Welcome to Canis Major

a wolf and animal rpg (role-playing game)

Canis is a writing community for play-by-post (forum-based), freeform roleplay set in a fictional dream world in the intrusion fantasy genre. Most characters on Canis are wolves; many play elements are focused around wolves and canids, but the world makes room for a large variety of other animal characters such as dogs, horses, cats, bears, deer, and many, many more.

Our community is focused on flexibility, creativity, and collaboration. That boils down to a few important features:

  • There is no set activity requirement to write
  • The setting and plot are member-created and staff-supported
  • The game is continuously improved to increase fun and decrease stress

Tiberius didn't often dream the same dream twice.

Nightmares — they were a different story. He had the same ones plenty of times.

Yet he found himself in the same place as before and this time, he wasn't entirely sure it was a dream. He wouldn't be opposed to deciding that it was simply magic, and he was just a man and so he could not determine here what was real and what was not.

This time, he was not yet faced with another, no lemon and honey invading his senses, but instead a dancing light show of fireflies as they shifted the light mist that coated the ground. It dispersed against their movements, moving against the light show and Tiberius, for a moment, simply felt at ease. The heat remained, thick but not suffocating, not yet, and so the titan settled on his rump and let his shoulders slacken. A familiar ache coursed his frame that made him feel far older than his years, and he wondered if in all of this world jumping if it had done anything to his body.

Did it age him, did it keep him stagnant, did it mess with the innards he could not see or judge?

He didn't know, and wouldn't know, in the end.

So he didn't think about it, and instead wished he had some type of paste to help with the aching in his body. Watching the fireflies dance and weave, Tiberius breathed.

It felt like the first time in forever.
