temporary apparel?

could my character arrive in canis wrapped in ancient bandages, which fall apart when interacted with? i have this idea for my character first appearing wrapped up like a breathing mummy, and the attempts of whoever finds them to touch them would result in the wrappings essentially disintegrating into unusable dust and fibers.
