Set for 11/7 for timeline purposes. Izumi will be announcing their move towards the mountains!

The crane awoke early that morning within the crack of dawn, stretching her forepaws and shoulders out before walking within the open feilds. Dewy grass was damp against her dark paws and the chill of early sunrise was prominent against skin -- the day had barely even begun and the sun not even risen, yet the cranebird felt it no better time than ever to start what the month has been leading up towards, and that was their move into the mountains. It didn't seem as though more wolves were appearing and thus Izumi wouldn't see any other reason to put the migration on hold. It was high time they started searching for a claim of their own.

Walking towards the platform of an erroded boulder, Izumi stood upon the leveled platform and canted her head backwards into a long, high-pitched howl to gather them all and share the news. Nerves ticked within her belly like worms...this was all still a little new to her, but she would swallow these feelings in place of necessity.

 Izumi called for those who had returned. Tōuma, a prompt individual, showed before anyone else.
 Arriving swiftly within view, the samurai placed himself near the rock, setting where he was closest to Izumi and also able to dive forward in the event harm sought her; as was instinct.
 While though he was curious to know who all would come, he would not crane his neck, nor strain his view. Instead, from a stiff posture, a frigid stare surveyed their surroundings. Whoever did come, he would be one of the first to notice.

Whenever Osamu did eventually sleep, he slept lightly.

He was rarely far from Izumi, nightly visitations with @Suzune aside, following his duty as mentor and helpful ear to the crane. It felt good to have a purpose again, rather than wandering around the land as a hopeless failure, dwelling over past mistakes. This was his chance to start anew - and he didn't wish to squander it.

Her high, confident summons roused him easily, stifling a yawn as he rose. Osamu shook the dust from his pelt and loped toward the sound; she stood tall and poised, whatever anxiousness stirring within her held firmly at bay in light of whatever news she had to impart.

He spied a new face, one unfamiliar to him, but rightly assumed the wolf to be one of her other followers. The samurai nodded his head in mutual acknowledgement, taking his seat nearby - he wondered how many others were out there waiting to appear. The warrior was not particularly sociable or adept at meet-and-greets, but he would make the effort if necessary.

After all - he'd been through enough changes to shock any man.

Osamu glanced down at his paws again and furrowed his brow, still wondering what the purpose of this... displacement into a new body was all about.

Izumi seemed to have a gathering ; is this what they called a wolf pack? Coyotes though have groups called packs as well, they were usually not full of strangers, and tended to be close family and relatives until they sought off to their own mate and kin. She vaguely knew wolves were roughly the same, but they had the knack to balloon up with more then just family — and Sorrell was looking at a prime example of one doing so. She looked at Izumi in a fondness and pride as she called the rest, as curious black eyes scanned at those she not met. There was a flashing of a smile to them all — she was awfully wanting to meet and chatter.

^^The crane bird had called upon her collective, and the wildcat had immediately regretted her decision to follow her sister. She was a canine that enjoyed late nights out, which - in turn - also meant that she enjoyed to sleep in.

Something that her dear sister was robbing Hikari of, and the rest of her collective, which included an older man and a… fox like thing. A fox. Her ears flattened at the sight of her, a scowl on her face. She was already pissy with being awake at such an hour… but seeing a critter that she deemed less than them? Icing on the cake.

Hikari walked past thing with a grunt, coming to sit beside her sister with a smile as blue eyes lingered upon her taller sister; a smile that was definitely faux, looking (and feeling) out of place on her face as eyes seemed narrowed on her sister.

If she didn't have a good reason for all of this, there would be hell to pay.

It was... odd, to not be the only one to heed her sister's call. She saw familiar faces, and ones that were.. fuzzy? even unknown... but one stood out among the rest; a Fujiwara crane who she knew as...

ヒカリ! Aika called, running up to her littermate with a wide beam. She went to sit besides Izumi, and Aika quickly weaved on her heels to try and end up at least partially between the two. “やあ!久しぶりに会ったけど、” The lady chuckled with a soft sway of her tail, paw brushing against the grass.

So many questions, and so little time! Ah, were could the princess even begin? “元気でしたか?太郎もここにいるよね?”

She stayed to, yet away from the group. Like a ranger that stuck just a few yards away. A scout with ever curious eyes, looking out for everyone as they came past.
So, when the ethereal, early morning call howled into the dawn- the huntress made no hesitation to turn on her heels and move to see her.

When she arrived, there was already a few in the gathering. So Riku stuck behind everyone, like some kind of creepy ghost, avoiding the social interaction that often came with it. Eyes gazing at the similarly stoic and flat faced Izumi.

boop thought I'd get this reply up just so it's here, lmk if it needs any edits!

A howl came that sunrise that stirred something in Tsukikage. It had been another one of those things, that called on him to remember his past life and follow it into a new phase.

Without fully understanding why, they forced themself to heed the call. When they arrived, they remained silent and distant as if only a bystander: but they knew they were more than that. He heard one of the canines call out in the other language he knew, calling out to... one of the quintet. One of the families that he'd sworn he would work in service up, once upon a time. At least, that is what it felt like in their heart. But now, Tsukikage did not fully trust these memories any longer. They had recognized the Handmaiden and the Handmaiden had recognized him. Would anyone else? Tsukikage sat back, observing as they always did, wondering how these proceedings would go down.

It appeared he was a little late to the party, being far from the first to arrive. But hey, at least it was fashionable.

Upon his arrival he only took note of Izumi positioned on the boulder, though he quickly searched those gathered beneath for any familiarity. If he was honest he couldn't recognize anyone other than his litter-mates, and he wasn't sure if he should or not. Either way he wouldn't let that fact be known.

Promptly, he chose his seat, deciding it to be one close to the cranebird. Though masked in an air of self confidence, his true meaning was one much less conceded. The oni wanted nothing more than to lend some support to his sister, whether she needed it or not was unbeknownst to him, he'd still offer it.

A call rose from the East, a summons, and Ciri noted something oddly familiar about that voice. She lingered for a moment to linger and listen, her raven lobes high on her crown and a contemplative frown tugging at her maw. Naturally curious, she was definitely intrigued enough to go investigate - but she was anxious of intruding on a gathering that might be important.

In the end, her thirst for knowledge won. The blackbird ventured forward at a jog, her tail swaying at her hocks and her vivid yellow eyes searching trough the foliage of the glade for any sign of the wold who'd howled. She carried on until she spotted very obvious alabaster pelts, with one in particular which was elegant and pointed by obsidian - and the puzzle pieces all fell together as Ciri recognised her as the wanderer she'd encountered at the lakeside. She glanced around at some of the others, and wondered if they were related to her.

She paused a short distance away, feeling that her presence might be unwelcome as others filtered in, but she raised her head and was hopeful to catch the crane's lovely lavender gaze.

The older man stayed quiet as he approached, noticing there were quite a few others here already. Out of everyone here, he only knew of the one that called them all here. And so, he would sit himself down at the back of the ground, listening to see what all would be happening. His eyes were soft as they looked over everyone curious to see what all today would bring.

sorry I'm late!

There was a stir of movement, a soft jingling of a bell, a muffled step of tiny toes. When the call came, she answered it though she was a little later than the others as she had been preoccupied. The music in her head was loud as the call came out, leaving a signal in the back of her mind as she sway from one foot to the next but now she headed into the grouping of wolves and coyote. The royal family back together with their faithful companions, calling and gathering those that wished to still follow their rule.

Her sunset colored body weaved through those clustered about the crane bird, noting that her coat was the brightest within and that caused her ears to heat up in slight self-consciousness. Ah, but perhaps that would help her with her entertainment?

Quickly she reached the one eared samurai, sitting close to his side. If he shifted away she would understand as she was always a more touch craving canine than most she knew, she aimed tonlean into him for both support and friendliness. If he allowed it but her seaglass eyes focused on the princess.

Lol I'm also late, but I will be opening the second round now -- no specific posting order! As of the day this thread takes place we can now assume Izumi has left the plains after nightfall to begin exploring the mountains!

Her call was heard, loudly and clearly.

The samurai, Tōuma and Osamu, were the first to close in -- and it made Izumi feel safer knowing how quickly the wolves she trusted to protect them heeded the call, nodding in approval as they approached. Then came her sisterly pair and brother, coming to sit close to the crane in Aika's particular excitement in seeing Hikari. An ever expanding crowd appeared before her – some whom she'd met before, and others not so much. At one point a particularly dark cloaked man appeared who, while looking strikingly familiar, she couldn't identify right away.....and was that....Ciri in the distance? What was she doing here? Not that seeking the bright-eyed kestrel's gaze again was a bad thing, though her sudden presence did throw her off a bit.

Izumi felt herself counting breaths as heat flooded to her eartips in that moment, regretful of this entire meeting and dwelling upon the fact that she had never done so much as a speech before. Where would she even begin? Would they think she was asking for too much when she spoke and turn tail? How had Izu's parents able to do this in the past, Reiko or even Ira when speaking to an entire group of people? The thought of having so many eyes and ears depending on her next move felt gut wrenching.

Though it was the warmth that radiated between the bodies of her own kin that helped her calm down -- even if they too awaited her to speak, them simply being there meant something. It boosted the cranebird's confidence and reminded her that she was doing this for them. The resurrected amongst the crowd, and the followers who supported her yet announced journey. This was her duty now – one that she couldn't abandon on the basis of doubt.

Taking a deep breath, a step-forward, and trailing eye whilst waiting for all to be settled, she'd begin.

“おはよう.” She greeted simply “Those of you who have gathered already know the story, some even each other and the reason for our grouping, yet I believe everyone here deserves a proper explanation. Right here, and right now.”

“I am Izumi Fujiwara, and these are my siblings – Hikari, Aika and Taro Fujiwara,” her icy lilacs trailed upon the kin she stood beside. Alive and well again – a fond sigh, as if still in disbelief that the quintet were reunited once more. “Once heirs to an empire built upon the love and pride of our family and ancestors – only for it to be destroyed the night our lands were raided, attacked, and painted red by the innocent lives of our clan members.” Members that, while in few, also stood before the crane and listened on to her words. The siamese could only imagine in what ways the fate of their lives were cut short by Homura's wrath, and for that reason the girl would not linger long on the fate of her birth home.

“Some of us remember meeting untimely fates in our previous lives – regardless of whether or not we shared the same home. Yet it is when we stand in the midst of these plains that we all share one thing in common; and that is the second chance we've been given to start anew. In these new bodies and in this unexplored world.” For Izumi, it was not as new as it was for some who've 'awoken' much later. She had treaded these lands for almost a year – creating bonds with the unforgettable and seeking her purpose in this second life. After wandering down this road of soul searching for so long the hands of fate finally opened her eyes and showed the crane what she was meant to do; and it was to continue what her ancestors had begun…

She stepped further into the crowd, and tuned her muzzle higher as she spoke. At this point, all of her self-consciousness had been forgotten. Though her heart still raced and her paws still slick and sweaty against rock, on the outside was the look of determination and passion that drove her words. “That is why it is here where I seek to rebuild what had been stolen from my family and start anew. With the help of my brother and sisters, my once fallen clan members, and with the people who choose to aid me in this task – I wish to build a home for the fallen. A land for the rebirthed to protect my family and create a safe haven for the ones who see farther into the new versions of themselves.”

“To turn what was once the Fujiwara Clan into something better, the Fujiwara Dynasty – and it is my wish to do this as your leader.” – and there it was, laid out upon a silver platter. Her proclamation to do something she'd never done before in a position she couldn't have imagined being in – but deep down Izumi knew this was her calling. Something she was meant to do.

A pause was taken to scan over the group with her lilac gaze, including her siblings. Long had the five of them been raised to compete against each other for the place of their parent's throne – so how would they react to this? An intrusive thought that she would shake away for a later day, as it wasn't important right now – not in the middle of this speech.

Breaking the silence once more, her chin would jutt towards the mountain tips of the west sphere, “My plan is for us to leave for the mountains by duskfall, and travel until a suitable home is found for us all to properly settle,” A settlement she had been quite picky about, despite how often she used to visit the mountains “--and by then, we will begin the process of claiming territory of our own.”

After that, the crane would go silent. To leave the rest of the thoughts up to those who listened on, and wonder quietly about who would follow now, and who might even leave…

A subtle brow lifted at the mass outpouring of new faces that had since gathered to pledge their allegiance to the crane. He could tell she was a lady of great influence, but he hadn't realized she had already extended her reach so far. Just as well. It took many hands to raise up a clan from the ashes, much less in a foreign land - for it seemed that all were strangers to this world.

Osamu had not yet met a single native, and he had a sneaking suspicion that there were none to be found at all.

Izumi began her speech, her cool gaze hardly betraying the pounding of her heart in her chest. She was fresh-faced and inexperienced, but she still held within her the determination of an Empress from a dynasty long swept away by the winds of time - though she may have felt fear, her voice remained clear and confident, addressing the crowd with a practiced ease.

He felt pride swell from within, recognizing the first blush of excitement tickling at his nerves. This was the first real thing he had set out to do since his arrival in this new world, and having a purpose - a direction - filled him with renewed hope.

His face, of course, said nothing. The warrior remained utterly impassive, regarding her with his characteristic silver stare, eyes piercing and devoid of warmth.

Yet that did not mean he could not feel it.

At her direction, he followed the collective's gaze as it shifted toward her proclaimed siblings, and he was impressed how easily they could be spotted within the crowd. Yes, there was no doubt of their relation - Izumi and her kin wore the same coats, just scattered differently across each, also possessing similar shape in both muzzle and eyes.

Osamu once had a sister.

Once - such a long time ago.

The faintest traces of a smile tweaked at the edges of his mouth, lost within a memory he could yet still grasp, before pulling himself back out to further listen to her speech.

She continued her tale, describing the origins of herself and her original clan. His ears pricked forward, suddenly very keen; her story made him wonder for a moment if she, too, had come from the same land that he had been borne from into this cursed place. The way she referenced new bodies... he looked at her with a strange curiosity. They had touched on such things only briefly, but he quickly decided that this would be a necessary discussion for them to have later.

They were to leave by duskfall. He thought of Suzune, then, and her plight, but he did not know what else he could do for the maiden. She seemed determined to waste in her own misery at the craven whims of her captors, and although he had offered her rescue and passage night after night, still she refused.

Osamu straightened.

“I, Osamu, pledge myself to your name and cause,” he stated clearly. “In this new beginning and this new life, I vow from this day on that I shall follow you and yours, lady Izumi. My loyalty and my fangs are yours to wield.”

There were so many people here, a sea of strangers swarmed almost as soon as the lady arrived, and Aika found herself growing claustrophobic as she tried to take a few eager steps back. Although, her ears perked as her sisters speach begun; just like her parents, and her midnight gaze began to tear up. She missed them. “おはよう.” She gave a simple statement, which would greatly undermine what would come to be a monumental moment.

“Those of you who have gathered already know the story, some even each other and the reason for our grouping, yet I believe everyone here deserves a proper explanation. Right here, and right now.” Her sister begun, introducing her cause, and herself, plus her siblings. As Aika was addressed, she gave a little dip of her head, a grin growing on her features as her tail swayed excitably. Yes! That was her! Aika, the leader's sister! She was . . . Important? Maybe? Hopefully.

Once heirs, they were. It was true. Once. Unfortunately, the clan she'd once been so proud of; so important to; an heir to; it no longer stood, now scarlet and crimson after the terrible events that'd been played out by evil men. The inky princess shivered, her fur spiking in both memories of fear, and a continuation of anger that ran through her bones and coursed through her very own blood. Her life-force. Never would she be able to forget. Then, Izumi's voice dragged her out of the misery and despair, bringing her only a notch higher on the sadness-meter.

“Some of us remember meeting untimely fates in our previous lives – regardless of whether or not we shared the same home. Yet it is when we stand in the midst of these plains that we all share one thing in common; and that is the second chance we've been given to start anew. In these new bodies and in this unexplored world.” New bodies. Why did Aika feel like that was targeted towards her, and her siblings? The lady searched to meet her sister's eyes, midnight trying to find the lilacs that seemed to spread across the crowd, yet hid when it came to finding her siblings. The girl sighed.

She sought to rebuild, though, and the princess felt herself perk up. Yes, she knew this was what this had to be for! A smile grew upon her face once more; their parents would be proud, she knew, and perhaps this revival of a once forsaken kingdom could turn out to be good this time. She shivered with excitement, instead of the once blood-curdling anxiety. A new chance; a time of peace, perhaps. That would be . . . Nice. “To turn what was once the Fujiwara Clan into something better, the Fujiwara Dynasty – and it is my wish to do this as your leader.”

Her sister as a leader; it seemed like it could never happen, and yet, she seemed like the perfect fit. Aika's jovial mood could only fly higher at this point; it was exciting! Like, very, really, super exciting! “My plan is for us to leave for the mountains by duskfall, and travel until a suitable home is found for us all to properly settle,” She began. The mountains were one of the areas she hadn't fully discovered, so this movement seemed to be just perfect. It all wrapped up neatly, with a nice, shiny ribbon to tie it all together. Perfect!

“--and by then, we will begin the process of claiming territory of our own.” Territory of our own. It sounded unreal, but just as she was about to speak up, another stole her words; a dark man, though he seemed noble. Aika looked him up and down, quirking a brow, though relaxing at the words he said; “I, Osamu, pledge myself to your name and cause. In this new beginning and this new life, I vow from this day on that I shall follow you and yours, lady Izumi. My loyalty and my fangs are yours to wield.” She gave a nod of approval.

“I, Aika Fujiwara, swear myself to our new Dynasty; a new chance, and a new hope, to continue something that was once beautiful. May my joy and aspiration be with you among this undoubtedly long journey.” Then, she turned to her sister on a more personal level, her voice deepening, though her smile only rose. Clicking her tongue as she switched to her natal language, Aika's eyes softened; “愛してるシスター 私はあなただけの善意を願っています。 私はいつもあなたのためにここにいます、時間、日、または天気に関係なく、何も二度と私たちを分離しないことを知っています、いいですか?” Nothing by force, anyways.

The late night had been full of passion, love, and sweet nothings with the silver wolf by his side, a loner he met yesterday. As they woke with the sunrise she cuddled into him and he felt smug as fuck because yeah that's right, he deserved girls at his paws. "You'll always be mine?" She asked and he chuckled. "Of course baby girl, I've never even thought of another woman before-" Then a howl erupted through the air, a summoning that caused his eyes to widen, as his soul was pulled by the destiny it previewed. "Izumi?" He said out-loud and felt the wolf around him bristle. "Excuse me? My NAME is Rebecca Wills! Saying the name of another girl, how could you!" Uh-oh she was mad, he had to fix this quick. "Wait Sweetheart-" But the silver wolf snapped at his muzzle with a growl before getting up and stalking off. Ouch. He laid down and groaned in frustration, his head also pounding from the mugwort he partook in as well from the other day. He was far too sober at the moment for this new day. This is why he never made fuckin' promises. He must be out of his mind to throw away all his freedom to get whipped by the first girl he met here.

He was bound to them, the strange wolf known as Izumi...a rough start their encounter had been but it ended fairly decent, his respect for her and what she stood by was enough for the homesick kitsune to feel obligated to pledge his allegiance for now. The miko (Izumi) would build a shoddy replica of what he missed and it would be his new shrine to care for and worship until he found a way back to his actual master or find his ways into the celestial planes. He had promised her that should she ever call for him he would be summoned to her aid. And he NEVER went back on a promise, physically he could not. He was a follower no matter how much he stuck out and fought because deep inside this rock star's harsh interior was a sensitive soul that wanted to be useful and loved. He had parted ways with her to learn more about the women-er this new land. Alas she was putting him to work already before he got very far on this. No rest for the wicked.

~~~
He was really fucking late to the party. Thomas wasn't exactly expecting this many, her soul really must grab at others. He at least made it in time to hear the miko's next speech. He listened quietly at the edge of the group, a tight frown and an intense glare in his flaming eyes that he would turn to challenge with a curl of his lip and the tip of his tongue. Fuckers better say out of his way. His aura was menacing, even from afar.
He studied Izumi closely searching for it, any sign of weakness and to try and get a feel for her karma, which was difficult with all of these other saps that had decided to follow her. But with each sentence her spirit could be felt growing stronger than the rest until it was like a will-o-wisp that began to float and engulfed the rest of these travelers own souls, even his own. Despite her greenhorn approach and tense energy, her heart was true and that was enough for him. He wasn't going to sit over here like a dip ass with big eyes and be like 'o i wuv u, imma be ur bitch' like everyone else was. He was way above such shit.
He made a beeline to the princess, shoving roughly passed any in his way, casting all the glares he could to others. He would not shove past his kin, a thing he had not expected her to have. A thing he could never understand because he hated foxes, they were liars and cheaters, always trying to act all high and mighty and beat on any (like himself) that stood out. He looked at all of her family with a polite nod before staring challengingly at Izumi. It almost looked like something ill was suppose to happen. But then...he bowed, his forehead touching the ground. He slowly lifted his head up with a cheeky smile as mirth danced in his eyes. He loved acting all bad ass and spooky.
"I have seen many empires built and many more turn to dust. Corruption begins at the roots. But your soul, Izumi-sama, is pure and just. Your empire could outlive time itself as long as you never lose sight of why this journey started." For once the brute's eyes became kind. He wasn't planning on being here forever, he did not belong in this world. But she did and he would serve under her reign for as long as she drew breath. His soul was use to eternities. His next words changed togue and they were as warm as the look he showed her. "そのために、私はこの領域の果てまであなたについて行きます。私はあなたの謙虚なサービスにいます。私はあなたの意志と理性をあらゆる腐敗から守ります。私たちの未来が明るく公平でありますように、私の親愛なるプリンセス。" His default asshole expression returned as he came back into reality.
He looked at the rest and stuck his tongue out. "Nice to meet you fuckers, don't get close to me and we'll all get along. Don't disappoint." After talking shit he walked on to lay behind where Izumi stood with the others, ready to watch and listen to the rest until they finished the waterworks and traveled on. He got his thoughts out of the way now he would just be impatient for the remainder because he didn't care about these dumb-looking squares yet. They were just going to kiss ass the whole time for like the next three hours he bet. He knew how these emotionally lost souls worked, sticking to the strong because of fragile egos. He hoped they would all prove him wrong.
^^Hikari!
Oh no.
Oh, please no, Hikari thought so bitterly as she didn’t have the chance to react as the social butterfly of an extrovert sister came bouncing over like an over-excited puppy. Hikari was not a morning bitch, alright? And to have an excited, bouncing for joy sister literally running up to her, showing that bubbly personality, well not only was it a nightmare, but Hikari was envisioning putting a rock in her mouth to shut her the fuck up.
It took every ounce of courage not to actually do it, because Izzy had all called them here for a reason, and Hikari would hate to ruin whatever it was that she was about to tell them, for the sake of gutting her own sister.
Her eye twitched, and Hikari gritted her teeth as she tried to behave. She didn’t, couldn’t move away from her, without really causing a scene. How would that look for dear ol’ Izumi, who had sisters that couldn’t behave themselves?! The followers she had gathered would turn their noses up, and they’d be a laughing stock, and if Hikari was respectful about one thing, it was their honor — their honor that Izumi was attempting to restore.
“アイカ、ダーリン” the shrimp of a sister would coo in a voice of venom, acting the part of a loving, cheerful sister, when her voice suggested otherwise, like a mother trying to control her children with that ‘you’re ass is mine when we get into the car’ tone of voice and facial expressions.
“お会いできてとても嬉しいです..” It wasn’t, though, was it? Cool that she was still alive and kicking, she supposed, nodding her head towards Taro himself as Hikari smiled towards her sister. An emotion that looked (and felt) weird on her face, so much so that she wondered why she had even bothered.
“ええ、実は以前、水場で出会いました。” Part of that honor that was shoved so far up her ass? It left Hikari disliking leaving questions unanswered. A curse, really.
Their sister began to speak to this collection of strangers; like coins collected from off the side of the street. Hikari knew none of them, but was a little impressed that they, as her siblings, were introduced. A sea of blue guided its way towards Izumi as Hikari glanced towards her, tilting her head.
Oh? Did she intend for the entire lot of them to lead this Dynasty, since she went ahead and also gave them their entire life story, as if this was some sort of group therapy session that Hikari didn’t ask for? That no one asked for.
And how does this make you feel?
Why else would she give them a pity me, so join us spiel? Hikari quickly found that controlling emotions was not meant for her to do, so she didn’t. Izumi stepped towards the crowd, and Hikari had half the mind to push her towards the sharks, but with Aika being so close that Hikari could practically tell what she’d had for lunch, Hikari swallowed her pride and also took a step forward, but also remaining behind her sister.
And then the pledges started, and Hikari bit back a laugh.
“私たちは本当に誓約する必要はありませんよね?” Why were they pledging? Was this some sort of cult? Actually, yeah, it probably was, come to think of it.
And, come to think of it, Izumi had already said that they were helping her on this journey, meaning a pledge from them was not really a requirement. Akira, though, proceeded to give them all verbal diabetes. Hikari grimaced, forcing herself to hold back from gagging in front of the crowd.
It was the arrival of Thomas that caught her from actually gagging and throwing up right then and there. He came right up and bowed to them, likely bowing to Izumi, but they all stood at her side, and Hikari had never seen such a perfect specimen before. Her eyes felt like they glittered as she looked at him with an arched brow.
“Where would any of us be without the love and support of our family? Izumi has told you all of our story. In this strange, new world.. family is all we have left, but it is in our paws to make something of it. We are finally together, after what has felt like eons.
And with your cooperation, as our newly wedded..?”
Hikari paused briefly, unsure if this was the correct term, but going with it anyway, “..family members, we will travel these great lands in unity, giving honor back to the Fujiwara name, and creating an honest, protected, safe haven of second chances to those who are deserving; of those, like us, who have nothing left to give.”
She'd been found by Aika not long earlier, searching for any signs of the old pack. And now here she is, standing in the center of everything, watching a new dynasty form.
Honoka doesn't need to know the history. All she needs to know is that some of the wolves gathered need to be taught how to behave. She thinks particularly of Hikari, who needs to be taught how a lady should behave. But she's not going to say a word out loud, instead keeping her presence there cheerful and not speaking up until the turn of the circle passes to her. When she speaks, it's in Japanese. She doesn't care if people here don't understand it-- it should be the official language of the Dynasty, and now's a better time than any to learn.
"<It is an honor to serve our people,>" she says smoothly. "<I will follow, as duty commands.>" She's not going to acknowledge the rude man who's swearing openly. Kindness to the face, but a firm judgment behind those eyes-- yes, that's how Honoka has always done. She won't bring shame to her family name, unlike some people here. They could learn, really, to contain themselves. Yes, Honoka hates plenty of people. But she's not one to vocalize it. She's bred better than that.
Now, whispering behind someone's back... Giggling over their misfortune where they can't see it... That's definitely the way to go about it.
Sorry for the short post, just wanted to get it in here
This was all a lot to take in.
And for now he wouldn't. He could piece it all together later, for now he didn't have time for that. As the others began stepping forward he wouldn't hesitate to follow suit.
“吾” He began, before making the decision to switch languages. He didn't know if everyone here spoke Japanese, and he was doing this for them as well, not just Izumi. Unity would always get them farther. “I will follow you wherever you need . You have my full loyalty.”
It was slightly surreal, standing her pledging himself to Izumi. His sister who was once so reserved and distant, had changed an unbelievable amount. And Taro was proud of her for it.
Those who would soon call themselves members of Fujiwara slowly, but surely gathered. There were many more than Tōuma had expected. Though, this wasn't a bad thing, right? There was greater security in numbers.
Izumi went on with her speech, once sure all were present. She spoke of their history, and then the many fatalities to follow from their previous lives. Some among them hadn't been reborn, but it wasn't too difficult for the samurai to differ which were which.
Chinatsu was one of the recent rebirth that he knew well. Well-.. perhaps not too well.. but enough so that they could call each other acquaintances; maybe even friends. She joined at his side, even leaning against him and in turn, the man did his best not instinctively scoot away. Closeness hadn't been a familiar thing through most of his life. But for her? He would allow it. Through some gentlemanly, protective manner, he even tucked his tail around her sitting form. Other than that, there was little else acknowledgement.
From then on, he would listen in silence as Izumi finished — then as everyone stepped forward to offer their vows and promises. Tōuma, unlike the rest, had no temptation to follow suite. Whether if or not in the eyes of others, the samurai had already sworn his service to the new empress. So, as he figured, there was no need. She had heard his words and that was enough.
