Appearance

Nevisca's wintry exterior mirrors her cool demeanour, blue-grey coat with mixtures of stormy-grey and white in various patterns across her entire body. Each limb is a dark, brooding blue-grey in colour, neutralised only by the three off-white socks. These same three paw-pads are pink in colour, but that of without white is a colour similar to that of her nose, which is more in a blue-grey tone than the rest of her body. Upon her face is a dark-blue pointed fade, arching upon her brow. A silver blaze runs from the nose to her forehead, as well as a few 'freckles' across the bridge of her nose and between her eyes. Nevisca's tail is a light grey, that runs in a strip upon her spine and spreads unto the fur upon her back, as well as around her neck, ears and head. A lighter grey, or off-white, colour is blended into the tip. Her ears are a pale, desaturated pink, and both eyes an ice-cold shade of blue. The fur upon her neck is thick, draping across her back in an almost gown-like fashion, and her cheek fur is long and luxurious, though often irritating to her in the wind.

Personality

Nevisca is a bold, genuine wolfess with an unmatched personality. Though cold in her exterior appearance, inside she is a burning fire. Though she is genuine and loyal, she is also raw and brutally honest, and will be open with another wolf if she believes they are not of the best of natures. Nevisca acknowledges and embraces her flaws, but does seldom much to change them, especially if she feels as though she is not in control of such things. Perhaps a side-effect of this, she is not easily embarrassed, intimidated or fearful of anything or anyone. A wolf who might make an attempt to pick a fight or argument with her, would most likely be met with sarcasm and, on rare occasions, even a smidgen of flirtation. She can, and will, bite back when necessary.

When overstimulated, she often appears agitated and irritable, pushing others away, and using harsher words than she might usually. She can be both impulsive and self-destructive; a most formidable combination, especially mixed with both her stubborn heart and mind. At the root of her being, however, her heart is normally in the right place, especially regarding her pack. Nevisca cherishes those who dare to become close to her, and will do anything in her power to keep them safe. Once someone has wormed their way into her heart, they will have certainly found a friend for life and no one more loyal.

History

In the middle of the most bitter winter one could imagine, Nevisca was brought into the world alongside two other pups. Born snow-white in colour, her parents crested her with the namesake of Nevisca, meaning 'light snowfall' or 'blizzard'. Before too long, her true colours began to show; first grey in colour, before fading into the luxurious blue roan she now possesses - a shadow of her father himself. Her two siblings could not withstand the cold, their already short lives cut even shorter by the conditions unfairly granted to them. Her parents coddled her, and she grew knowing nothing but love and a succinct lack of fear within her life. Nevisca took a shining to hunting at a young age, her father often taking her out for short expeditions at a time; she was but eight months of age when she brought home her first baby rabbit, much to her mothers' delight. She honed her skills over the next year and a half, until one winter where prey seemed more scarce than before.

Nevisca's parents told her to stay at the den, to keep guard whilst they hunted as a pair - together, they were the most formidible hunters in the forest. Nevisca knew this better than any wolf that had come before her. She waited by the mouth of the den until the next sunrise. They did not return that dawn, but it was not unheard of that a hunt should take several days at a time. And so, she waited... and waited...

And waited... and waited.

Until finally, after two weeks of waiting, she came to realise that they may just not return. Unhappy with that thought alone, she took the liberty of leaving the den at last and following the stale scent of her parents. It had grown weaker over the time they had been gone, but her well-trained nose could have picked their scents out amongst a thousand others. It had taken her half a day for the scent to finally become a fraction stronger, but it had grown bitter and tangy with the stench of something more. Something sinister. As she edged her way through the foliage, she had finally found her parents.

They had not been in the way she had last seen them.

Sprawled across the grass, side-by-side, lay her mother and father. Great gashes lined their broken bodies, one of her mothers' legs had been completely severed from her body. There was another scent in the air; one not so familiar, but still unmistakable. A bear had done this. Feeling both overwhelmed and underpowered, Nevisca quickly got to work and buried her parents beneath a grand oak tree with what little strength she had left. She did not linger in the area long enough in case the bear made a surprise return, but she made the time to mourn the loss of her only family.
