LONG OVERDUE THREAD For @"Aeri"! <3
Thread title translates to "wings"

Her travels around the mountains did not cease just yet, and perhaps that was a good thing -- otherwise she wouldn't have stumbled upon a dimension so breathtaking. Fogged with clouds and evaporated water droplets that cleared her nose in its crisp scents, Izumi raised her muzzle to breath in the sweet afternoon air as if an angel had laid a kiss upon her forehead. This heavenly place was somewhere the crane didn't see herself leaving for a while, and she was deadset on making it her resting spot until the land darkened to prepare for another day.

Dark muzzle dipping the ground, a pale tongue slipped from between her dark lips to lap up the water provided from a small stream. Dark audits flickered ever now and then to try picking up sound -- traversing unknown land always seemed to invite company after all...

Typically a cool-headed and poised man, it was unusual for Rellian to be experiencing such turbulent emotion. Though, from the outside, there was no evidence of this, aside from the speed of his eager steps. He trotted briskly, having previously been running but had to slow himself; he felt as if his heart would beat out of his chest and land on the cold dirt he tredded over. A bit of hysteria and frenzy may be expected in a wolf that wakes up in a strange land, having no recollection of how he got there, but it wasn't his emotions that propelled his feet forward. The Eurasian wolf was an expert in translating his emotion into focused and goal-directed behavior. Right now, his goal was to be away from the trees, and towards the mountains. Though the spirit of curiosity would soon invite him to explore this new terrain further, at this time he needed to ground himself with something familiar, and for him, that was the mountains.

As the brisk air filled his lungs, he began to feel the ease of a clear head return to him. He walked with self-assured steps towards the base of the nearby mountains, which were obscured heavily by thick clouds. The uncertainty about what the fog held did not slow Rellian, for he had little to lose right now. He began to formulate the objective of obtaining food as he approached the area, now that his hunger pains finally pierced his awareness. Of course his plans weren't exactly well thought-out, because the obscured landscape made it increasingly difficult to spot much of anything, especially prey. Large shadows and shapes that seemed to be alive were in actuality, just trees and other flora, so the veiled form of another wolf was hardly perceptible to him at first.

It wasn't until the thick scent of the female filled the humid air that Rellian finally slowed his pace. His head instinctively dipped low to the ground. He surely wasn't interested in making friends...but he knew that communicating with another of his species may bring vital insight into their whereabouts. Rellian was above all motivated to know how he got here, so he pushed aside his inherent desire to avoid interacting, and continued forward until the face of the other was finally revealed. Before he could formulate a greeting, the charcoal wolf found himself immediately mystified by the appearance of the individual. Her silky fur seemed to blend into the clouds themselves, and he considered for a brief moment if he was imagining the presence of the other. Could she be a mirage? a spirit? Was this...the afterlife?  The outlandish thoughts were quickly washed away by his typical cynicism, and he finally broke the silence. "I didn't see you there...am I uh, interrupting something?" The wolf offered a neutral posture, showing no interest in inciting conflict with the other. It had felt like ages since he last spoke with another, and he found himself somewhat at a loss for words.

even when the duskwraith had left her, the nightingale remained a territory unsettled.

said suneater may have indulged her, may have lain at her shoulder, and may have held the promise of return on those dark, rune-mouthed lips. but it was not enough for her insatiate soul, nor the rearing of her hedge-thorn heart; and so, when she'd seen and smelt the last of him from her mists, she bottled up the shadow of him into the more precious troves within her mind. forged fast her ever-aching everything into something certain, more cutting, and strikes out into a dawnlit hunt. watched the hares of late summer with a keen and cunning and entrapped gaze; winged for them, snared them up ( one, two, three ) and carried the brace of them to her @Aisling, the wistful @Florine, the wish-gray @Ifalna.

leaves a thankful cairn for akka. refreshes whatever set borders she's able to march tirelessly to; hoping that @Astier would be able to make do with his own.

and still she was discontent with herself by noontide.

by then, she's waded up to her thighs in one of the slow-soughing rivers, as loathe she is to wash from her the scent of solpallur. but before her eyes can shutter with the memory of how he had swayed to that reverential, age-old melody, there is the sense of ... others nearby: two, this time, and not one.

the undómiel moves, then, by way of her mists;
not bothering to rid herself of the riverwater that makes heavy the tousled, thatched fur of her sleeplessness. not bothering to let a kindly pall gentle the wariness from her lumine face, nor keep the low, vigilant lilt from her words:
"i would caution as to where you lie your heads, vaeltajia. these lands are those with a calling and a claim," though weak yet as it currently is, somewhat to her chagrin.

no yet, at the very least, aėrith supposes;
not until her following was strong, undeniable.

Izumi was approached not by the company of one, but two strangers she did not know. The first individual had approached much earlier than the other -- from behind, and it nearly startled her headfirst into the lake she'd been drinking from.

Her lilac gaze turned to meet the earthy eyes of a man. He was notably tall, though not much taller as she had been once she took the time to straighten up and look at him, and was cloaked in a series of wild augouti's with white eye shadow that appeared to make that whisky-colored gaze of his more expressive -- animated, even.

Her mouth opened once in apology, believing this to be his homeland she once thought barren, until the faint sound of dripping and a soft, feminine voice reached her ears. A sylph -- small and fine-boned with a pelt of unbroken alabaster, she resembled Reiko in a way, though this ones eyes had been the color of woven steel.

Stark.

Haunting.

Beautiful.

Suddenly feeling self conscious in the presence of two strangers in a place she just came across, ink welled ears bagan to slowly flatten against its crown. "I must be intruding then...ごめん..." The crane whisped softly while bowing her head to them both. Though for some reason it felt like the sylph had been referring to them...both?

The Siamese colors on the female in front of him were striking on her graceful frame, Rellian found himself entranced by her lavender gaze and was immediately unsure of how to proceed in this interaction. His mind seemed to be filled with a sudden vacancy. He had never encountered any wolf with such features. He stared quizzically ate her and waited for a response. The moment was interrupted by the presence of an additional figure, materializing from the most as if she was a part of it herself. Clearly both of these wolves appeared to have that in common, they blended well into the environment. By this observation, he concluded this must be where they live. He was the odd one out by far. He was the one that seemed to arrive to this place by random. His mind raced again as he remembered this phenomenon, trying to find some sort of explanation as to why. The two figures in front of him made this one feel very alien to him.

As Rellian observed quietly, considering what the new guest had said, his attention returned to the Siamese-colored wolf after she responded with retreat. This only confused the man further. A foreboding comment from a spectral figure, and the other wolf was trying to escape while speaking some kind of foreign tongue. None of this information aided in Rellian's understanding of the current setting, which was frustrating, to say the least.

"Uhm...do either of you know where the hell we are?"  Rellian said bluntly, hoping to prevent the Siamese female from absconding by drawing her in with conversation. His back stiffened and his head carriage raised above his shoulders again. His brows were sunk low over his eyes to express his concern over the unfamiliarity of this situation.

He didn't feel as though either of them were a threat at this time (though he kept his guard up), but he did see them to be potentially a great resource for information, and he wasn't going to pass that up.

[narrow width=800]her lumine face remains, for now, impassive and evened; argent eyes tracking mutely the quiet intonations of the cranewing's tongue against the walls of her mouth. an inquiry from the other  —  castiron, cowled and male  —  snags on the briars of her attention and she is forced to cant her head his way.  "i do not, thankfully,"  says she, her gaze now mediating what might've made him, made them both and brought them to the somewhat-beyond-the-threshold of her claim:  "what i will say, however, that you walk the lands of what will be frostchant.a pause, where focus swept back and forth between the pair of them, ever searching; nostrils quivering and tightening with thin breaths, scenting soon myriad on both ... yet only one seemed without a pack, and all the signs that came with it in time.

"the smell of the north is upon you both, but you have been drawn here from its reaches. is there a home for only one of you?"

and if it were so ... her eyes fall again on the cauldron male in thought and in glint-new, unashamed interest; but she would not offer anything further until the allusion of it was either reciprocated or, of course, rejected.[/narrow]
