Welcome to Canis Major

a wolf and animal rpg (role-playing game)

Canis is a writing community for play-by-post (forum-based), freeform roleplay set in a fictional dream world in the intrusion fantasy genre. Most characters on Canis are wolves; many play elements are focused around wolves and canids, but the world makes room for a large variety of other animal characters such as dogs, horses, cats, bears, deer, and many, many more.

Our community is focused on flexibility, creativity, and collaboration. That boils down to a few important features:

  • There is no set activity requirement to write
  • The setting and plot are member-created and staff-supported
  • The game is continuously improved to increase fun and decrease stress

The terrace was an odd little place, dotted with succulents despite being next to an icy mountain range. But Lyra supposed it had to do with the oddity that was the place. There was air of mystery here, something that was not of the natural world but it never did cause her any harm. Other than stealing her memories. Lyra hated that it had robbed her of the memories of her time here, though she was glad her past was forgotten. The burn scars on her forearms were the only tether she had to her past, and whatever it was, it was not something she wanted to know.

Lyra had grown to enjoy the life she was now living, though it may have something to do with a certain gentleman. Lyra would never admit that she had started to fancy the rider that she accompanied, but she hoped she hid it well enough. She tried not to show too much around @Temujin, acting as though everything were casual. Well, she hoped it was.

The woman had busied herself with studying the succulents that dotted the terrace, her ochre eyes narrowing as she focused on one plant in particular. Its leaves had a unique hue to them that she had never seen before, and it intrigued her. Lyra began studying the succulents near her, never truly paying attention to her surroundings.

Encountering a garden reminiscent of Eden was an unexpected sight for the porcelain doll, Solene. Recognizing it as a symbol of prosperity, she hesitated to advance quickly. Instead, she proceeded slowly into the Veria Terrace, her nose twitching as she took in the various mingled fragrances that nature presented.

Her eyes, slightly blurred, would gaze upon the flowing, undisturbed waters of this serene lake – a tranquillity that not even the amphibians beneath dared to disrupt.

The females' breathing quickened when they detected the scent of an unfamiliar presence amidst the usual sweet aromas. A female.

Solene lowered herself cautiously, her tail tucked between her hind legs as she attempted to discreetly move past the occupied area. Unaware of her direction, she inadvertently approached them. The female halted abruptly as her keen eyes discerned a figure ahead, focusing intently on them.

She observed them quietly, stepping back momentarily. However, her paw pads crunched a branch beneath her, breaking the silence with an echo. Recognizing that there was no turning back, Solene bowed her head, silently acknowledging the presence of another.
