let's sleep a little longer ...

 once in a while, right in the middle of ordinary life, love gave her a fairy tale.

  eyes of pure emerald glimmered open as the strawberry woman glided against gentle waters upon a leaf boat. the cradle of the waves were gentle caresses, coaxing her to the unfamiliar shore. but even the unknown couldn't keep her breath in tact. there, before her very pupils, was an island unlike any other. in every lifetime, aerwyn would picture a place like this as a haven - the happiest place on earth.

  filled to the brim with childish wonder, aerwyn wasted no time in pouncing off the boat and onto the shining shores. her pristine and vibration pelt shimmering in the sun like a seashell. she was exactly where she belonged - nestled up upon a shore where the waves can leisurely lap at her paws. so when a familiar, lumbering body came into view... the woman felt her heart stutter. no. it couldnt be.

  hesitation was not a trait aerwyn possessed as she propelled herself forth. there was not a single thought in her head as she shredded the distance between herself and the man she had been looking for. "CALLLLLLLLAAAANNNNNNNN!!!" her voice screamed out, the frantic excitement evident in her tone before she committed to crashing into him. her smaller frame collided with his own at full force, knocking the brute down in a tumble of flailing limbs.

 without giving the beast a moment to think, she scrambled to her paws and pinned the darkest boy down, her forehead firmly pressed against his own as her chest rose and fell with incredible force. "callan? is - is it really you?"

  this was real. He was real. In the flesh. Laying below her, his forehead firmly pressed against her own. She could feel the heat radiating off of his frame, seeping and pouring into her own. She could hear his breath curl up from his nostrils, fanning out against her face. She could feel his paw slip seamlessly along her spine, resting comfortably against her back. Every inch of her body was completely and wholly aware of him. 
  she had imagined this a million times. 
  aerwyn didnt speak for a long moment, her mind reeling from the fact she had found her first friend. First true friend. So when he spoke with that familiar tone and drawl, the strawberry laced girl fought back tears. Her lips pressed into a thin line, her jaw clenching with newfound strength before she buried her face beneath his chin, pressing herself into him. ”i’m so happy you’re okay,” she choked out with innocent sincerity. Small streams of clear liquid fell from her now tightly shut eyes. Controlling her big emotions was never her strong suit, and she never claimed it to be. Every wish on the evening star, every hope and fiber of her being had missed this man, and had willed it into the stars that he would be okay. Just hearing him speak so casually, even using words she was not familiar with, was a dream come true. 
  prying herself back from his embrace, aerwyn quickly wiped away her tears and gave the brute some space. Her smile was wide and unfaltering, and her tail swayed a mile a minute behind her. ”i have no idea what you just said, but well circle back to that,” she said with a chirp. ”am i okay, are YOU okay?!”, the lady barked. ”i woke up one day to find you, and you.. you were gone,” aerwyn said with a slight flick in her tone before continuing and covering her slip with her usual cheerful glee, ”what happened?’
