Injuries: Deep cuts under her chin/neck area.

She was in the first wave of three, rushing the beast. She'd run as fast as she could but the tiger was faster still and backed his rear down to protect his feet. Gyrfalcon instead found purchase on his hip and tore the skin there... until a sudden force slapped her away. She felt it in her chin as she was slapped forcefully away. Her head snapped back and her body followed as she was flung through the air. She noted the appearance of a russet, white, and black pelt soaring over her while she went under. She realized that it was @Orlaith as she crashed into the snow, dazed. She was lying on her back for a few seconds, blood spilling onto her fur from several deep cuts on her chin and neck. Fortunately, none of them were life threatening but they did bleed.

Gathering her wits, she rolled to her stomach and shook her head to clear it. In an instant, the sounds of battle rang back in her ears and her mind was clear again. Adrenaline blurred the feeling of pain and boosted the righteous anger that she felt. Wolves were swarming Kuhn and she would be damned if she gave up now. She lurched back to her paws, shaken, but not out yet. She looked for an opening and then would lunge again towards the hip she'd already injured, trying to tear it open further. She would pretend like he was prey and she was trying to open wounds to wear him out and bring him down.

They had remained intent upon the cause. The snowfall escalated, and their trail paid off in due time. Along the way, Antares tried to think of the ways this should play out for them, or what he hoped to see honestly, but there were many of them--and a great strength to meet, too. But it didn't take them long to finally descend on the tiger, as well as his wolf comrade from two sides at least. In the weather, with so many, it was easy to lose exact track.

Others of the first wave made their marks, all to various successes. The cat could evade some of them, even swipe back. Already, at this opening glance, he found it difficult to predict his motions--what would a cornered tiger do? But he knew he had to let it all go, and soar with the moment; he had fought great, foul beasts before. Never ones like this precisely, but it was time to lean into some sort of old instinct, let it all go--and head gnashing and fighting into the other side of this, one way or another.

When he went launching into the fray with all the momentum he could build, Antares aimed his teeth for the tiger's shoulder. Others were bearing down upon him too. All of them a potential wound, or a distraction for another slice elsewhere. Didn't matter in the end. He wouldn't be able to fight them all back, no matter how great.

Everything moved far too quickly. One second they were still strolling through the blizzard to find their target, the next everyone was rushing in to start the attack. For a moment she remained behind, watching everyone run in while the reels of previous happenings played through her mind. From these two very individuals trespassing, threatening and completely ignoring wolf-law and tiger/wolf agreements - to these two helping free a woman from a walrus captor.

Surely Tiberius would be furious knowing this.

Surely the Empress would be furious should Tiberius continue to defend Kuhn despite everything he had done along with his accomplice wolf. No one wanted this to happen; and once again the Empress was facing down her own death, but this time with the pack at her back.

It was like she was simply not meant to live. From their past lives, to multiple other instances of near-death in this new life - yet she continued on.

And Sachiko would too. If the Empress could, so could the swan coloured girl.

Valmúa was blocked off from helping her lover - while Kuhn occupied himself with his attackers. Swinging angrily at the smaller wolves who climbed over him and bit. Sachiko would find her place at the other flank where Hotaru was on the opposing side. Biting at the tender skin where thigh meets belly and maybe even sinking her teeth into the tiger's knee if possible.

Maybe if they couldn't kill him, they could cripple him at the very least. Make the beast less of a threat to them.

There was a reason that tiger's feared the wolf.  How many times had his ancestors met this very threat?  It all seemed to be happening in slow motion, watching them all pour in and circle from all directions.  Deep in his bones, he knew this was a fight he could not win. At least not like this.

As his position was enclosed from all sides his eyes found their mark.  In the midst of it all, a cruel gaze found the source of his anger.  Reiko.

No more would he defend , advancing to the source of this treachery, the great cat was halted by a bold frontal attack by that warrior @Orlaith .  Her attack was so unexpected, and reckless that her teeth found purchase on his chest. This warrior thrashed about for a moment, causing the tiger to grit his teeth in pain.  No doubt that would leave a lasting scar.

Since the damage had already been done.  A set of claws found their mark on her side pulling her tighter into the embrace, then down to the floor.  It was almost surgical how the tiger's maw found itself buried in her her neck.  Unlike times before there was no more room for mercy.  Instinct would dictate to him to clamp down, and provide her a clean death.  Though his rage would posses him to lift her entirely off the ground and thrash her two and fro, all the while feeling the snap and yield of flesh.

After a moment, he was finished with her, disguarding what was left of the great warrior mid flight, sending her tumbling into the snow near @Ira 's feet.

Attention returned to Reiko in the midst of the fray, not skipping a beat he continued his advance. Though the hoarde was once again on him. Attacking him from all sides.  He could feel teeth punch through loose skin on his pouch near the belly,  another lash to the shoulder and hip, and a punch of the lower thigh.

A pang of reality went through his mind as he felt teeth find their way into his mane as another found a spot on his back.  This had to end.  There was a limit to what he could take.

Suddenly halting his momentum, the cat lowered his center of gravity, to pitch the clever wolf from his back and dislodge whoever else he could. Though the wolf would get to take with him a tuft of bloody mane. Advancing past Loki, his real target was in site.  That treacherous, bitch-wolf.

Roaring and spitting in defiance, his fangs where stained with both the blood of Oralith and his own, "Come! Defend your master!", claws drawn, the tattered, and bloodied tiger loomed over the little wolf swinging a paw the size of her face with the intent to sever her jaw from her face and watch the whore's head twist in a circle.

Like a flame, it was bright and burning, but went out just as fast. Her impulsive nature of diving head first was also the destined wake of her futile ending. And though she cased marks and scars, battling through with sabers and fangs at a fury of the other ; she was still mortal. Coiling to the toils of the land and attempting to prove herself, the warriorness she thought she always was, and always will be. To the end her loyalty remained true, despite the bastardly ties she kept creating and often frustrating moments to those around her.

A life she remembered was no more, and Orlaith was but like a droid, endlessly hoping for more as she did her duties as a guard. Without regret, but a wish there was more then just the years without memories, and boring times without another to aid them so. Differently, she thought, perhaps if another chance came to be.. She would be kinder, at the very least.

But would never change her core ; the fireclad sovereign, an attempted protector whose life then switched off.. And body, flung to the masses.

Orlaith died in the jaws of the beast.

Tooth and claw flew in a frenzy of white painted red. Her muzzle scrunched, and her claws dug into soil as she took in the scent of blood from everyone that spilled it -- Kuhn, Gryfalcon, Orlaith.....
  Orlaith.....was dead.
-- and Izumi witnessed it all like a horrified bystander watching from beyond the stands. From the moment she heard the stomach-churning 'pop' in the woman’s vertebrae, to the way her figure ragdolled across the snow like a hare's freshly killed carcass. The flame borne, who Izumi felt a radiating sense of invincibility and strength from -- was now gone just as quickly as shed fought.
Those rounded lilacs then drifted their attention to the man responsible for it.
Something bordering a mixture of grief and fear caused her eyes to water when the crane witnessed an expression of loathing she had never seen on Kuhn's face before -- bloodied, beaten, angry, fearful. He could not fight these wolves all by himself; he would surely die.
People belonging to Shiroshika and Vanderfell would surely die.
  Cirilla, Antares, Gry, Hotaru --
  -- and Reiko would....
  Reiko...
  NO!-
Just in time to see Kuhn's paw swinging down upon the snow dove, the crane cried out in a strained, cracked voice of desperation. Her legs moved on their own into a sprint that kicked snow from her hocks -- and before Izumi knew it, before she even decided whether it would've even been a good idea to become involved, she'd made the impulsive decision to intercept.
  And she cried.
Tears traced the corners of her eyes while she ran and ran in knowledge that her decision would destroy something precious to her.
and a leap of faith was taken with her jaws spread apart, seeking to reach the side of Kuhn's face.

'I'm sorry...'

^^There was a lot going on, of course; all these wolves had one target in mind — Kuhn. They snarled and howled; the enemy roared in response, slashing and throwing wolves at other wolves.

It was brutal, but it was a matter of survival for the tiger; for everyone. And everyone’s eyes were on Kuhn, which meant that no one was paying any attention to the tiger’s sole defender. He challenged them to defend their master, and Won smiled, racing into the other direction and howling as loud as he could; howling a challenge to Kuhn, as he raced towards Kuhn’s canine companion, jaws wide open, to connect with flesh; he didn’t care where.

^^Injuries: slash to face; left eye blinded. ||

The Everfrost filled with a sensation of hatred as the tiger and wolves came together in union; roars and snarls filled the air – and with it, came the scent of blood of both parties. The blizzard raged on, just as the attack on Kuhn would until all the wolves were dead, or until the tiger was dead, whichever came first.

A giant, striped devil came to meet Cirilla’s face causing her to yelp in pain as sharp talons found their way through tender flesh, leaving crimson waterfalls in their wake. The dog was thrown to the side, and she slid against the sleek snow a few feet away & there she would lay until she could gather enough energy to get back up to join the fray

His swipe was cut short at the bitch, what was indented to cleave the head from the body of the betrayer fell short, perhaps only grazing the whore, Kuhn didn't know at this point.  A wicked gaze turned to see his friend as blood began to matte the white section of his mane. For a short moment he was more stunned at what he saw than the gash itself, his shock and sadness quickly turned into pure hatred at least enough to match what he felt for Reiko herself.  Every ounce of love he had for that slender wolf, the one who smelled of flowers, the one who cried on his shoulder, his first friend, now was replaced with a confused writhing hatred.  He wasn't even quite sure if he hit Reiko at this point, he couldn't turn to look.  The cats eyes that once looked upon this woman so fondly, now spoke of his desire to methodically disassemble her. He took a single step forward.

Pivoting his ear around, the challenging howl of a wolf rang out.  Suddenly reality came down on him, if he kept this up he would die here, Valmua would die here.  With one last scowl, he stepped back.  He made sure to cover his retreat, swiping at any who would move for his flank.  Making the space he needed the big cat broke into a sprint building momentum to cover Valmua's flank. Damaged, his stride did not carry all the grace it once did, limping and hitching, full of desperate rage.

There was a plume of snow behind his lover,  as the cat came sliding to a halt, the pop of flesh.   When the powder settled back to the earth all could see Won's head forced to the tundra ground.  The wolf had fallen at the flank of his target, his head pinned to the earth in the jaws of the cat.  Long canines slid from the back of the warrior's neck, refreshing the crimson stain of the devil's maw.  Kuhn was aware of what that wolf just made happen, he was forced to choose.  Reiko, or Valmua.  Utter loyalty to such a wicked cause, his kindness and self sacrifice wasted on a putrid soul like Reiko, he could have been so much more.  Reiko the consumer of good souls, disposed of for her glory.  The demon's eyes returned to meet what was left his foes once more.

Backing his hindquarters against @Valmúa covering her flank, he strained to roar again, ejecting blood and spittle from his throat.  He pressed his weight back into her.  She would know he was telling her, It was time to go.  He would never let Reiko have her.

PP approval gained for writing reiko out/stuff with valuma as well as an agreement for the blizzard to start getting bad enough for retreats. This is going to be a long one but people can start pulling out here!! tldr; blizzard is making conditions difficult to attempt to follow and to avoid getting picked off in the storm in unfamiliar territory Ira is calling a retreat to fate's summit (closer than tsukiishi) but SS members are free to just run for SS

As the woman moved, step by step, she could feel the surge of familiarity wash over her. Bodies clashed with the force of thunder as bared fangs spilled red against a canvas of white. To most, it was a picture of chaos and hate, love and fear, yet it was moments like these that she never truly felt more alive. Even as fangs found purchase in her flesh, Ira could feel the electricity rush through her muscles. This is what she knew. This is what she was born into, and this is what she had been molded to consume.

She expected Valmua to retaliate. It came as no surprise when the firelight forcefully shoved her weight into her body. She would likely do anything to reach the side of her companion lest she wished to watch him die just out of reach; though even as she was shoved, Ira would not give her ground so freely. Rabid fangs met their mark, tearing into the nearest flesh Valmua could reach. Ira winced visibly though her fangs only buried deeper as a snarl was forced into the fur of her enemy. Thrashing at her hold wildly, the roan woman would once more attempt to shove Valmua down into the snow where she might stun her long enough to adjust her grip.

From the corner of her eye, Ira would see as others swarmed the beast, each finding a mark while he roared and swung in defiance. For the most part, she paid them no mind. That was no longer her battle and Reiko should have more than enough to keep the man at bay. Instead, she focused on the fangs that flew her way, each bite met with one of her own as Ira looked to tear at the soft skin beside her legs and hip. It was clear Valmua wished to disable her, though she felt no fear nor doubt in her safety for when it came time to return home. Even if she must take days to travel she would do so as a victor. Once her beloved was overwhelmed he would perish and so too would Valmua in the wave of force that remained.

The firelight had never truly been their target, she was only to be distracted; something Ira handled with ease in the snap and weave of fangs while both sought to slow the other down. In a sickening way, it felt akin to a game despite her typical avoidance of war. What part would she sacrifice to better her hold? Where could she strike to weaken her defense? The truth was, there was never a victor even should one come out on top. They all would lose something. The question was how much, and in tandem, was it worth it?

These questions were reminded with ease as the gods spat their trials into the heart of the woods. A large object hurled her way and though she had failed to make out the shape, the impact send a wave of snow and reality in the duo's direction. Ira only had time to recognize the body as one of her own. Though her status was unconfirmed, the way Orlaith's head lay limp amongst the pooling crimson that dyed the earth left little room to question.

Ira was rarely a woman of emotion, certainly so in the heat of battle, though there was no denying her mild pause as she noted the fallen warden before her eyes shifted to the man who had already forgotten her as he looked to take his next target. Had more not been at stake, perhaps she would have turned then and there to avenge her, but the tiger was already a dead man. It was obvious from the slug of his limbs. He may be a powerhouse, but his endurance could only last so long and a better prize stood before her. If he wished to discard lives with little care then she would do the same.

With the ire of the storm to back her, Ira surged for the woman's throat. No longer would she draw out their fight, this ended now.

...or it would have had she properly grabbed hold of her mark. Fangs latched near the base of Valmua's throat, closer to her shoulder than jugular and by no means a grip to crush her windpipe or choke her out. Frustrated, but not discouraged, Ira twisted her head and jerked with every intention to rip flesh from her body and try again. She would lose her chance, however, as the woman shoved her back with enough force to stumble on the fallen warden. By the time she regained her footing, her beast had already begun his retreat as he pushed his torn and battered body against her.

Together or not, both were worn down by now. They still held the numbers to stop them, though as she looked to Reiko it was clear what damage had been done. Numerous bodies laid against frozen drifts, their forms already collecting snow in the winds of the blizzard. Felled or incapacitated it was hard to say. Since their battle started, the snow had only grown thicker and the winds sped with fury making it difficult to register even those closest to her. A frown twisted her features as the man let loose his weakened threat. Perhaps they could win, or perhaps they would be lured and further picked off one by one. It was a decision she did not wish to make, nor before their foe. Instead, she watched with eyes aflame as Kuhn backed Valmua away from the group. Any who dared to pursue would face the snap of her fangs to warn them back. They would not claim victory today, but a message had been made clear. Shiroshika would not stand for their disrespect any longer and any further attempts to torment and toy would be met with their death.

Cease! The call rose above the howls of the storm, her gaze only turning once she witnessed the two cowards run. Gather your comrades, we do not chase. Take to Vanderfell. You may seek shelter with allies until you are fit to return home safely. Silently she wondered who would heed her call. It was the smart thing to do given the wounds of many, though fortunately, it seemed Reiko would agree. It was not the outcome either sought, though they could speak further on what the future held once they counted their losses and tended to those still standing. Once she saw the empress turn, she looked to her paws where Orlaith still lay. There was no question now, the warrior was gone. Her blood stained her paws, literally and figuratively, as she reached for the woman's scruff. A price she knew possible, yet hoped not to pay. She would ensure her efforts weren't for naught. With a careful hold, she pulled and would begin the slow trek home with Orlaith in tow.

Loki had found his mark in the scruff of their enemy. His fangs sunk into flesh, but before he could do much more, the tiger shifted, and Loki went tumbling before him into the snow. A bit of flesh hung from his jaw as he righted himself, expecting the tiger to retaliate. But, Loki was momentarily surprised when the beast paid him no attention at all. Part of him was relieved, but the other part knew this wasn't over.

Loki would advance upon the tiger's form, but he would be too late to stop what happened to Orlaith. He backed up against his wolf counter-part, and Loki squared off, intending another attack. But, the storm had grown stronger, and the snow was getting harder and harder to trudge through. The pair made to leave, and Loki made to follow, but Ira's orders were to retreat, and he didn't want her fangs coming his way. A large part of Loki was relieved. They may not have killed the tiger, but it was possible his injuries would kill him with time.

As Ira grabbed their deceased packmate, Loki made his way over through the thick snow, angling his head under Orlaith's abdomen, just in front of her back legs. He would hoist her up over his shoulders before standing, taking on some of her weight to help Ira take her back home.

That cunt of an empress had thrown everything into sheer madness. Things had been fine. Things had been peaceful. Ira, too, had misread every sign and apparently thrown the gift of Valmúa's trust such that nothing was left. Once more it was just Kuhn and her against the rest of the world, all in spite of them assisting Tiberius in the rescue of someone he cared about. Sachiko had been there, too, and fury lit through her, filling her gut with a terrible wrench as she realized more and more as they fought that they'd been set up just to come back here.
Such tactics were low, even for Reiko.
The snapping of jaws and a wild embrace of tooth and claw kept the red woman from forcing a defence. Her shoulder was mildly injured from the journey and fight with the walrus, but it didn't seem to slow her down yet. Despite the chaos, Valmúa continued to try to throw her opponent away from her, trying desperately to get to Kuhn, trying to be one with him again. Together, they had conquered a great beast. Together, they were powerful. Together, they were unstoppable. Separated, they had become mere animals, clawing at the surface of sea ice, drowning in the terrors of saltwater they had stumbled into.
The tussle between she and Ira drew more pressing, more violent. Each bit into the other and as wolves do, they tore and ripped and grabbed and threw their weight about. Close to her right hip, the crimson warrior's skin became tattered and ruined.
A wolf crashed close to them, but Valmúa did not look. Tunnel-visioned as she was, she was only lit up further by the fell stence of familiar blood.
As fangs pressed into an area so close to her throat, the red woman grew bright with blood, and was lucky to live from the assault.
Yelling wildly, Valmúa threw her weight against the grey mountain scum, bashing into her to push her back momentarily.
They couldn't stay here. There were too many of them. Warrior or not, she would not be able to defend him. Snow was thrown over her as suddenly Kuhn came sliding in between Ira and the red princess. She didn't have the wherewithall to realize what had happened, but at least two of them were down. Either dead or.. incapacitated. In normal times, a flood of desire would have washed over her, but danger was here, and they needed to go.
Valmúa gave an answering "roar," which in her terms was a very unwolfish, dangerous, infuriated, guttural snarling spit. She raised her head up for effect, as though she was howlng as Kuhn roared. Valmúa leaped backward toward familiar terrain, desperately hoping that he would follow. They could not win this. Their only shot was to have him hide somewhere long enough through the blizzard that she could get help. She knew wolves. There were enough to run him down. She wouldn't let it happen.

The fight blazed in him, and when his teeth found first purchase in tiger's flesh, all was a flurry of motion in him and around, before, and after. With enough wolves to swarm, not all of them could even be targeted--but some were, and he knew there was wolf's blood on the wind too. He was thankfully just thrown aside by momentum, and in the chaos kicked up by the thickening snow he felt further hindered. Antares returned for more soon; not a victim of the claws or teeth himself, just another face in the hoard of snarls and teeth. Another was plucked right out of life not too far from him after a head on charge, a sickening sound, and he felt that one more than the others. When he saw Izumi moving in to respond, he was lunging back at the striped hide's hips, too. He didn't want to see the same happen to her or their empress, or anyone else here either for that matter.

But there was only so much control on the situation the wolves could exert. After it seemed to be enough damage dealt on both sides, they couldn't keep the tiger separated from his red wolf. Somewhere in the process, and Antares struggled to right himself and squint through the snow blowing back in his face, he saw only a glimpse of Won ended with another eerie pop. Too close, and another life snuffed just like that for this cause.

Next thing he knew, Ira called above the din for retreat and he was reigning in, biting down on his dying snarl. As much as he hated the outcome so far, there was a closely-following understanding; the snow was making this worse, and they needed to regroup, lick their wounds, collect their dead, and get out of here. Maybe their injuries to the tiger or his wolf were enough to finish them slowly.. he didn't rightfully have time to take proper stock. But, they had to tend to their own new problems now.

His heart was still racing and he started after Ira's route, but turned to look for his packmates before retreating to Vanderfell. He would help gather them first, and try to make sure that they had safe flight out of here at the very least. In all the chaos, it was all he could hope for, but he would be glad to leave this scene behind--and fast.

trying not to add additional wounds since we're all moving onto new threads so hopefully her bites ok lmk if you need me to adjust wording

Though the girl had spent little time thinking, let alone fearing what might come as she bit and thrashed, it only takes one slap to wake someone up. A second for a dream to pitch into nightmares...She had been blinded by bodies to see the initial attack, but not enough so to miss the crimson that poured too quickly on trodden snow. From who, she couldn't say. Not until Kuhn whipped wildly throwing a body far from their dogpile. The princess's grip weakened as she made out the body limp and eerily still across the battleground, though a selfish part of her felt a moment of relief.

It wasn't someone she knew.

A horrible thought she'd surely look back on later, but presently her mind was more occupied with the beast that thrashed and bashed against bodies in an attempt to dislodge them one by one. Her jaws were pried from her grip as he pressed onward, a single paw raised to rain his fire below as another was struck down before he caught sight of his next target. Her stomach lurched as she saw it was now her mother who stood before him.

Her maw opened to protest, but even as she rushed to grab him, what could she really do to stop a creature of his size? The answer was nothing. No matter how strong she made herself, no matter how skilled, she would never have the weight to halt his swipe. NO! Her legs kept moving, but each step only felt heavier as she watched trails of red carved across a face mirroring her own, mirroring @Haruki. For a moment her legs stopped, pale paws skidding with a spray of snow before she could collide with the tiger.

Something had pierced her carried on the waves of shock. She could feel it boil deep in her gut like a parasite as it quickly spread through her body with a touch like fire. Snarling she lurched again, this time sinking fangs where flesh had already been torn and bloodied. She held no real goal in mind as she pulled looking to deepen the wound. He could suffer and die like all the rest who take and take.

Ironic surely

Now it was her fangs that did the same, but perhaps that was the parasite.

Alas, she wouldn't be able to keep her hold for long as Kuhn swiped at any body that lingered too long, herself included. Managing to back up to his partner in crime, both would call out with strangely warped growls and howls weathered by draining energy. Even with two of them they were both weakened. They could finish this— they could actually win! Watching as the two turned tail, Hotaru was already racing to follow before a woman called for them to stop. She'd recoil in confusion as she glanced between the roan woman and where the two had departed. They'd be stupid to stop now and she full-hearted planned to follow until fangs snapped her way.

The pale girl's lip curled at the rejection, though once her eyes met gold the fight would flee from her body. She wasn't sure if it was dread or the haunting feeling she was given by the other, but she'd be first to break their gaze. It was only once she turned that she realized the reason for her call... Marks of red now painted the ground where they stood. Some were collapsed in banks of snow, some moving, others gone. Lavender would quickly seek for the pelt of her friend, though relief would wash her to see @Sachiko still standing. They were to retreat to Vanderfell...a place she had only heard of until now.

Once more her limbs felt heavy like she had been fused with the ground, but they could not stay here. Not with the storm and not with Kuhn and his friend on the loose. It would take a moment to will the feeling back to her legs as she stared at hints of blood marking her fur. At this point, she was unsure if any was hers to begin with, or where hers ended and Kuhns began. She supposed it mattered little, but a part of her wished for his to be the majority. Looking back to packmates and allies alike, she too would turn to follow towards foreign mountains.

It was almost as if the all-maker agreed with his decision to back into his lover.  The storm a pure and primal force solidified what needed to happen. It almost asked the question: what was more important, gutting Reiko, and dying here. Or choosing a better path, to live on with his lover.

In-spite of the fact that he was made to play a monster.  The cat decided, he was in control here, and he would be back.

How could, he spit in the face of creation, who had so clearly given him a path, a sign.  As the faces he hated, began to blur and obscure in the sleet, he calmly took the opportunity to turn and leave. But, not before the disgust and content for these wicked creatures could plaster his face.

He would not forget their treachery.
