Suzune is beautiful.
At first glance, she appears to be nothing more than a pretty face. She goes to great lengths to care for herself as her profession revolves around physical appearance. She has long dark fur with an uncanny pair of yellow cat-like eyes. She’s delicate, fragile. One touch too rough, and she'll crumble. Her physique is an entertainer’s, not a fighter’s.
Suzune grew prettier as the years passed, but it was more of a curse than a blessing. Her culture did not value a woman as much as a man, and how unfortunate she was to be born into a family that saw her as nothing but a means to fetch a little more money to prepare for winter. In a small village, many men offered a dowry for her hand in marriage; however, her father would reject them all under the pretense that she was worth more, but this was not a compliment.
Sold to a foreign man and forced to abandon her lifestyle for one of the red-light districts. Castaway to a city far from home, it was apparent she didn’t belong. Here, she had nothing; she owned nothing — not even herself.
This was her first real-world experience.
Upon entering the brothel house, she managed a variety of indoor chores while being educated about literature and art by other courtesans. Suzune continued until she came of age to become a courtesan herself. She continued working like this for a few years and began to grow accustomed as a prostitute. However, her bit of normalcy would quickly end when a client, too drunk and too violent, crashed beside her. He was cruel, and he liked how she looked, even more so when it was her life at the whims of his hand. In that brief moment, the feral and canine instincts she had long suppressed shot through her as a bullet would. It was fast, and her body moved faster than her mind could process. Only when the deed was done did she stumble backward with a dying customer on her bed.
Fear fueled her to run further and further away as she burst through the paper doors and into the forest. She could her sins crawl up her back as she ran until the trees blurred and the fog rolled in, causing her to lose visibility and roll down a hill, striking her head against a rock as she did and landing unconscious at the base of a tree, eventually waking up in Canis.
