Our community is focused on flexibility, creativity, and collaboration. That boils down to a few important features:

  • There is no set activity requirement to write
  • The setting and plot are member-created and staff-supported

Anyone - including hopefully an @Amphitrite if available

Hades had told him he couldn't just spend the days lazing his life away, but that was exactly what he was doing. Sometimes he would find ways to be useful, including vague attempts at hunting. Most of the time, his hunts were terribly unsuccessful. The more he remembered about the before-times, the worse he seemed to get. He had the continual feeling as though this body was not normal, and this had been confirmed by Atropos, who had accused him of somehow doing it on purpose.
If he had been turned into a horse permanently, that would have been another story. He knew how to be a horse; in fact, he remembered it better than being... whatever it was he'd been.
As he found his way to the beach beside the lake beyond Winterheart, where he often came to think or relax, something startled him almost immediately.
There was one, very important, very useful feature of being a wolf. This was the keen sense of smell that all wolves seemed to share. Instinctively he inhaled the smell, and found within it something that threatened to unlock a memory, but couldn't quite manage it. There was more to his old life. He had always known that, but this smell was an important piece of it.
 So he followed it.

There continued to be an unsettling feeling, of something that she should remember but her mind continued to fog such things from her. They were no longer tangible and she feared the longer she stayed still the more they would become distant. She should leave the lake… she knew that there were other places to explore in the vast environment. Each time she managed to get a few paces from where she had started, she would turn frightful. Worried that if someone were looking for her they wouldn’t know where to find her if she were to leave. Amphitrite was stubborn, having told herself that she would wait another day before the hopelessness would settle in and she would move her paws to another location. Paws… she leaned upwards so her rump would take all her weight. The dark pads lifting from the dirt as she eyed them… surely these had always been here. The toes would wiggle at her command, shifting them as if she was unsure about what to do with them.

Placing them back to the ground she lifted her form upwards, hunger had resided in her stomach as the she-wolf peered around. Sick of trying to catch the fish in the lake, they were not as fulfilling as what a plump deer or rabbit could bring her. Tongue would stick outwards, running it along her maw as it was settled she would leave for a moment to search for food. A gal had to eat after all. She raced forward into the thickets, leaving the lake behind her to try and gather a little forest friend to satisfy her appetite.

Moments had passed and the afternoon would shed it’s light along the casted surface of the water. It was hot… blood stained her maw as the rabbit had been clenched in her jaws. Of course this had to be her true form, no other way would she be able to hunt like that on raw instincts. She pranced back to the lake, proud of her catch as she paused at the tree line. The lake in view, her ears twitched as they twirled around her head. Something was different, she placed the rabbit down near her paws and lifted her head up slowly.

Amphitrite’s nose twitched, the scent catching her nose as she twirled around quickly returning into the forest. The rabbit scent would surely mask her own, at least until she was able to sneak attack the intruder. Did they not know that she had taken claim of the lake’s bank. Well, to herself she had the right… after all she did just show up at their shore so clearly this land was hers.

Slowly her paws were silent against the ground, her body lowered… hoping that the rabbit’s blood was enough of a decoy for the stranger to check out the scent. Pine and salt… why had it smelled so familiar. Flashes of memories proceeded to cast against her head, voices calling out to one another but the faces were dark and unrecognizable. The wolf snuck to the back and was quick to lurch forward, her jowls opened as she grabbed the side of his scruff. Using her weight to drive the larger wolf to the ground, intertwining their bodies together as the scuffle would take them into a roll. Using the momentum she landed on top of him, her eyes full of fury as she stared down at the individual. Teeth snapping at his face in hopes to scare him a little, meanwhile she had no idea how this was going to play out. He could easily scoop her up and throw her on her ass if he wished, “Who are you?”

She flipped him. Almost immediately. He let her flip him.
He didn't really know why. She just seemed so innocuous, despite her fierce and hungry nature. He was more than willing to allow her into his not-so-secret world of cursed oblivion. He had met Persephone and Hades upon this very shore, so in a way it seemed pre-ordained that others might appear as they willed it upon their doorstep.
The rabbit blood had hardly distracted him from something he felt like he knew. He could not explain it. Rationally, everything in him yelled to return home and sleep off whatever insanity he felt.
And so as she stared at him with disdain and the fury of the Furies, Poseidon licked gently at her chin, for no reason at all. He stayed upside down. He stayed with her over him.
“Poseidon, my coral.” He said it as though he had known her for a thousand years. Yet, she appeared unfamiliar and wildly out of place to him. Nothing made sense.

He did not try to fight back, he did not growl nor show his teeth. Amphitrite did not know what game he was trying to play, perhaps tricking her by diminishing her guarded walls. She would not allow such things instead the female would once more poke her sharpened teeth next to his face. Snapping them close, her fang just missing the tip of his nose by a hair. She would not inflict pain if he would cooperate and answer the questions that were set before him. The fury that ignited in her bluish-green orbs faltered as she looked down, taking in her captive that was between her front paws. Her ears would fall backwards to her skull and then she delved her face forward. Nose twitching as she took in his scent, why… why did it smell so familiar. Shaking her head she refused to believe this male was of some importance to her. He was just a stranger who was perhaps looking for a lonely she-wolf to rescue.

A snort escaped from her nostrils and suddenly something warm placed against the bottom of her chin. No more would she feel so inclined to allow such a man to touch her the way that he did… she did not give him permission to do as he pleases. What a pig. A growl pushed past her throat as she was quick to leap upwards and away from the other. Her hackles rising and then falling as his name would emerge from his lips, she knew that name. It was so familiar but the female had only thought of it as a dream. One in which she had tried to shake away from her for weeks now. Those eyes… that smell… it all came back and then faltered once more.

She knew there was something more to him than a male looking for some tail, yet… maybe she was right. His arrogance seemed to charm his way up her form as she crouched, her tail moving to hide her more vulnerable parts, “Poseidon.” She repeated, “What a dumb name.” She threw right back at him, before her snout would lift into the air. A quick swish of her tail in his direction before moving back to what she had originally been doing. Hoping no other prey had gone to take her meal away. Her tail curled upwards as the she-wolf would demonstrate her dominance to the other, “Now, since you were being a pervert and stalking me, what is it that you wish? If not for anything but perhaps a quick fuck you can go ahead and take your leave, I am not interested.” She snapped. Grabbing the rabbit between her maw and moving off to a place that it would be safe, before she was able to indulge in it’s flesh, “What? Cat got your tongue” She demanded. She would have to deal with this intruder first, calling her coral and licking at her chin, what a man whore.

At once she stiffened, and he noticed that her ears swivelled backward like a trapped animal. She stared him on, but he looked away rather casually. His lick had done nothing to appease her, and though she growled at him he knew that she could not possibly hurt him. She was no fury. She was no punishment preordained. Rather, she was radiant and wonderful, and nothing could convince him otherwise.
As she spoke his name, he grew excited, finding his breath in his throat. But he exhaled with disappointment, as he realized she had no memory of him. Perhaps he had mistaken her for someone else. Perhaps she was of a different realm, so much like his old... whatever she was, but not quite the same. It was not her, clearly. He snorted out of frustration and turned over to his side with her leeway. As she presented her tail, Poseidon could not see it, laying on his side idly.
He didn't defend himself against her accusations. He waited. He remembered vaguely what it was like to fuck her, but she had had a different body then. He remembered feeling warm, wonderful, and like his dick was at home. Certainly, he wished to feel it again, but he was more interested in an embrace from her, whatever that felt like in this weird form.
“We used to have fun, my coral,” he said absently, wishing that she might remember, but knowing from experience it was unlikely. Hades and he had been lucky to recall a few things together, but no other had he found this understanding with. “Uhr,” he said finally, scrambling to his feet. “Did you want a quick fuck?” He hoped desperately for it. In spite of himself he felt his body getting all hot and ready, which had not been his intent.

Amphitrite hated how this male was so keen on pushing her buttons, the way his casual demeanor did nothing more than provoke her further. How could he possibly be so calm, she was obviously being frightening. Not enough… yet when her fangs would push past her lips. Showing the teeth beneath as her maw parted, they would pause just next to his neck. Her eyes closed as the goddess would push herself from him. A growl emitting as pushed her way from his form, he was having too much fun. Maybe he was a sadistic pervert who enjoyed being dominated by a woman. Was this just a rouse to get him all hot and bothered, ew.

The female’s tail would bristle upwards, her green hues matching his own as she stared down on him. Annoyance obviously displayed on her features, she was not one to hide her emotions. Especially when one seemed to need to know just who they were messing with. Her paws would pick up against the dirt, moving her form in a bouncing strut. So… she would need a different approach. The soul of the goddess was not one matched with fury, unless this man could provoke her further he may see such a wrath. He was not helping himself with such a cocky attitude that exhumed off him. Why did it remind her of someone?

Pausing close by her nose would poke out curiously, nostrils would flare as she took in his scent. Taken back, her paw would move to bend and hide under her form. The scent would flood her mind, why did he smell so familiar? She was sure she had not met this male since coming to this world. The only other wolf was the one with the snake in which she had a rather… interesting episode with.

She was brought back from her thoughts as he called out to her, saying how they used to have fun. Even giving her a pet name. Her hackles rising but falling as she tried to make sense of this situation. Sitting down on her haunches a paw moving up to press against her temple, migraine. It felt as if she had been having a lot of these lately in the past week she was here. Her memories try to get her to remember but something- like a vail making it too blurry to re-live such things.

An unpleasant sigh would escape, her gaze once more returning to the immature creature that managed to ask her if she would enjoy being pleasured. I mean… she would but… that was only because her predator side wanted nothing more than to allow this man to ravish her. She wouldn't. She pushed her paw out to stop if he were to advance, “Let us start with learning one another’s name. My name is not ‘Coral’, it’s Amphitrite.” Perhaps if this man knows her she can find out more information about herself, “No... keep your dick to yourself.” She barked out, “I already have a man.” She lied.

She hated him and hated his essence. So, he did not fight back against her.
He saw her press her wrist against her forehead; this was a human expression and not one of the animal world. Thus, he knew that she was of his world or one like it. She was too beautiful to be bound to this form alone. He knew that she was far more than appearances suggested.
He did not attempt to mount her, despite the tightening and desire of his body. She instead demanded that he know her by proper name, and that name was Amphitrite. “Amphi..trite... my coral,” he whispered as she spoke, remembering holding her, recalling the warmth of her body.
“Of course, yes. I... yes,” he said, realizing at once that his once wife wished only to move on with her life. Yet, he knew that here she had no life. “But, Amphitrite, you must know.”
Poseidon paused and took a breath. “You are a goddess, and this world does not know you.” And here, the husband paused for a long moment. He even turned away from her and walked away several paces. “But I do.” He said,  and again wandered away.

The young goddess would survey her surroundings, the world felt so large and she so small. Compared to what little she remembered, this male in front of her was confusing her further. Her head was spinning as she drew herself backwards, towards the comfort of what she felt was safe. Water... depths beckoning her to drive herself deep into the darkness of the world below. One thing at a time, she knew she was a good swimmer capable of holding her breath and if he were to try anything that is where she would go. Her gaze would follow the line of trees and then return to the male, she had been trying to avoid eye contact until now. Entrapment was an understatement… as if her body was in a daze. Hues of green swirled around like the raging of a storm - yet gentle as they took in her form.

She remembered it was vague but her mind would travel to another realm, his voice calling out to her or perhaps it was reality. She did not know. Blue and green orbs would blink as she looked into the veil-like cloth that was covering her eyes. A man was standing before her, hands moving to grip against her wrist as those orbs of green looked down on her. Tilting her head upwards as her breath would hitch, her neck exposed as lips graced against the tender flesh… She snapped out of it as he spoke once more.

“Poseidon…” She breathed out softly, before shaking out her head. What was that? Who was that? Was that her, in a previous life? Why must her muddled thoughts be so… unhelpful. At least allow her mind to remember something other than names and weird sex dreams with some creature that had posable thumbs.

His words made little to know sense, just as this world did. There was something familiar about him and as he walked away her heart squeezed. She did not want him to leave… woah weird? Why was she so hell-bent on not wanting him to leave her. She dropped her ears against her skull and she called out to him, “Wait!” She practically screamed and moved towards him, “I don’t know why but I can’t just let you leave. I can’t just let you walk away… I want you to tell me what you know about me.”

 Memory is a fickle thing.
It clouds as it whispers, pulls away as one grasps. It is a great and slippery beast, one which gives and takes as mortals lament beneath its power.

Poseidon couldn't even remember the name of the goddess of memory, he just sort of remembered that there was one. He might have cursed her name had he remembered, and wondered quietly if she was the one behind this entire wolfish mess. What a cruel joke to plant his wife before him and have her unable to remember him. Dejected and acceptant, he managed only another step before she stopped him.
He blinked slowly, smelling the sun-kissed air but not looking back, waiting respectfully for her words.
Finally, he turned his head back toward her when she pleaded that he wait. Maybe it was his respect for her that had changed her. Normally it was his charming cluelessness and probably handsome hair fur that did the ladies in — this was probably not one of those moments.
Amphitrite moved closer. He turned his body completely toward her but didn't step forward. He was wearing a sloppy and confused expression, one jowl hanging looser than the other. He couldn't remember what she looked like before. He couldn't remember the colour of her hair, nor the crown she had worn. He couldn't recall her facial features or what her bits looked like. All he could recall was what she felt like, but not just in the gross way. He remembered feeling his heart flutter about in the early days, and how that flutter became a calm but stable warmth in their lives.
He knew this wasn't what she was looking for, but he smiled all the same, rather meekly. “I can. I dunno if you'll like any of it though,” he admitted. “But, my Queen, I can try.”
Her eyes — they had a miraculous, deep and powerful flow about them, turbulent like the seas she had shepherded. He grinned, realizing he'd been staring openly at her. “Your eyes are just as pretty as before, Amphitrite, Queen of the Sea.” His tail wagged slowly and dimly.

The various colors of her fur would poof out, perhaps it was the constant agitation he had been piling her with. However, the female could not take her gaze off of him. When his seafoam hues disappeared and returned to the forest. She could feel her heart clutch, strange. Why should she feel such a way towards a man who not two minutes ago offered himself as a quick fuck. An internal groan rupted in her mind as she tried to weigh her options. Already turning down another because she was waiting for someone. Was this the someone. If he was at least he was easy on the eyes and he seemed to have a recollection of what was happening. What had happened... to her. She accepted the fact that her memories may or may not return with the frustration of blindly following this man into the unknown.

Something told her that it was okay, to take that small leap of faith. A puzzle that seemed endless with various pieces she was missing. This may be one of the missing pieces she needs to recollect her memories. She took in a deepened breath as her mouth reacted before her mind could tell her no. He waited, his paws stopping at the edge of forestry that would have swallowed him if he took another step closer. Her ears pinned down as the reluctant - more stubborn side did not want to admit that she needed him. His claims of allowing her to remember had pushed her pride down with a hard swallow as she asked for his help.

In return he would turn, his eyes following along her form as she grew uncomfortable. She did not think she was a goddess, I mean just look at this body. It was covered in fur. Has it always been? Giving a deepened sigh she walked forward. Meeting him at the ledge of the forest her ears swiveling up to catch onto the individual’s words, “I don’t want to be alone” She breathed out, admitting what she had feared. Just as the other wolf claimed she had a home with them if she wished… she just knew this is where she was meant to be. With him. Even if she had no idea who he was, at least she had a name to the face. Poseidon. He had continued to call her his goddess, what was she to him?

Her gaze casted to the forestry, “Before what?” She pressed on, but her stomach began to rumble. The reminder of the prey she had casted into the bushes, “What is this place?” She ignored the need for hunger right now, “Where do you live? Would I be welcomed?”

He did not want her to be alone, and the proclamation that she answered with did not spark confidence. Poseidon wanted to risk showering her with the love that sat within an old life, but she had been unresponsive to his gestures. He knew that she needed something far more gentle. Something calm. Something stable.
“Before this,” he answered to her question. “Before we were in this form, things were different.” He told her, though it meant little. He remembered some, but not most of the things. He could not recall faces, nor how to make a good cocktail, nor how to find the clitoris.
“We are coming upon Winterheart Forest. It is pretty, and of course you will be welcomed. You are the goddess of the seas, and none will doubt you my fair... Amphitrite.” Poseidon felt himself excited over her again, he could see the purity of her, the beauty in her coat, and way the cut of her gaze could make one faint on sight. My coral, he thought, desiring her and forcing himself to only tell her the world she might find. “@Persephone will love you,” he offered, smiling stupidly.

Amphitrite couldn’t recall anything besides small snippets of her previous life, she had known the feeling of sunlight. The bitterness of salt water against her lips, the feeling of sand between her toes. Yet all this could translate with this current state she had been found in. There was nothing special except the constant pull to plunge in the water. To escape the reality that was set before her, the female wanted nothing more than to remember. His actions had switched, becoming more patient and that is what she will need. Time. Perhaps being around the other would help her remember, there was something tangibly familiar that tingled the back of her head. Feeling worthless was something she had not been able to experience, it was foriegn to the goddess but nonetheless still present in her thoughts.

Aqua hues fell to the male that she now walked with, their fur brushing against one another. The urge for closeness beckoned her to him but she did not give into the temptation. He spoke, his voice alluring as her ears picked up every syllable that crossed his maw, “I see… so we were together in another lifetime?” Perhaps that is why he was so familiar to her. If what he is saying was to be true she was sure he would have the answers that she seeked. They could figure this out together, like they had done in a previous life. She did not ask how they knew one another, afraid she wouldn’t believe the story he would tell.

As they continued deeper into the forest, her eyes would fall across the land. Claiming that this would be the new lands in which she would grow on. Perhaps this is the place she would be able to figure everything out. He mentioned her title of being a goddess once more, this time adding the sea. She blinked, continuously, as she shook her head. Her paw swiped up to maw against her head as it began to throb. An audible whine escaped her as she seethed her breath inwards.

Her lungs expand to make way for the oxygen before decomposing, “I-I... ” Visions flashed again, this time she was back in the sea. She was screaming for Posiedon, wait how did she know him… Her fingers stretched to grasp to the surface as the water pushed her down. Deeper and deeper into the rabbit hole, “I am not this creature…” She whispered to herself before her mind once more clouded, “I was not human - though I had resembled one.” She turned to look at the male, “That is all I remember.” She lied, she had screamed for him. Why was he so important to her?

With that they disappeared into the forest as she was welcomed into her new home.
