Appearance

Arroyo is a gangly yearling with a phasing coat. Most of him is a shaggy grey with darker fur underneath, but his face, ears, legs, and tail have deepened to black. Each of his paws has a white "sock."

He's shaping up to be strong young wolf, even if he hasn't quite grown into his paws and limbs yet.

Personality

While he's only a yearling, Arroyo was once everything a cult leader could want in a pawn. He was malleable, loyal. Seemed to blindly obey whatever he was told. Until the whole traitorous murder and escape debacle, that is; now he's outlawed and will be thrown into the Maw if he ever returns.

Underneath his awkwardly phasing pelt, Arroyo is growing strong. He's got the makings of a young warrior, with musculature well suited to fight. This was a boon to him within the pack, as was his readiness to risk life and limb to protect it, but now that he's thoroughly disenchanted by cult life, he is taking on a more pacifistic approach to life.

There are times when his young age is painfully apparent. He can be naïve and gullible, overly trusting. Sometimes he is seized by an uncontrollable whim to play, and doesn't always known when to stop.

He still has hangups due to the traumas he faced while he and Opossum were part of the pack. Parsing the cult pack's lies from reality is a work in process, but Arroyo is more than ready to learn to be a "normal" wolf.

History

Arroyo and his brother were the only surviving pups of their litter.

They were born into the Pack of the Resplendent Maw. The short form is this: it's a cult and everyone in it is bonkers. More on that later.

Opossum was thought to be the Maw's next set of eyes. He dreamt of his own death by sacrifice to the teeth of the Maw, and to Arroyo's horror, told the pack's elders. While Arroyo had always been a good and obedient pawn, he couldn't stand by and see his only littermate dashed on the jagged canyon walls.

He rescued his brother, but in the process forced him to help commit a murder and outlawed them both from the only home they'd ever known.
