Personality
ABRASIVE && CALLOUS. He has no difficulty focusing on his goals when faced with the white noise of others around him. On a more casual basis, his lack of concern for any kind of social matter makes him truly transparent: you usually know exactly what he’s thinking because he doesn’t care enough to hide it. Because of how detached he’s become, it may be easier for him to navigate devastating circumstances when compared to someone less hardened. Also, decisions that others may find difficult over personal involvement, are a lot more black and white for him with very little emotional attachment. Most of his relationships will be superficial at best. He lacks empathy and doesn’t feel the same impact when faced with traumatic events. And it may be easy for him to hurt another’s feelings without even realizing (or caring) that he’s done so.
EVASIVE && UNCOMMUNICATIVE. It is far easier for Kaiden to slip into the role of a listener over anything else. He is certainly not one to share and tell when it comes to the deeply rooted thoughts, feelings, or other parts of his life. More or less, he’s guarded, with the incapability of opening up. It will be difficult to establish any kind of emotional connection with him. Some may assume that he is self-absorbed. Others may reject him when their attempts at connection are rebuffed. Likewise, he’ll have a hard time reaching out and pursuing friendships or love interests … if he has any interest to do so at all.
ANALYTICAL && LOGICAL. Kaiden is a thinker, and does his best to see deeper into a problem than someone else might. He enjoys the process of metaphorically reducing an object or issue to its base components in order to see what’s working, and what needs improvement. He works well alone, is dedicated and intelligent, and is a strong problem solver. Unfortunately, he does have the tendency to get lost in the details and miss the big picture. His mind is always working, which can make things difficult when it comes time to wind down and relax. In his line of work, he’s constantly posing what if? questions. The purpose being: to answer as many inquiries as he can ask himself. To be constantly learning himself, and enjoying the pursuit of information. Because of this, he would make a halfway decent teacher. Investing time and effort into explaining how the world works. As long as his student(s) could keep up with him.
CONTROLLING && HAUGHTY. He is relentless when it comes to his pursuit of perfection. And in that, he may push his family members and few close relationships to do the same. But because of his controlling nature, he can be overly critical of others. He has a hard time delegating work to others, believing that no one could perform as well as he could in certain fields. He has become overly confident in his abilities, truly believing himself to be in the right. When faced with a challenging medicinal situation, rest assured that he will be the first one to rise to the task. He is bold when speaking opinions, and unafraid to take action to further his beliefs and values. And he can certainly be counted on to put forward ideas and opinions when leadership or decision making is needed.
CRUEL && MORBID. There isn’t much of a struggle for Kaiden to derive questions from answers when most others would be too unnerved to explore. Death and pain are very much a natural part of life, and through trying to understand it all, he has an appreciation of life. For a healer, he has a fascination with death. And just how close he could let one come to it without reaching the point of no return. He feels as if it's a competitive game with the reaper himself. A puzzle to be figured out and pieced together. No, he’s not a healer for anyone else’s benefit than for himself. In times of boredom, with no naturally occurring injuries to attend to, he gets the urge to create them in others. And at his very foundation, he is a taker, not a giver.
PERCEPTIVE && STRATEGIC. Kaiden has excellent observational skills, and is accurately able to assess what is coming down the road and how to prepare for it. An astute problem solver, it takes him no time to arrive at a solution. By taking care of problems before they occur, he can spend his time focusing on more important tasks rather than dealing with the fallout that comes from lack of planning and foresight. Because he’s likely to follow the path of least resistance, he can have a hard time with those who don’t do the same. He can also become impatient when others miss what he can obviously see. History
The last born son between the union of Neios and Astrid Saxe was your typical hellspawn. While his father visited him and his siblings often, it was his mother that had nurtured them from the moment they were born. Mama never told them there was a devil in me. However, as they grew older ... the good intentions that Astrid had tried so hard to pass on to her children, never had the opportunity to truly flourish in the empire of Saxe. Him and his siblings were corrupted as soon as they could leave the den on their own, with no hope of redemption. I gotta mouth full of rotten, and a heart full of greed. There was never any indication of his underlying condition until they became old enough to train. Neios was very strict in the ways he would shape his spawn. Pushing them to physical strength along with the skills they would need to hold their own in a fight.
Though on a particularly difficult day of training, he had felt something within his chest shudder, followed by an irregular throbbing pain. Though, he was afraid of his father's wrath and disapproval ... so he had chosen to ignore his body and force his drive. Well it ain't worth living, if you don't get hurt. It was only a few minutes after that when his heart failed him for the first time. He had hit the ground unconscious as his system fought to reset itself- to recover from the strenuous effort. The next thing he could remember was waking up, but back in his mothers den. As he stirred, he noticed her fighting to clear the sorrow from her voice and tears from her eyes. She explained to him that his survival was pitted on himself maintaining a life with little activity in order to keep a slow heart beat. A genetic disease that she had lost one of her own littermates to. I gotta head full of darkness, and darkness is good. His father didn't take the news so well. And for quite a time after that, he felt worthless. Longing to be out training with his siblings rather than moping in the confines of a den.
It wasn't until he was subjected to witness his mother treat a particularly brutal injury that his interest in her trade sparked. And from then on, he spent his free time studying the ways of a healer. But if we all die young then we won't get hurt. More curious with solving the problems presented to him rather than fixing the patient. But it was all the same, right?
