Welcome to Canis Major

a wolf and animal rpg (role-playing game)

Canis is a writing community for play-by-post (forum-based), freeform roleplay set in a fictional dream world in the intrusion fantasy genre. Most characters on Canis are wolves; many play elements are focused around wolves and canids, but the world makes room for a large variety of other animal characters such as dogs, horses, cats, bears, deer, and many, many more.

Our community is focused on flexibility, creativity, and collaboration. That boils down to a few important features:

  • There is no set activity requirement to write
  • The setting and plot are member-created and staff-supported
  • The game is continuously improved to increase fun and decrease stress

The sandman kept her, wove into her dreams and ripped her from reality to his playground. Sibyl blinked, gaze bright and endless like it often was, as firefly light twinkled back in the reflection. He dropped her here to play with her, she was certain, as this remained her body, four legs and fur, and gone was the way she felt the ocean in her veins.

Sibyl was not the one who's fury was obvious, or explosive, or seen that often. Her fury was often cold and cutting like the harsh waves of the sea, but in that moment, Sibyl, despite the ethereal beauty that surrounded her, felt explosive. Here, in his world, Vindicta was not by her side, and her Sisters did not join her.

The muttering voices in her head were not soothed, but ignited, and she gasped with the way fury felt different in this skin. It beckoned her into its depths like a wanton temptress, and she bowed forward on lithe legs as she willed it to her command. She demanded its obedience, but they fought back, and Sibyl wondered if this is what calamity felt like.

Suddenly she was moving, a symphony of light amongst a soft mist and dancing lights, and Sibyl's gaze was unblinking as she sought an anchor, a distraction, to the way it all felt so unlike her.
