APPEARANCE

Aberthol has few things that one can consider soft about him, from his mangled fur to his mangled form, to the perpetual attitude and gruff, clipped tone, even his appearance is a messy mixture. The first noticeable trait about Abe is the fact that his body is littered with deep scarring throughout, and more easily is it seen in the areas where his fur no longer grows, from the gashes that mar his face across the top of his muzzle and down the sides to his upper lip, to the jarring appearance of his legs littered with severe scars that seem to dance about his legs, to the missing toes on his right foot which leaves him to have a permanent limping stride. Framed for the murder of his merchant family at a young age, he was imprisoned and sold into slavery not long after to work for one infamously named man known as Harkon—the wolf who gave him his scars, a reminder of his past. His tail was cut in half and two of his toes were taken as punishment each time he tried to escape and, when that did not impede the man, his tongue was severed in half as well, leaving Aberthol a forced mute, selective in his now garbled speech. His head is a muted brown, with grizzled fur around his mouth and nose and pallid eye dot markings above his jasper green eyes, which bleeds down from his head across his chest, shoulders, and part of his back into a pale brown, sometimes mistaken to be of cream or off-white color. Light ticking flicks gently across the entirety of his body, but is much more pronounced upon his legs. His nails, gums, nose, the flesh about his eyes, and his paw pads are all a dark, ruddy pink tint. He is not outstanding in height nor weight, being lean but not unkempt in his bodily weight, at least. As for his fur, it is often dirty, messy, and matted save for the times when he sheds out his winter coat.

PERSONALITY

Aberthol could be called a pirate, a profession he took up after escaping his ordeal. He's described as being brash, as honest as he is dishonest, he dislikes authority, is selfish, greedy, and possessive of things that're his even if he's stolen it off of you in the first place because he's a natural born thief. He's uncooperative, uncommunicative, bellicose, aggressive, often a times violent, misanthropic, nihilistic, melancholic, and will get himself drunk at first opportunity if he can find fermented, overripe fruit. There are few things that make Aberthol a happy man, but among comrades he's the quiet, amicable type—that is until they hit a nerve or press a button of his, which often they do, and he can be verbally loud, vulgar and abusive despite his lacking of a full tongue. Although it appears the irreparable damage done to his mental state and his physical state have done little to halt his life thus far, he is still prone to bouts of panic or anxiety which he tries his hardest to keep a wrap on, the worst of his troubles being terrible nightmares which majority of the time will wake him up out of a dead sleep, leaving him unable to return to that relaxed a state until a later time. He prefers to be self-taught, meaning he won't ever ask for help, ever, but it also makes him a jack of all trades in many skills from healing to scouting, etc. His spitfire nature makes him a target for fights, whether he, his comrades, or another started it is not the question but who finishes it, and often a times that is where Aberthol's competitive trait comes into play—he enjoys winning, and is a truly sore loser. He's a man of few morals besides who can give him the most of what he wants, or who holds his interest the longest, and so his loyalty is as fickle as a wave. He doesn't say what he means a lot of the time, in actions or in words, but a lot of the time he does, his emotions seem to be a folly of his because he can't seem to not hurt those around him even if he finds camaraderie alongside someone or is romantically attracted to them; but for someone rough around the edges and mean as fuck, Aberthol is protective of those he cares about.
