Only rarely did she wonder from the mountain, and even then, it would not be too far. On rare occasions would she go on scouting missions, yet usually with another, and they would return home within the span of a few weeks. It wasn't that she didn't hold confidence that the other warriors couldn't uphold their territory - Desdemona just never felt the need to. She didn't hold desired of exploration, finding something new, meeting others. For her, protecting the home that she loves above all else, is what matters to her heart. Having previous issues on losing them, she was quite strict on maintaining, and keeping it.

Long ago she even kept vigil at a pack that remained no more, being the sole guardian of that forest. In the end she did move on, but not without heartache.

For some reason she felt a little unusual, a slight curiosity beyond the Nameless mountain. Though she didn't go too far, just around the outer territories. Her nose to ground, taking in newer scents.

The valley down the mountains was big, much bigger than Scott had expected. It made him wary, and tired. It made him feel unmotivated to move on even further. He had moved south, and found himself sitting there near the foot of another mountain just staring out over the lands. There was not much here other than peaks, grass, rocks, clouds, sky… birds that flew up and around in the sky.

He inhaled deeply, held his breath for a little, then exhaled again, letting the mountain air fill his lungs. A bird landed on a tree branch quite close to him, sitting in the small, dead tree. It called out, and Scott turned his head to look at it. the bird was a peregrine, and it was staring at Scott intently. It was odd, something magical, almost. Scott found himself staring right back. He knew his second name was Peregrine, and his father had told him his second name had been given with the bird in mind. And here Scott was, eye to eye with one that casually lounged on a branch, so close to him.

‘’Hello thare bird, did ye know ma second name is Peregrine? Ye're a peregrine, richt?’’ Scott said. He wasn’t sure why he was talking to a bird, because he doubted they would answer him back but… it just felt right, doing so. It didn’t feel weird to him. Maybe Scott was going crazy, but he felt a little better talking to this creature. Less alone.

The bird suddenly turned its head, seemed to look in the direction of the mountains, or close to it. It was as if it had spotted something. Scott looked in the same direction, noticing a stranger wolf up ahead. Another dark one, just like him.

Sniffing, Scott recognized the pack scent, having met a wolf around this area before, but more up north. Had he actually stepped into their territory? He hoped not. Was this the same wolf he’d met before? He couldn’t really tell…

‘’Um, excuse me. Sorry tae bother ye.’’ he called out, getting to his paws and turning in the direction of the stranger. They were still a bit of a ways off, but hopefully they would notice Scott.

As Desdemona was not on the Empyrean grounds, she was not as territorial, or hostile as normally would be. Though a wariness did set, and the usual stoicism remained, she looked at the other. He spoke with a thick accent that was unfamiliar, someone that surely wasn't around - then again, not knowing many neighbors.. They could never tell who was native, and what language that was spoken. So many mysteries that were left unanswered, but she peacefully guarded their new claim, awaiting for the news of what was out there.

Unspoken, but she waited for his words to continue, silently looking at him with her jade eyes.

The stranger did not respond, but instead looked at him, and as Scott approached, he realized it was not the wolf he’d met before. The scent was familiar, though. they had to be from the same pack. ‘’Apologies, A mistook ye fer someone else. A thoucht we'd met before.’’ he readily said, ever the one to keep the conversation going albeit with shyness. He looked behind him for a bit to see the bird still perched on the branch, as if he was worried the creature had already flown off. But it was still there. Scott’s eyes landed back on the stranger.

‘’Ye share the same pack scent. A- A'm no trespassin’, Am A…?’’ he asked, worried he might have stepped over some boundaries. He hadn’t smelled anything around, though. He just hoped he hadn’t missed any markings.

"Do I look similar to someone?" Her pelt wasn't an exactly the cooling abyssal color that Ostrega's notably held, she had a more earthy tone, ebony like, not completely black, and not hidden exactly through the night. She knew of her features, long-legged, slim and supple, though through her rigorous training from birth to present she was keen muscles from the dedication. She could not think of another wolf that held such a simple coat as hers, nor' could think of many with pale jade eyes. She was curious, who the wolf may be.

"We are on the edge, it is not trespassing. Though, you are close." Words held warning, and while technically he was not trespassing, Desdemona made it clear through her stern voice, he was too close to the liking.

Oh. Uhhhhhhh. ‘’Uncertain o’ their name, but they haed a dark coat, ower. An’ they smellit o’ the same pack.’’ he explained to her. ‘’An’ blue een – uhhh – eyes.’’ He sounded out the last word carefully. He knew the English language but sometimes it was hard to remember and correct himself, considering he hadn’t spoken it in so long and basically refused to.

Apparently he was close to their pack. Not on the borders, but still close by, and Scott nodded, taking in the information. ‘’Tha’s guid, wis worriit A'd already passit any borders.’’ But he hadn’t, so- he was good, no? He didn’t mean to intrude on pack lands, after all.

Scott did wonder then, though, what their pack was called and what it was like. The male had been feeling rather lonely lately, and he wondered if he would ever be able to fit in anywhere, again. But first, asking around for pack information would be a good start, no?

‘’Whit's yer pack called, an whit's it like?’’ he decided to ask with interest.

As the more she talked him, the more his accent carried on, and more time she sat in silence, digesting it and processing his words, "that names quite a few wolves of the Ostrega lineage." The description helped not, she could think of a few with that description ; Hydra, Lyra, Alya, and even Jarilo could fall along so. All she could know as well, there was strays wandering so, remembering that the wolves that once were in the group Moonspear, majority held that pelt. Though now smaller, still covered in an abyssal black was a key signature of them so. She didn't think too far about it.

"We are called Empyrean - loyalty above all else to each other and our leaders, Hydra and Dirge." She understood the concept many packs had a core.. Function, about them. Some fell to their culture and religion, others to the strong bond they carry, a pack that was created soley on their bloodline. She supposed that their group was but a mixture, but above all else, they were best known for the strong loyalties between. Betrayal wasn't an option, and each other displayed the upmost trust to so.

Strong within their ties.

Yeahhhh, more wolves were dark in coat color, and if this pack had more black coated wolves among their ranks, there was of course no way Scott was going to find out who he’d met before. He didn’t even know her name, honestly. The female told him of her pack, a short sweet description that told him what the pack was all about. He wasn’t too sure about it, listening to her. They sounded too… strict for his liking. Scott was looking for something that represented a family above all else. Loyalty of course belonged in a family bond, but it shouldn’t be the only thing a pack drives on.

‘’An’ ye live here i’ these mountains?’’ he asked her, looking at the mountain’s foot and eyes scanning the rocks and hills as they moved up, seeking the top. Scott wasn’t sure how much of his feelings he should lay bare regarding pack life and what he was seeking, but perhaps he should at least ask her some more questions to make up his mind.

‘’Is yer pack like a family, or more structurit than tho- that?’’ Because if they all considered each other family, instead of only following the rule of their leaders, then Scott might find a place among them. The feeling he got now though wasn’t very warm and family-like. But perhaps this wolf’s serious demeanor was in their nature.

‘’A once wis part o’ a pack. A kynd o’ miss bein’ amon’ others. But it's hard tae find the place ye fit i’ wi, sometimes.’’ This was most that he was willing to share about the past. Honestly, he remembered his old pack felt like family, but he could not remember all of their faces or names. It was mostly just a blur… All he knew was that they were called the Twilight Vanguard. Or weren’t they called that? It was so hard to remember things.

She nodded, a jade look behind her toward the mountain that they claim. They were lucky, to find such a land that similar to their previous claim and as well as being empty. There was strays of foxes, coyotes and the like, but with such a large pack with their numbers, it wasn't the biggest issue to chase of the stragglers. Quick to their claim ; and to the new name they called themselves, Empyrean.

"I suppose both. Many are related and bound - but not by blood alone, as I'm not related to them." In particular, Desdemona held strong loyalty to Hydra, and in return to being accepated amongst their ranks, that loyalty extends to those who enter the ranks. Though those who leave in selfishness, for her the tie is broken, and even if they are accepted, a cold front would be given from the spider guard. She does not enjoy those who betray them so - though thankfully, it has only happened once.

"Are you looking to join us?" Desdemona questioned.

They apparently had many wolves among their numbers, not family by blood. These days though, packs were like that a lot. Scott had grown up in such a pack, joined another pack that was like that. He was used to it, and it gave him a good feeling, that not everyone was related by blood. It meant there was room for him, a chance. He still wasn’t certain, but he did like the idea of belonging somewhere again. So when she asked him, he thought for a few seconds, pondering his decision.

‘’Perhaps. Coud A meet yer pack mates…?’’ he asked, hesitantly. He did not want to intrude upon pack ground, but he did want to get to know the others of the pack a little and see what they were like before he made a final decision. He wanted to feel at home somewhere, he wanted to belong. If he could feel that here, with these wolves, then he would gladly make his decision to stay.

OH, he almost forgot! ‘’A'm Scott Peregrine Blaine-White, bi the way. Scott's juist fine.’’ he let her know, finally remembering to introduce himself. ‘’A'm sorry, it's been chaos i’ ma head syne A randomly woke up i’ this... world? Valley?’’ Whatever this was.

Wolves were a tricky nature, and she generally didn't understand the pleasure of a lone wolf life. Her first homeland was as a slave omega, working as a bastardly kid, until banishment. Thereforth to immediate Morningside, she found their group in beautiful shade of autumns, as the forest looked like was blazed up. Though gradual.. Disbandment, as the leader foolishly casted them all way for a woman who rejected him, and in the end, the reigns were left open-ended, and scattered. Finally, did she find Moonspear ; where the Queen Hydra was.

"They are always wandering near the border. We are careful of our claims." She looked over to the mountain that now was home.

Every time the guard was a loner, she always sought out for a group. Other wolves were not like that, some preferred to remain like a loner, wandering around without a care in the world, or a place to call home. She remembered a few wolves like that, but couldn't exactly relate to them. She refrained from judging, but only remained confused on why they felt that.

"I am Desdemona, many are the same." Her gaze turned back to him. She too, remembering waking up, away from the familiar land where the packs once were. Though rised from the ground up, they were now Empyrean.

Always wandering near the borders. Oh well, that wasn’t really the answer he was hoping for, but he would accept it. Perhaps he would meet more wolves from the Empyrean as he resided here in the area. He hoped he would meet more members soon, though. He wanted to make a decision at some point, hopefully sooner rather than later.

Her own name was Desdemona, and Scott took in the information, storing the name away for later in case he came across other Empyrean wolves, or in case he came across her again. ‘’Nice tae meet ye.’’ he said a little shyly. Her speech was dreamy, a little confusing sometimes. But he assumed she meant many wolves had woken up without knowing where they were. Scott by now knew he was for sure not the only one. It made him feel a little better, less alienated in this new world he knew nothing of.

‘’An’ thank ye for the chat.’’ was what he followed up with. It was nice to know there were other wolves out here, a pack, and wolves that woke up in the same situation as him. It made him feel less alone. And it was nice to see the face of a fellow wolf, now and then.

I’m running empty on muse for a few threads, shall we fade this out in our next posts? O:

yuh thats fine!

She dipped her head politely back, though remained speechless. He was rather nice wolf, albeit had trouble understanding at times what he said, but she had the general gist. She would hope in another time he would officially ask, and call for Hydra ; as Desdemona had no claims to allow him to Empyrean, nor the ability to allow him in the ranks. Surprisingly so, she may hold the Gamma rank, she still lowered herself to others at times. It was a rather.. Hard moment to process that she somewhat ignored it altogether, and simply decided her duties above all else.

"I hope you consider Empyrean." Leaving that so, she started to turn away from the man and head back to the mountain.

Huh, what? Her words caught him off guard, and he stood there speechless, watching as she she returned and left to go back up the mountains. He wasn’t really sure if they’d gotten to know each other that well during their conversation, so to have her say she hoped he might join Empyrean was an interesting fact. He nodded shyly even though she’d already turned her back on him, and decided to think about it and sleep on it for another night at least. He wanted to meet some more pack wolves first before finally making the decision.

For now, he guessed he would be… getting himself something to eat? He wasn’t really sure what he wanted to do.

Fading here, thanks for the thread! <3333
