Over the past day, ever since they had come here to settle closer to Aries’ pack for “safety”, she was restless. At first Leonna had chalked it up to restless leg syndrome, but something felt off. It was less of a desire to move around and feeling generally restless - but more so an overbearing pressure in her lower abdomen.

Panic settled in after a while, unsure of what to do - how to do it. The smell of this place didn’t help either, it was sickening. Not the beautiful scenery she would have wanted, but something that smelled of death. If it wasn’t for the pressing matter in her belly, she would have vomited at the smell; and yet, Leo was simply too preoccupied for the time being.

Trying to put herself in a comfortable position was impossible. She’d twist and stretch out until finally something gave. The pressure had rose to a pitch as Leonna ground her teeth together. A whine cried out, barely muffled as the pain was just too intense - the immediate thought of JUST CUT IT OUT OF ME, GET IT OUT echoed loudly in her ears.

Push, he kept kicking at the ground. Pushing the leaves as she nearly dragged along the ground, almost as if trying to run the best she would from the pain without getting up. Incapable of getting up. The efforts would drag on for a little longer, too long until finally her vision almost blacked out as the sensation lifted.

Behind her, a small little reddish body. Instinctively she grabbed the thing, licking it clean and bringing it close; and for a moment Leo had thought it was done. The second was easier as her abdomen contracted, it only lasted a moment before a second little body came out for the same cleaning treatment as the last before being brought close to her belly for food.

That would be the last.

 Amongst the misty forests and pain filled yowling of a distressed mother, a fire ball with the eyes of spring falls was born -- eyes not yet opened to the world around her, no better than her droopy ears, but soon to be as she aged. The few senses that had not been limited to the girl, however, was her sense of touch, smell, and taste -- all of which she would seek to weild after escaping the restraining caverns of her mother's womb.

 and up 'n out the young wildfire goes, using as much strength as her stubby little limbs could bare to break out of her mother's grasp -- 'I did not wait two months in the womb to kiss and cuddle lady, I want FOOD damnit!' After all that effort though, a nipple was finally found and her loud wailing ceased.

He was the last, but there should have been more.

Gemini slid from his mother's womb in the shadow of his firey sister, carrying his face and the marks of another who could have been - that brother or sister whose eyes would blink in time with his, whose breaths and life would always be his. Had he been the stronger one, or simply the one who had gotten a little luckier than the other?

If Gemini could think beyond the moment, he would probe at these things. But Gemini did not know what had happened when his life had begun; when he, with so little form, had undecidedly fused with another. All he knew was that he was cold, and that he was hungry.

And so he clambered closer to his sister, to his mother. Unaware of what troubles awaited him. Unaware of anything, really, except that mother was warm, and that every instinct said that only she could satisfy the hunger that chewed at his empty belly.

Convincing Leo to come back with him had become a battle on its own somehow. For a woman who wanted to push for some picture-perfect life with some picture-perfect husband and picture-perfect children, it had been clear that she doubted he could provide any of her desires. That fact alone was offensive, rather or not she was right or if it was what he wanted. Still, there was no helping what had been done, and rather she liked it or not he was now a part of her life.

Though he had managed to get her back to the confines of the Nightwalkers' borders, she still pressed her luck lingering where an intruder could easily get to her. Why she loathed it here so much he would never know, but frankly, right now it pissed him off too much to care why. He was starting to think after the whole "think of the kids speech" that maybe it was her who didn't care about these kids' lives. She was certainly willing to gamble for them.

It was for this reason that the firetoned brute clung to the borders, a scowl plastered to his face as he dared a wolf to cross his path now. It wouldn't be the first time he had stopped a trespasser and hell if he was going to let one in now. He had heard her first, quiet and distant before the pained whines grew louder. Aries followed the sound and soon smell as childbirth clung to the air. Another cry pierced the lingering silence, louder but higher in pitch before being silenced.

By the time he had found Leo both had already been born, the last being moved closer to feed alongside his sister. He hung at a distance, unsure if she would be quick to bite as she had before or if that stick had come out of her ass in the process of giving birth too. His gaze hung on his children, one bright with reds just like her parents, the other a strange mix of browns and greys that almost split him evenly. “Is that all of them?” The litter seemed small, but then again, he didn't have many siblings either. Maybe it was luck that there hadn't been more. They weren't exactly a stable family from the start. Less meant less trouble and frankly, he was still piecing how he felt that these children were his.

The first was as fiery as she looked. Demanding and squirmy until finally some food came to her - well that was easy, Leo sighed. Motherhood would be a strange new thing to her, but she was determined to not be one of those deadbeat mothers. Even if they were doomed to remain here with Aries in the end while she would seek out a home of her own, maybe to eventually bring them back to and away from this stench filled woods - she would do her best to be as present and loving when around. She would call this one Cancer, unknowingly following the naming pattern that her parents already began.

The next was calmer in comparison, though his appearances were strange and enough to have her look at him twice - three times over to be sure she was seeing what she was seeing. If she wasn't the one pushing and feeling every little body escape from her own, she could have sworn this was a two for one deal; and in a way he was. She would call him Gemini.

For now she rested. Feeling nothing else stir other than the feeling of hunger. Her fur was thin and coarse as opposed to the usual soft and lustrous locks that normally adorned her coat. Much of what fed her appearances had gone toward the children and preparing to care for them, even her body had done the sacrifices without her consent.

Leonna had no energy to fight with Aries today, not now as she breathed heavily to steady its rhythm. He approached asking if that was all of them and she would nod slowly in return. “Thankfully.” Glancing over at them as they fed, at this moment she was oh so thankful there was not more despite how beautiful they were.

There was no bite as Leo breathed out in relief. In the end, he would only have two kids to his name it seemed and with no aggression from Leona, he stepped closer for a better look. Upon closer inspection, it would seem he got the son he hoped for, except well, his odd patterning didn't exactly make him a looker. Maybe when he was older he would grow out of one or the other color palettes as the brown seemed to already be dominating the greys.

The girl stole his eye though with fires that danced her skin. She was beautiful, but he couldn't help but feel something stir at the thought of what attention might come her way for it. “Finally decide on names or did ya want to fight about that too?” The fireborn snorted at his own words as he took a seat before his gaze drifted to the mother that had started it all. It was a joke of course though who knew if she would see it the same.

Clean, clean, clean. She'd lick the two of them as clean as they could get, and even a few more licks which came off more as a couple of kisses instead. She knew that as soon as they would get old enough, they would have to stay while she went on to continue trying to find a more... suitable pack for her and them. If they decided to come with her when they got older.

As he asked if she came up with names already, of course she did; and no, he had no choice on the matter. “Cute that you would think you have a say in their names.” If he wanted to fight about it, this was his chance as she tossed a challenging eye toward him.
 
“Cancer and Gemini.” And regardless how he felt about those names, she would be here long enough to wean them and make sure they knew those were their names and not something he would pick... something dumb like Bruce or some shit.

Gods this woman, why'd she have to be such a loudmouth? Hadn't he done enough for her since she came to the woods for her to see he wasn't all talk? Apparently waiting on someone hand and foot isn't good enough anymore. He'd only shoot a narrowed glare her way as she dismissed his role once more, but for the sake of the kids, held back the rumble at his throat. “Didn't take ya as a square.” Leave it to the most dramatic woman in the world to follow a pattern? Now really, where did that make sense?

“At least give them somewhat of a real nickname instead of some disease-ridden thing.” His girl was too pretty to walk around swingin' Cancer. Maybe to shut someone up, sure, but not a daily basis. “Take a dig, somethin' like....Ceria. For Gemini...” He paused, a low hum vibrating in his throat as he thought, “Anai.” Yeah, real clever but whatever names on the spot were hard.

“Well I am the one who did most of the work, didn't I?” After all, it was only now was he being anything close to what would resemble a "father" figure. The least he could do was let her name the things she carried around and fed all on her own since day one. Granted she was the one who walked away first to go "adventure" but as she returned with the news, he was the one who was all flippant about it. Acting as though he couldn't care less about being a dad.

Frankly, he was confusing. Luckily for him he was both good-looking and good in bed... otherwise he'd be nothing but a bad memory. Some jerk she'd bad mouth toward the kids she'd fight tooth and nail to raise - and make sure they hated his guts. 

A pout found its way to her lips as he found "nicknames" for them. “Tsch.” Kissing her teeth at this with eyelids falling halfway down their optics. “Of course you would see star signs as "diseased".” With a dramatic roll of her eyes and a soft groan, almost defeated by his attitude, she'd give a dismissive wave of her paw. The one little victory she would let him have on the matter. “Whatever sure. At least it has some resemblace. But those are nicknames, nothing more.”

Nothing was ever good enough for her. It was a wonder that one night had been granted now he knew it had been her only time. A win none the less he supposed even if she had nothing to compare it to. He was tired of fighting with her though, she could be a bitch all she wanted, but she's the one who came back. Rather she liked it or not he would have some say in their lives. They were living under his roof.

Aries only clicked his tongue as she claimed to do most of the work, which fine, he's not going to fight her on that, but that didn't change how he felt about the names. As she continued though he could only squint with the raise of a brow, “Hah? Star what now?” Little did he know his name was more than a name, same to Taro's. They had always just seemed like normal names to him. She gave him his request, another small victory but he could move to that later.

Another eye roll was given as he was completely clueless to it all. 
Perhaps it was just Leo with her head always in the clouds, looking up with pride that helped her watch the stars and learn of their little stories. It was something… not much, she was no scholar after all but instead only dipped her toes into the shallow pool of a vast ocean.
 
She simply saw a pattern here in what she knew and liked it. It had flare, glamour to it - a rhythm and a rhyme to those who knew like some kind of “must-know” club. “Star signs.” She’d reiterate with an exasperated tone.
 
Would their children be this annoying to deal with? God she hoped not. “Are you really not aware of your name’s origins? Of its place in the night sky?” It was all just so baffling. “Seems my brilliance is lost to you, what a shame.” And she wasn’t trying to be rude despite… how it would come off. Leo was truly upset that what she thought was a clever pattern to their name would be completely lost on their father.

The woman's sass only continued as she looked at him in disbelief. He wasn't sure what she was eating but the stars were far too small and numerous to provide any real information or at least any they could understand. With a tilt of his head and mild disinterest he too would roll his eyes, “Dunno what you're on about or what it is you expect from me. Aries is a common name.” You know, if you don't count spelling but wolves couldn't spell anyway so what did he know. “Leo is too, though more so with men, so where exactly am I supposed to see how this connects to the stars?”

Maybe he was just a dumb ass, but it's not like anyone was around to tell him otherwise. Cocky? Sure. Asshole? Sometimes. The only conversations he ever had dealt with the real world or whatever was happening around him, not theories or religion or apparently signs given in the sky. That's not to say he was close-minded... it had just never really been a focus in his life before.

He was exhausting. She had just popped out a couple of kids and now he was just being obnoxious and questioning her name choices. “Are you really telling me my nickname is manly?” Oh the gall on this man! “Fine! You can call me Leonna instead. Maybe that is feminine enough for you.” Forget the whole stars thing! She was not only tired, sore, and hungry, but she was insulted as well! 

It didn't matter what Aries wanted to call them, she would name them as she wanted to and would call out to them with the names she wanted to give them. 

“I'm tired, if that's all, go away.” No matter how cute Aries was, man was he not the romantic Leo would have liked to have right about now when she felt at her ugliest. Curling up around her beautiful, feeding children, she dismissed the firebrand so she could try and forget the insult tossed her way and catch up on some well-deserved beauty sleep.

The man quirked a brow as his ears fell back, “Hah? What, no? All I said was it's more commonly a name for a guy that doesn't mean a gal can't wear it 'n still be feminine.” Lord help him was she really going to start shit over her name now? “I'll call you whatever you want me to call you, whatever saves five minutes of endless bitchin' about nothin'. I don't know what to tell you Leo. I don't know what you want from me I'm literally doing my best here but nothin's ever good enough, HUH?” Ever since he knocked her up there hasn't been a single conversation where she doesn't find something to nit pick him for. Something to blame him for. Anything and everything was because of him, but god forbid blame ever went her way.

What was that she said about him taking responsibility? Sure fuckin' funny now. “Fine. Tell me to fuck off. I could have done that long ago, so if that's what you want, god fuckin' bless. Don't come fuckin' cryin at my feet again when the world is too cold and hard for SOFT LEONNA because she pissed in the wind and drove away the only guy who'll ever deal with her constant fuckin' bitching.” He scoffed through bared teeth, his red gaze narrowing on the ball she had become as she curled around their children and ignored him. He had never claimed to be the best man in existence, but he stayed hadn't he? He cared for her, gave her a roof, and fed her, and this was all he ever got? One night wasn't worth it. With a snort, he turned to leave. It didn't matter if she called after him this time, he wasn't turning back.

While she was tired, Aries still had a few things left to say. All she could do was do her best to ignore his tantrum and wait for him to finish his little piece before storming off. All of that was so easy for him to say while it was she who had to spend weeks knowing that she was going to give birth to unwanted children without a pack to protect them, or a loving husband to take half of the workload off of her shoulders.

Sure he might be willing to do so now, but not after some fighting about it. Sure she was a little high-strung and demanding as a woman, but shit she was still young and now had to deal with being a new mom? Give her a break! So when Aries finally left them in silence, she found peace for a moment in this rancid smelling mist and took the time to sleep deeply for the first time in what felt like a long time... only waking up to make sure both of the children were still eating and safely tucked in close to her belly.
