Masquerade is not the usual type of female. Her blood is not mixed and her heart is not hurt. She was not gifted with a fair pelt and beautiful eyes. Instead, she is long legged and thin. Her weight is slight compared to her height and her length. Masquerade’s bones are think, sturdy and hard to break. She has large paws that help her stay balanced, but not too large to make other’s notice. Without her thick, long, pelt. She would look thin. Her pelt is what gives her body volume. It’s not that she had the gentle curves of most females, but rather the fur to protect her body. Her pelt is made for winter when she strives from spring.

Grays, tans, and creams make up the everyday fashion for this female. Let’s start from the bottom up. Masque’s under pelt is a light cream, not quite white, but close enough. Her belly, the inside of her legs, part of her chest, and the underside of her neck and cheek bones are this hue. This helps her otherwise dark pelt to lighten. The next hue up from the cream is tan. This color can be seen on the outside of her legs, across the sides of her stomach, her muzzle, tail, and lining her ears. This color can easily blend her in with the forest or anywhere there are trees. Next are the various shades of gray. This color can range from light gray to black and is covering her back and head like a blanket. Her tail is tipped black and there is a black splotch on her right flank. Masquerade had no idea where this came from, only that it is a gift.

Sea foam is the color of the priestess' eye. Masquerade’s eyes are bright on most occasions, but sometimes they turn hazy, clouded with what some might call doubt. Instead, her eyes hold the promise of a caress and mystery. When like that, they do not lack the intelligence that is mistaken for brightness. They resonate understanding and forgiveness. Naïve in her eyes like she is in her personality. Masque doesn’t care how she looks or the color of her eyes. All she knows is that she was gifted with them, and because of that she tries to treat her body like a temple.

Lastly, her voice is foreign and pure, slightly accented from the lands she grew up in. When she speaks, she is quiet and her voice rings with a certainty, even if she is not so sure. It is hard to make her voice raw with anger, for her lyrics are smooth and honed. She is a poet that is used to talking in riddles. Perhaps her voice is the purest thing she was gifted with. One thing is certain, Masquerade knows she is gifted and she hates nothing that they gave her.

This is a female that loves what she does. She is a politician, a wolf that thinks before she acts. She may be passionate, but she does not let passion drive her. She puts her family first. Whatever they want her to do, she will do it. Her passion is making her family happy and keeping her brother from doing things that are far too rash and inconsiderate in the eyes of others. A female that can tame an audience with her selective words is a female with her own type of power. Passions that are truly her own are undiscovered and still hidden to the eye. She spends all her time learning and being the female that she is expected to be rather than who she wants to be. She still has to open her eyes to the world and discover what it has to offer. Instead she offers it what she has and leaves everything undiscovered. It is not that her family is demanding of her, nor is the fact that they openly express what they want of it. It is Masquerade that thinks what they might expect of her and she strives for that perfection.

Not only is she passionate, but she is quiet. She doesn’t speak unless she has something to say. Some would think of her as a mute, but in her mind there is no need to waste oxygen and words for something that doesn’t need to be talked about. Even when she does speak, her voice is musical and soft like a feather floating to the ground. The only time she might speak more than usual would be when she is singing or reciting poems from her childhood. This is the only thing that is truly a part of her personality. She is a robot waiting to be told what to do or processed to do. This makes her feel less programmed. Her only problem is that she cannot find herself. She is afraid to open herself up to what might influence her. Talking will get her noticed but singing songs and speaking poetry helps her open up to some of what reality has to offer.

Masquerade the fair princess of the lands. She doesn’t like to take sides of any argument, of any pack until she knows what is going on. She listens more than she speaks which gets her more information than one might think. Masquerade isn’t the type of wolf to punish others. Her type of ‘punishment’ is that by pity and understanding. Most wolves who do something terrible expect to be punished and she would rather do the exact opposite. Understanding and pity is her tactic and so far it has been more than efficient. Sometimes, she can twist the thoughts of another wolf all because she can be so understanding, so open to all themes of life despite her obvious lack of an individual personality. She tries her best to be fair to all aspects of life even if she doesn’t quite understand them. It’s acting like you understand that helps her and others.
