Welcome to Canis Major

a wolf and animal rpg (role-playing game)

Canis is a writing community for play-by-post (forum-based), freeform roleplay set in a fictional dream world in the intrusion fantasy genre. Most characters on Canis are wolves; many play elements are focused around wolves and canids, but the world makes room for a large variety of other animal characters such as dogs, horses, cats, bears, deer, and many, many more.

Our community is focused on flexibility, creativity, and collaboration. That boils down to a few important features:

  • There is no set activity requirement to write
  • The setting and plot are member-created and staff-supported
  • The game is continuously improved to increase fun and decrease stress

Celnes was well adept to the temperate, she knew most of the region, though a short halt toward the coast side. Not something she has visited often, but once or twice has stepped near-so, and she knew at heart, was not a fan of the sea. The salt was something altogether, and so, avoided most of the time. Though her paws lately stood hard within The Elk's Crown, not faring too far, especially with young continuing at the border. Ah, but as selfish as she always as, the Queen took it a light step further, and ventured just above the claim of Labyrinthian ; perhaps she should say hello to @Madmortigan on the way back.

Something tug to her strings and brought her to a quaint little grove, where the sun barely shined through the hilltops. Gave an enchanting presence, as the land was coated by the flowers before her paws as she had no choice to step on them, while Celnes navigated through the terrain. A pretty little area, but a bit too far from Elkshire to continually visit.

Despite holding more confidence, it didn't take Keres out of the Grove. Within it did she stay, happy to be blissfully ignorant to the outside world. It had been lovely here since they had found it, a little paradise that so rarely had others encroach -- though others did rove, they never came near their den. That was enough, wasn't it? No trouble had come and so it was still a sanctuary.

Keres only hoped that no Pack sought to claim it, her heart twisting painfully at the thought. They had made it their home, to be forced from it would be... well, quite awful.

The little wolf was on yet another mission though this time she sought honey. Before she had been lucky, finding a broken and abandoned honeycomb. She thought she would be less lucky today yet she had set off anyway, having a fancy for the treat with some berries. Keres was getting quite the little sweet tooth! Trotting through the flowers with a gentle gait, she moved through her make shift home with ease. Though the sound of bees would mean honey, it would mean honey she could not have. So the lacking sound of buzzing wasn't necessarily a bad sign, all things considered.

A paw was placed upon a tree as she gazed up, strong that they stood, she couldn't remember what type they were.. Didn't seem like oak tree's, far too skinny for the liking, but too tall to be said anything like otherwise. Celnes sighed for a moment ; was she really thinking about trees? Was her time this frivolous? She was going to turn back, but the smell of berries drifted to her nose.. Was there some here as well?

Although there was the smell of loner that caught her nose as well, and she rose a brow as she strode to the area. Was someone claiming here?

Instead of honey, she found a wolf. Walking the same as she but gait different, Keres' was a quiet sort of walk and the other's was loud with confidence. She stilled, surprised but really, why was she? Scents drifted here and there through the Grove but she didn't think this was one of them. She was decorated in browns that reminded her Minerva and eyes of orange. Keres stilled, suddenlly aware of her surroundings in an hyper-aware state. "Hello," the petite she-wolf called softly, only looking minorly alarmed. ^^
