Appearance

Lorcan is a Borzoi (Russian Wolfhound) wolf dog, which gives him a very lanky appearance. He's taller than the average wolf, though skinnier, and his nomadic lifestyle doesn't lend to his ability to keep weight. Bright blue eyes compliment the cool grey undertones of his coat, shining almost blue under moonlight. Lorcan's snout is a tad longer than a full wolf's and his ears have been trimmed to point menacingly upwards. Has a fishhook stuck in his ear.

Personality

Anarchy is his life's calling. Lorcan is all about staying wild and free, and never submitting to oppressors. When there's an injustice, he stands against it even if he's going to lose. This halfbreed is aloof, happy go lucky, and loud when he's comfortable, but rather quiet and observant when there's something bothering him. All in all, he's a pretty upstanding guy! Lorcan has the potential to be a leader, but prefers to hang back and let others make the big choices.

History

Posing the question of Canis potentially serving as the afterlife, Lorcan remembers a past as a guard dog on a ship in international waters that transported prisoners from surrounding areas to Russia's icy shores. The sailors kept him as a deterrent for anyone who might think about escaping their cells, and though he did his job well, his conditions were none too different from the prisoners aboard the vessel. One day, Lorcan befriended a rather large human prisoner and throughout their voyage, would bring scraps to the inmate as discretion allowed. However, when he found this prisoner crying about the children he'd never see again, Lorcan knew he had to do something. It struck him hard against his heartstrings, knowing that there were siblings he'd likely never see again either because of the same wardens who kept them both under lock and key. So what did he do? He stole those keys and gave them to the prisoner, who opened those locks. Together, bullets flying, the unlikely pair fled from the guards and jumped ship into frigid waters. They escaped, found dry land, and started a new life in the wilderness. Lorcan felt as if he finally found his human, the one person he could truly be a dog for...but the dip in frozen seas made both man and wolfdog sick. Eventually the prisoner passed, leaving Lorcan frozen, sick, and alone. So he began wandering, searching for anyone who might be able to help him when one night, the snow chilled Lorcan to the core. He passed out...or at least he thought he did, but when he woke next the snowy forest seemed different somehow. His body felt...better? Better than it had in months. He struggled to recall the reasons why, but he awoke with a strong urge to live free. As the weeks dragged on and Lorcan marched for miles on end, he began to recall less and less of the world he knew until nothing but his own name clung in his recollection. Now he's a roamer without a past to speak of, traveling from place to place.
