Travel had led her further from the warm reaches of the forests, rivers, up to the much more windy and fruitless place of the Mountains. It had cost her fatigue, time, and slowed her pursuit of all things, momentarily. She merely traveled. It was almost peaceful how the loneliness cuddled her so dearly, promising her the hard work would all be for naught, how her efforts to attain family were pointless. That she was a mere grain of sand among many grains in a plane such as this. Yet where were they, now?
Her mind had gone adrift as the cold had settled into her, slipping slick claws into the undertows of her fur. At Least they had numbed her a bit inside, cooling the heavy plea from her loins only just enough for her to mindlessly walk the cold place. Grass had shivered into thinning tendrils as dawn came, replacing soil and dirt with even more cold, hard, and careless stone underneath. Zafina felt the mountains had always been much more fitting for her family, but they chose to live away from such a regal spot. The higher, the better, and the Goddess kept moving towards the tall peak who rested beyond.
Cold winds scored the swathes of pelt, flourishing her like a phantom in this unforgiving scene. A place where she felt...
at home.
