Welcome to Canis Major

a wolf and animal rpg (role-playing game)

Canis is a writing community for play-by-post (forum-based), freeform roleplay set in a fictional dream world in the intrusion fantasy genre. Most characters on Canis are wolves; many play elements are focused around wolves and canids, but the world makes room for a large variety of other animal characters such as dogs, horses, cats, bears, deer, and many, many more.

Our community is focused on flexibility, creativity, and collaboration. That boils down to a few important features:

  • There is no set activity requirement to write
  • The setting and plot are member-created and staff-supported
  • The game is continuously improved to increase fun and decrease stress

Clouds of glittered elegantly tickled the soft flesh of a freshly moistened nose. In response to the delicate touch, the outsider wiggled his snout before scrunching it at the seams. A sudden inhale soon followed before the object eventually went still.

"time to wake, little one," and unfamiliar voice whispered. The voice was old, but held a sweet tune. Almost like honey.

As if the Gods had willed his very being, a large sky blue tulip rose from the ground. It rocked against fraying wooden bridge. The soft wisps of the wind causing it to bobble and sway. The spot the flower had chosen to pick was an odd one at best, but it created the optimal birthing place.

Ready to bloom, tulip unfurled its radiant petals to reveal a canine specimen within its center. The man was crafted skillfully from the evening sky kissing that touched the moon. Blues of light and dark hues blended seamlessly into delicate browns and mochas, all to finish with accents of ebony and tawny. Yet none of this man's colors compared to the emerald green eyes that fluttered away.

To follow such a spectacular display, the moon's shimmering light illuminating the awaken. Many would consider this a blessing from the Moon Goddess herself - and Marvos would see this no different. He was a gift sent from the heavens, and his family had given him the right to be the next heir to their throne.

Prying himself from the flower, Marvos lightly stepped away from the cliff's ragged edge and sauntered towards the tree line. Here, he would start anew.
