While watching the other individuals present mingle with each other, Fergus felt the world vibrate around him. His toxic seafoam gaze drifted from place to place, focusing on everyone almost in turn. He stood on unsteady paws, stretched slightly with the popping of joints, before beginning to wander amongst everyone. He heard snippets of conversation, saw the smiles and laughs of others. His gaze drifted to the elk present, ears twitching slightly. Every part of him vibrated with the urge to chase them, to catch them, to feed upon them.
But, he wasn’t allowed to.
It was such a strange… strange concept. Why did these wolves follow such a strange thing that seemed to be against their very nature – the very logic between predator and prey? It felt almost like trying to go against the ocean’s ebb and flow as if trying to change the very tides themselves. But, they managed it and requested that others ignore their most basic instincts for a… party. How absolutely fucking weird. It made a quiet laugh bubbled from his charcoal lips.
In absent curiosity, he wandered towards the elk that crooned over the pups. His gaze lingered on the pups for a moment or two, watching their antics with a blank expression. He came to face the strange elk, with his blue eyes that Fergus had never seen the likes of before on the usually brown-eyed creatures.
”I have a… question for you.” He said, words slurred ever so slightly as they tumbled from his lips, tongue still thick in his mouth from his adventure into a peaceful revelation about the world and its ebb and flow that he – at the time – had been so goddamned aware of. He looked at the elk expectantly, waiting for his response, knowing full well that the beast could understand – and speak – the language of wolves, for he’d heard him only moments before.
