Welcome to Canis Major

a wolf and animal rpg (role-playing game)

Canis is a writing community for play-by-post (forum-based), freeform roleplay set in a fictional dream world in the intrusion fantasy genre. Most characters on Canis are wolves; many play elements are focused around wolves and canids, but the world makes room for a large variety of other animal characters such as dogs, horses, cats, bears, deer, and many, many more.

Our community is focused on flexibility, creativity, and collaboration. That boils down to a few important features:

  • There is no set activity requirement to write
  • The setting and plot are member-created and staff-supported
  • The game is continuously improved to increase fun and decrease stress

With the first dat set up she was off to the second one! Too excited, she wouldn't waste much time between pairings so long as they had the space to give them all time alone and no other couples watching them.

This one was both a little easy to do, but also difficult. The male didn't give her much to work on, but at least the female, Ilaria was more open with her desires in a partner. Hopefully Cavanaugh was as carefree as he came off otherwise this would be a disaster.

To try and ease his awkwardness she had a feeling would come, Reiko gave him a few flowers to bring himself as opposed to decorating their date spot herself. It would make him come off more pleasant and welcoming despite his standoffish personality. Their spot was nestled in a mound of snow, carved out by Reiko herself to give them a little more intimacy all the while with an opening facing the water and in the middle their own rabbit to share.

A little nervous about this one, she left their fate in luck's hands as she did all she could for them.

Ilaria found the idea of blind dates entertaining. She had only met the one man on the day of her awakening, Cavanaugh. Even after parting, she remembered the dark man. He was her first meeting in these new lands, and she refused to allow herself to forget that. And deep down, she wished they hadn't parted. She was lonely after their meeting. Ilaria was used to having someone around, mainly her brothers, but still. The woman was rarely alone. And in these lands, she was constantly alone.

So when she heard of the event Reiko was holding, she jumped at the opportunity. She wouldn't be alone anymore if they hit it off. Ilaria would have someone she could rely on, someone who'd let her be herself. But the woman knew better than to have dreams.

Ilaria was slow to appear at the designated meeting place, fear and nerves brewing in her stomach. What if it was some control freak? Or a psychopath? Just the thought made her shudder. Ilaria could handle herself against a man, Papa made sure of that. But she couldn't always win. Not when she's decided to lower her walls a bit for the night.

Once Ilaria came to the location, her eyes went wide upon seeing her date. "It's you. I got paired with you?" The woman couldn't believe it. The stranger she had met some time ago was her date. Ilaria found it sort of amusing. The Fates were playing tricks on them, bringing them together once again.

Once the shock wore off, her lips quirked with a smile. "I love the flowers." Ilaria thought the sight of the man with flowers was cute. His hulking figure frightened her on their first meeting, but now, she felt okay being this close. She was no longer afraid of what he could do to her.

In all honesty he didn't know what he was thinking following the bird with the open invitation to a blind date set up by some random woman he had never met before. Honestly he thought it was foolish, or brave to welcome strangers to come traipsing around their lands.

He deemed it brave upon arriving. Their borders smelled strong, and though the woman was welcoming, he could see looming figures in the distance watching them carefully. Cavanaugh didn't know how to feel about this pack, but colour him intrigued.

Moments before he would set off to find the meeting spot, the Empress practically shoved a bouquet of flowers into his maw. Leaving little room for him to refuse especially as she quickly blurted out why she had done such a thing in the first place.

He was the first to appear - and for a moment he wondered if he had gone to the wrong location. He had taken his time travelling here after all and the thought that perhaps he was too late did cross his mind. Bothering him none of course. The thought of leaving and wandering away did come to him, but it was moments too late. A familiar face wandered in. That woman from the strange settlement.

Uncertain how to feel about this, he simply sat there watching. Expression and posture as relaxed as he could be though arguably still stiff when comparing to your average wolf. Their last meeting had gone well and so he'd allow her to wander in closer than the previous time. Placing the flowers down by her paws so free his maw. “Did you organize this yourself?” An attempt to be humorous.
