Its my only chance at peace

The man moved past the border, sniffing the air slightly. He had heard that they had moved back there, and so, here he was, looking for Shiroshika. Well, in reality, he was looking for @Reiko, wanting to see how she was doing. He had gone out of his way to bring back @Haruki, and asked nothing in return, only to be able to see the happiness on her face. Sure, she had a mate, and just thought thought of @Quicksilver made him flick his tail in annoyance. But, nonetheless, he would take a deep breath, making sure to calm himself down. 

Any sort of annoyance or anger would make the wolves that were already nervous around him probably attack him without a thought. Which was why he made sure to stay on the opposite side of the border, not wanting to give them any reason to attack him. For a moment, he thought about letting out a call, but he wasn't sure how well Reiko had been able to smooth over tension, and so, he would simply wait, eyes flickering around as he hoped to find who he came here for.

The scent of cat along the edge of his territory heightened the druid's anxiety; he sent a call up in warning to his comrades at once.

Quicksilver began his pursuit, extending his stride to a lengthy trot with his teeth gritted. His tail was stiff and straight at his rear; there was no need to put on a dominant show to a feline who might not understand the communication of wolves.

His tension eased, however, as the tiger he found was not orange like the one who'd maimed his mate. Quicksilver eased to a smooth halt and lifted his muzzle, blinking with uncertainty at the black and white pattern of - “Rajani?”

He had simply been sitting there, though the call from the center of the territory was caught by his ears, causing him to groan in annoyance. Seriously? He wasn't even doing anything! Standing up, he would tense himself wanting to leave but also not putting it past them to not ambush him. Sure, he wasn't really concerned about losing a fight, but he didn't trust that he could fight more than one wolf and not seriously injure them. 

However, a voice calling his name made him stop, his body still tense as he was ready for a fight. Turning quickly, he would keep himself tense, knowing instantly who it was. The last wolf he wanted to see. "Quicksilver, I assume." He kept his distain from showing, though clearly still on edge from the call. "Should I worry of pack ambush?" He noticed that the other wolf had relaxed himself and Rajani would do the same, only to try and show that he wasn't here to fight, but he would defend himself if he needed to. 

The man clearly had a lot of trust issues.

The Emperor watched, cautious, as the large cat turned to face him. He rose his gaze to seek the sapphire of Rajani's eyes, unsettling eyes, though he bit back the frown that threatened to tug at his muzzle. Reiko had asked this feline to watch out for the wolves during their scouting mission but it seemed he'd occupied himself elsewhere, for Quicksilver had heard upon his return that Haruki had been located and returned by him.

The druid lifted his sterling ears at the tiger's own questioned greeting and dipped his muzzle to confirm. “Ah,” he licked at his upper lip, “sorry. No ambush, we're just a little on edge here while we adjust.” Understandably, considered the history. Tsukiishi had been made unsafe once before, by a big cat who prowled their lands, so surely Rajani could understand. His call had not been to attack, however, but to warn - so he did not move to withdraw it.

Reiko might've trusted this feline, for some reason, but he certainly did not.

The druid let his hackles smooth along his back, and his tail lowered. “What brings you to Tsukiishi?”

The man relaxed slightly, but only slightly. Without Reiko here, he had no reason to act like a housecat, rolling around and being playful. No, right now he was standing tall, though the position of his ears and the light flicking of his tail indicated that he wasn't in an attacking position. Hearing the man talk about being on edge, he would nod slightly, remembering how hard it was for him to start to get through to Reiko. "I figure, though my scent and Kuhn scent very different, you might want get used to that." He had been bringing food for the man's pack for a while now, so he silently wondered if the man would put two and two together, figuring that he would have smelled the scent on the food. 

Nonetheless, he would shrug at the next question, pausing for a moment to figure out what to say. This was Reiko's husband after all. "I simply here to make sure you all got here safely." Which wasn't entirely wrong. "I was busy with other request when pack got ready for travel, my apologies." He would dip his head slightly, eyes never leaving the other man.

The druid blinked, a strange guilty feeling coming over him at the big cat's comment on the difference between his scent and that of Kuhn. He twisted an ear as he considered it; he'd never met the other tiger, nor did he care to. All felines smelled the same to Quicksilver anyway, for he had no interest in interacting with predators outwith his species. There was no trust in him for Rajani or any other of his kind, no matter what Reiko's opinion was and no matter what good deeds he'd done for Shiroshika.

The suggestion that he "get used to that" hinted that Rajani intended to stick around. Something chilling coursed his veins and he twitched a whisker, unsure how to respond. Beneath the platinum furs of his shoulders, he bore the mark of a snow cat who'd been offended by his presence alone; he swore he felt the scar twinge uncomfortably.

He would need to tread carefully with this one. His mate was fond of him, for some reason, but Quicksilver was suspicious. For what reason did the tiger feel he need to "check in" on a wolf pack? He wanted something of them, surely. The silverwhite shifted his weight, the alabaster tip of his tail curling. “We all did make it here safe,” so you can be on your way now, “thank you.”

He kept himself looking large, though he really didn't have to try too hard, instead just standing tall and looking down at the man. It took all of his will power to not snarl at him or look down with contempt in his gaze. Instead, he kept a relatively neutral expression, only raising an eyebrow at the man's clear attempt to have him move along. Nice try. 

With a nod, he would hold back a smirk that toyed at his lips. "You welcome." With that, he would turn his gaze away from the man, clearly searching the border for something, or someone. Specifically, he was looking for @Reiko, hoping that she would come by after the call of her mate. The thought of that word made his ears tuck. 

Paying no more mind to the wolf, he would sit patiently, clearly not ready to leave just yet.

Rajani stared at him rather blankly, and Quicksilver blinked up at his striped features. There was a long pause of silence, tense and uncomfortable, until a dull acknowledgement of his thanks rolled from the tiger's tongue. The druid wasn't sure what else he was supposed to do. He simply watched as the feline turned his head away and focused his attention elsewhere. Quicksilver's brow furrowed to accompany the darkening of his expression as he stared at the back of Rajani's crown for only a moment longer, made mildly irritated by his blatant disrespect of him.

He'd tried to move him along politely and evidently failed, so there was nothing more he could say without provoking hostility. Quicksilver instead chose to depart. He moved away quietly in the opposite direction, leaving the cat to his solitude, and trailed the length of his frame along various tree trunks to deposit fresh scent markers that would serve as a reminder that the mountains belonged to the wolves.
