following the encounter at the border, cassian felt a sense of unease lingering beneath his skin. philosians lived in a sense of isolation near the sea, never truly meeting others except those who awaken within the borders. and that was how he liked it. he had lived that way once, isolated within his tower of thorns soon after his mother's death. but now, things were changing. his world was being infiltrated, strangers invading the borders he worked to secure upon his reawakening.
and gods damn her. cassian hated the fact that she had decided the stranger was worth helping. he hated the fact she opened her mouth to embarrass him in front of others. in another time in another world, he would have appreciated her interference. but now? after so much time has passed and all he received were looks of resentment from vanille, it vexed him.
once the woman came into his sight, the man set to settle this once and for all. “come. we need to talk.” he growled as he passed, setting his path towards the peak he spent most of his time at. cass didn't care if this ended with her not speaking to him—he'd gone months not speaking to her before. but it felt as if now were the time to air their grievances—and gods know she had some. despite his lingeringfeelings—or whatever they were—for her, he would not tolerate this behavior. not from her or anyone else.
