Welcome to Canis Major

a wolf and animal rpg (role-playing game)

Canis is a writing community for play-by-post (forum-based), freeform roleplay set in a fictional dream world in the intrusion fantasy genre. Most characters on Canis are wolves; many play elements are focused around wolves and canids, but the world makes room for a large variety of other animal characters such as dogs, horses, cats, bears, deer, and many, many more.

Our community is focused on flexibility, creativity, and collaboration. That boils down to a few important features:

  • There is no set activity requirement to write
  • The setting and plot are member-created and staff-supported
  • The game is continuously improved to increase fun and decrease stress

It was times like these that he was happy to have the curse he was given, and now passed on to his daughters. But this time, he was happy, and not mourning what he had lost before even using it. Travelling was a breeze, even with a pup in tow as they left home and travelled south. Taking little rest every once in a while knowing not to push himself too far should it put them both in trouble.

But rest was brief. He had a child to look after and as soon as he felt they rested long enough, he'd pick her back up and continue their journey.

The familiar snowy mountains were a breath of fresh air; and as soon as they arrived he placed his daughter down to call the only one he could trust with an issue such as this. @Quicksilver, he beckoned the Emperor to him at the borders. “Do you remember daddy talking about a friend? This is his home.” He'd say to @Katja while waiting for the druid to make his royal appearance.

Her annoyance at being carried was ignored by her father, as were her intermittent, indignant complaints. While he had explained it to her, Katja was still convinced that she didn't need to be carried all the way south; were she normal, it might have made her neck and scruff hurt but all she felt was the sway of her father's gait.

Relief swept through her when they finally arrived, leaving the little iceling to sit next to her father and wait for the man he'd told her about. “What's his name?” She asked, looking to him before looking up at the peak before them, trying to see if she spotted Father's friend.
