Novocaine

Her day began early in the morning. It had been so long since she had clamped her jaws around something, that she started to feel uneasy. She was so used to violence and death, that now, when she didn’t have to do it, she felt aimless. Thus this morning she had gone for a hunt which was as successful as it ever was and now she was walking past these hills and grasses, jaws clenched around the neck of a deer, it’s body limp and dragging beneath the strong paws of the behemoth of a woman that carried it. After she found a suitable place near a pine tree, with enough shade and sun at the same time, she dropped her prey and settled down.

One of her large paws was possessively placed upon the dead body, the other tore at the skin and she pushed her snout in and began her breakfast. It had been so long since she had felt the warm metallic taste of blood on his lips, that she couldn’t help, but growl like a beast that had been kept years without fresh food. Shoulders rolled and her fur bristled as she tore into the carcass, her muzzle getting damp with blood.
