Basic Principles
Windmere is settled in the high valley of the mountain region. This pack focuses on the bond that is formed between a male and female. In Windmere, it is believed that wolves bonds make the pack stronger and that through arranged marriages with their allies they secure peace and prosperity for all the region.

The male in this pack will have the superior role as he protects their home and his mate. A female and the fact they can bring life is sacred and special, mistreating them isn't acceptable. If a woman proves her mate has been abusive, the male would be severely punished, and could even be kicked out. The leading pair will then find a new mate for the female.

Breeding rights
Couples have to approach the King and Queen and both must want this. The couple talk separately with the King and Queen to make sure that each of them actually wants them (no forced breeding here!). They will need 3 threads total. The last thread is the ceremony where they meet before the pack  to celebrate the couple at this milestone, if approved by the King and Queen. It is customary to bring them gifts for their future kids, antlers to chew, furs for the floor, meat for a cache for their den, ect.

A couple recently became a mated pair. They are setting their first steps of being nobility in the pack. They will have to work together to climb the ranks.
Envoy
Specific rank given when they are out and looking for potential alliances. This would account for a wolf being gone ranging for a longer time without checking in. This is the only rank where having a mate isn’t necessary.
Matron
Specific rank given to women who either had been abused in marriage or widowed. Often associated with tending to children of the pack, assisting healers and essentially performing common tasks for the good of the pack.

Prince/Princess
Children of the King and Queen.
Honorable
Children of other nobility.
Squire
When puppies show interest in a trade, this rank shows they are under someone’s tutelage. Pups can become a squire from the age of 4 months.
Commonwealth
