somewhere nearish hraf but not on the border. open to one other!
Prompt: You come across a place that seems like a haven like no other. A pond, the sun shining in the small flower patch at just the right angle.. Yet a whispering is within the wind, an echoing of a beast.
Solitude in the wilderness was treating her well. Haku was thinner than she used to be, struggling to catch enough to feed herself, and her fur was unkempt and dirty, but she was happy. No other wolves meant no expectations, and no expectations meant freedom.
Haku had craved this her entire life.
There was a mountain in the near distance, a massive, shadowy presence that filled her with both a sense of dread and thrill alike. What was up there? Would she get the opportunity to find out? She supposed that she was free to do whatever she pleased, so barring the presence of other wolves, there was really no reason not to.
The mountainous backdrop made the pool she discovered even more beautiful. Alpine flowers drifted in the breeze, lit golden by the setting sun. Haku padded over to it, this oasis in the tundra, and dipped her head to drink.
But something felt strange. There was no birdsong in the air, no prey wandering about. Just Haku and this vast expanse of wilderness, stretching between her and the mountain.
She was alone.
Or, so she thought.
