that shrivelled their petals and made way for the snow to sweep further south.

Today she found a piece of sunshine for him. A large flower with bright yellow petals, so large that she had a hard time bringing more than two along with her to mountains. Carrying them carefully, struggling with her awkward height to keep their petals from dragging on the ground and ruining their beauty before they could be observed - finally the woman had made it to her destination with a light huff.

The snowflower wasn't even certain if this was helping the case at all, if it was even bringing any joy at all to @Quicksilver's day whenever he came across the little gifts she would leave. Until she was told otherwise, for now she was in a blissful state of believing it brought a little smile to his face. Even if he couldn't be hers, Reiko expected nothing in return other than for him to find that peace once more. To collect the missing pieces of himself and rebuild what had been shattered for these past few months.

Her heart still ached, yearned for him to finally accept her and take her as his bride - or even Izumi. That he would take back his declaration of choosing "neither" in the end and living a life of mournful solitude. But these gifts... it brought even a smile to her own gentle face, as melancholic as it may be for the reasons behind her actions, it still brought just a little bit of joy even to her own day. To do something for him for once.

Setting down the sunflowers side by side, she placed one of the pretty little rocks she found here in the run. Taking only a moment to gaze at them with satisfaction, she would once again be off to return home and continue with her duties. Swiftly as she could not be away from Tsukiishi for long any longer as she had done already in the past.
