Nightwalkers
Elkshire

This thread is welcome to all Elkshire and Nightwalker members, tagging @Célnes first, @Eldra as well since she leads the group. Participation is not mandatory! Just moving this plot along so we can do other things~

^^
As the hour finally neared, Vengeance gathered up all the Nightwalkers capable of participating in the raid of the mountain and the small group made their way toward their closest ally. The mountain allies would be notified later if a second wave was necessary, but this should suffice for now to scout out the lands and see if the troublesome woman still lingered...

He hadn't seen any signs of her elsewhere, while Eldra and Element claimed to have seen her lurking within its peaks. This would be the first time for a few of the allies to meet one another, the first time that Célnes would recognize one of his followers as the pale woman who had caused them grief in her lands earlier in her formation days. He liked to think that Eldra had better control over herself now, over her impulses, and so he trusted she would not make a fool out of him when faced with the King of Elkshire once more.

Once his pathetically small group made it to Elkshire's borders, he tossed a near disappointing glance over to the gathering of bodies behind him. He would have liked to have a larger number by now than this, to be half the pack that Célnes had gathered over this time. It was embarrassing, frustrating. With an annoyed sigh he turned his attention back to the elk's woods, sending out a call for Elkshire and their residents.

Vengeance is a disgusting, terrible character. I do not condone anything he does or thinks of IC, and though I enjoy writing him, he also disgusts me often. He is a villain and nothing more.

Elkshire

Remus was sitting nearby, patrolling the high grounds of their borders, always within an earshot of @Célnes, until he heard an unfamiliar call.  In fact most things where unfamiliar to him, but nonetheless he was duty bound to monitor all possible threats.

Remus made it to the edge of the borders of Elkshire, looking down from the rocky crags nestled above the canyon fertile basin below. Looking to the open lands he saw a group waiting.  He only recognized one of the wolves from before, recalling the instance where a threat was warded off before he could arrive.

Remus made his presence known, returning a howl from above, before picking his way through the rocks to get within better earshot of this unfamiliar group.

And so the familiar calls were heard, and the Queen emerging from her shadows. The throne she sat was the steps of her rule, and there she lay regularly, awaiting for anything new. Often does the days go by with nothing, and something at the same time. The emergence of plain walkers decreasing, there was not the abundance of divine deers. Though her devotee self may shake in times, she knew who to trust in the end - only herself. May the High Elk forgive her sins of greed, but Célnes in the end.. Would be forgiven, as she always believed she would be.

For the sake of the Deorwine wolves, and their reign in this forest, she alone, will keep their name high. Religion crossed and warped to her desire, and fully will she grasp the lineage that has been alive for centuries. To her pleasure, and so the ruling will come.

Though of course, she could never be alone in this. With paws reaching and allies formed, company between the lands was formed. She heard his call, right behind Remus, and appeared so with the most pleasant smile, despite an obvious glance to those behind him, "Welcome to Elkshire - it appears you have taken my offer, yes?"

She assumed they were here to hunt the electric she-demon.

^^Whilst none of it particularly interested Morag, she knew what her responsibility was. As a Soldier, as a wolf who had pledged their loyalty to a Warlord with a purpose; it was her responsibility to stand behind him. Behind them and though she had yet to properly care about anyone in the small mass, Morag wanted success. Power, success and to invade the Earth with strength and purpose. So to do so, she had to, unfortunately, pledge loyalty to the cause and not just the man. They wouldn't be in his ranks if they were useless, she had reasoned, but until she could see their use first hand, Morag's opinion on their life being worthy was yet to be formed.

Behind the creature she walked, strides languid and easy yet her fiery depths were ablaze with awareness as she kept her ears trained on the surroundings. She didn't care, not properly, she didn't bother to want the specifics only that there was a creature that needed dealing with and that was that. Her tongue swept across her marred lips as she saw Vengeance come to a halt, his glance back was less than impressed and she jut her chin out; that wasn't directed at her. Couldn't be, in fact, because she knew she was a useful asset. Then again, she didn't know the man as well as perhaps most, so his stare could have just been ensuring his little numbers were still at his hind.

Morag stilled behind him and to the side, guarding one side with an easy silence as she watched two wolves bleed from the trees; one clearly the Deer Queen. The Queen glanced past Vengeance and to the small collection and Morag stared back, head tilted to the side as she watched. It wasn't her place to speak but she listened, to the two leaders and to the area. How interesting, she thought drolly.^^

The general moved at his warlord's hip, keeping in pace with the man without overtaking. It was clear by his station that he held power, and though it paled in comparison to @Vengeance, he would wield it with an iron fist.

There was a random woman alongside their party, one who seemed rather content to simply glance about quietly. Introductions would come later, he assumed. The ghost stood proudly as they arrived, allowing his tail to flick absently while drinking in the scenery. He had yet to visit so far out, but meeting the allies was always beneficial.

Caligula settled into position near Vengeance's shoulder, only a step or two behind. He wondered where Eldra had gotten off to, but he was certain she would show before too long.

late sorry gotta kick me back into writing

The firebrand followed as he was called, quiet and all too bored with the growing silence that sat amongst the tension. He wanted action. But of course, all good things came with a wait. Their group was small, so much was evident not just by their meeting, but now their search party as they made way to their ally's borders. Almost all the faces had been familiar, but one woman seemed to catch his eye. Compared to the two white titans, this woman was tan with darkened patches that looked almost as if her fur had been dirtied.

What stood out the most was her height. Somehow, he had ended up the shortest of their little group, something that did actively piss him off, but really it didn't matter. He wasn't a short man, but these women were just tall enough that their shoulders stretched a short distance above his own. Admittedly, there was something appealing about a taller woman. It wasn't often he found gals that weren't small little things... Perhaps that made their taste exotic.

For most of the trip his eyes had followed the newcomer, unafraid should she find his gaze. He wasn't shy after all, though when the band finally reached their destination he'd peel his attention to the borders as their allies made themselves known. Showtime.

I'm here! Sorry it took so long

The soldier followed behind Vengeance and Caligula, feeling the energy of the remainders of their numbers. The journey was long, but finally they arrived outside the Elks forest.

As howls went up, the Queen herself came after a few minutes, and the pale Amazonian stood quietly, voiceless unless called upon to speak while the leaders exchanged their own words between each other.

Only one of Celnes' guards appeared other than the King herself. He was hoping for more... but perhaps she could call the others as needed before they head out. He would like at least a couple of theirs to join his small group to head out to the mountain should the brindle backed woman have forces of her own by now.

The only one to speak was the King, all else remained silent and brooding over their own greedy thoughts as the leaders would decide on what was to do next. “No, I've come to request more bodies of yours to assist my investigation upon the mountain near by.” They would only rest and eat momentarily to build up energy they lost during the travel here to Elkshire from the mist. No more than that.

“Preferably a warrior or two and one swift messenger should we need to send a call for more if we are met with more trouble than anticipated.” He doubted the woman was able to gather enough bodies to rival his own with assistance of allies - but he would be prepared regardless should shit hit the proverbial fan.

Here he would pause, waiting for Celnes to make her decision. Only once they had the soldiers he deemed necessary for the trip would they rest and move on swiftly to the mountain to find the woman he sought for the past month and few days.

As the Warlord talked, she couldn't help but hold a gaze to the party before him. Evenly so, half was but a disgusting colorful bunch, and the other was perfectly aligned to the Deorwine aesthetics. It brought an eyebrow raise in general, a clean-cut divide between the group that she of course, favored more. Though distasteful, she still smiled pleasantly, but did let go how she viewed two of them as but animals to the slaughter, to her forest.

Eyes gradually aligned back to Vengeance, and she nodded, "@Remus is one of my warriors," a sliding glance to Elkshire Gladiator, "though perhaps @Flynn can be at service. He was not a warrior, but one of my scouts." There was thought to lend out @Ellinor as well, but as the woman seemed to have more trouble adjusting compared to other, she felt it wasn't suited. Though Flynn was perhaps her most obvious, and delightful choices to choose from. She could imagine the cousin would enjoy the adventure, stretching out his limbs, and running home, with a message to send.

There was a few others that came to mind of course, but she didn't feel they would be appropriate for the matter, that truly represented what Elkshire to be. The warrior attitude that Remus held was a power itself, and the Déorwine love that the deer prince would by obvious, proceed to give by his stature. The two would fair well just for a survey. She doubted more would come out from it, and if anything the Queen knew that they were quite close by, and easy to send reinforcements.

The help was given, as it also would bring an ease to know if the enemy was still lurking nearby.

Remus mostly kept his mouth shut and decided to passively observe the gang of mercenary's that appeared in front of him. His eyes passing from one to the next, silently judging their strength. He recognized a few of them from the previous encounter eyeing @vengance, but most where new.

His first impression of the gang was that they where dangerous, but not well organized; a telltale sign of a mercenary band, or those under the service of a reginal warlord.  Remus didn't like the thought of being deployed under their control, but was nonetheless duty bound to comply.

He heard his employer mention his name and pledge him for an expedition, but decided not to answer keeping quiet and simply standing at her side, the details would sort themselves out.

He had to admit he was pleasantly surprised at how well Vengeance could control his unending depths of depravity when he was so inclined. He'd hardly thought the man capable of being diplomatic, but they had to have allies somehow, he supposed.

His attention shifted onto Remus, the warrior offered up in light of Vengeance's request. Wasn't anything particularly spectacular about him, but anyone with teeth and claws would do as long as they knew how to bite and scratch.

He remained silent as he exchanged glances with the other Nightwalkers, scarred lips pressed into a thin line of disdain. Gods, they really needed to step up the recruitment process, didn't they?

Moving this thread along! Last post from Vengeance here and I will put up a new thread at The Maw later today!

^^
Everyone remained silent as the King and Warlord spoke among themselves. Perhaps bored or maybe interested in being involved in whatever was to come with the brewing storm over the past month. Even he was antsy to get a move on. The longer they waited the longer she had to prepare for their arrival, to prepare her own little army considering their first and last encounter.

“I will take what you can offer.” There was no place for him to begin barking orders at Celnes considering how little power he had here against her own court. The Warlord only played nice because he had to. If it were up to him, he would take them all - and so, with their current position... he had to accept what was handed to him freely as a mutual alliance.

“We will rest here for now while you gather on your end, by nightfall tomorrow we will make our final move.” At least the first step of the final assault. Turning to settle his own little platoon. “Fill your bellies and rest up until then, but leave the elk alone. Here they are sacred to the King and her people.” With that said, he was off to hunt his own meal... elk did sound nice, but for the sake of the alliance... well, he'd find something else.

"If you find someone, feel free to pick them up." A vixen's laugh though knowingly none would measure up to the Nightwalkers bulk. Thus refrained from speaking more.. Though she was satisfied with his warning, a nod to so, and a narrowed smile to the rest of the group. It was a shame that these white devils were within their ranks, and while a sentencing would like to be done, just as the Warlord was refraining, she was as well.

"Enjoy your stay."

So they would be staying, or at least until tomorrow night. Unfortunate. He was hoping to see some action sooner, but at least that gave him the chance to snoop around their allies. His warlord turned to face them, a short order on his lips. They could eat their fill, but the elk were to be untouched.

Weird. Elk would probably be the best meal they had roamin' around and they were just going to ignore em? The fire born would say nothing to acknowledge the words of either leader, instead, he would just stroll by, a casual glance shot towards Vengeance as he smirked and disappeared into the woods.

No promises~

Remus didn't have much to say, not to such a group as this.  Nonetheless he would fight by their side if need be.  He spent a long moment eyeing them over, many different wolves: white, dark, gold, grizzled and young alike.   What where these souls doing following this warlord.  Was the destiny of a warrior, if nothing else; to bring the world to order.

He figured that they, and himself are all pawns, for the goals of some leader.  Nonetheless, honor bound him to stay.

Staying nearby, Remus would keep watch on the group, until the time when he was needed and he would march with this band.

Gonna hop over to the other thread now
