Welcome to Canis Major

a wolf and animal rpg (role-playing game)

Canis is a writing community for play-by-post (forum-based), freeform roleplay set in a fictional dream world in the intrusion fantasy genre. Most characters on Canis are wolves; many play elements are focused around wolves and canids, but the world makes room for a large variety of other animal characters such as dogs, horses, cats, bears, deer, and many, many more.

Our community is focused on flexibility, creativity, and collaboration. That boils down to a few important features:

  • There is no set activity requirement to write
  • The setting and plot are member-created and staff-supported
  • The game is continuously improved to increase fun and decrease stress

@Percival @Lunafreya

Manon, although not related by blood, was loyal to her family. Once every so often did they bring a non-related wolf, to delude their already noble blood but alas, such light brought a bit of questioning to it — the deformities, the insanities, but Manon didn't love them any less. They were family, the only family she knew, and needed so. Who else would there be? She didn't want anyone else.

Although her tendencies led to interacting with low-bloods, for funsies.. But it seemed she wouldn't at the moment, for the dame was quite literally, falling out of the sky, and landing rather ugly on a flower bed. Legs spread out like a desperate cat out of water, she was holding onto the ground for dear life, expecting it to happen again.

They were everywhere, ivory flies, and the land called them like a beacon.

Callan watched the pale wolf fall and splat to his great, unending amusement. The red bull cackled, making a half-hearted effort to collect himself as he trotted to the she-wolf's aid.

His head dipped further when he smelled the royal bloodline. “If you can walk I'll take you to the king.”

Better to know which relatives were dropping in.

She recognized him, a low-blood within services to the royals. Dutiful as he was and a bore as ever, but Manon smiled and got up smoothly, from her cat-erratic moment of discomfort and overall confusion, but ah! She was not alone, so that must mean she is fine, and safe, and maybe some cousins here and there. All the more!

Even though didn't really know what was happening, "If you could!"

He didn't pretend to know her name - they all looked so similar, and purposefully so.

Heeding his King's command, Callanwolde escorted the lady deeper into the Hollow. He did not call to the High Priest, for a lowblood did not beckon, but he had a nose for the silver lord.

The red bull said nothing as they came upon @Percival , offering a simple flick of his tail, waiting to be dismissed.

Percival had just marked a tree with his scent before being walked upon by Callanwolde...and a visitor. Said visitor looked oddly familiar to him— her scent lingered with floral undertones...a Highvallian trademark.

Percival's eyes would narrow on her. Callanwolde's tail would flicker as he stood still; unmoving. The Wolvenking would on his hinds, bringing his pawpad to his mouth to give it a clean lick from the residue of a splinter. His gave his chest fur a once over with his tongue, too, before he returned his attention back to the woman.

His indigo eyes flicked toward Callanwolde. "Leave us." He'd command, tail flickering. Once Callanwolde was out of sight, Percival's brows would furrow to attempt to place a name to the face of the she-wolf before him. "You're Highkin...but not by blood, correct?" Percival would hum. "Great aunt Blythe and uncle Pierre's adopted daughter."

Percival's own memory astonished him, but it was his job to keep track of their history. "Man— Manon? I haven't seen you since puphood. Are you quite alright?"

Ah, there he was! The highest of nobility, who wouldn't recognize him so? Surely not Manon, who, knew everyone. They may not know her but she was nosey enough to be generally knowledgeable on who was who. A busy-body, lil' nosey, but all within good-nature and fun. She'd never done it within a harms way, but ah, maybe she'd slip here and there of who likes who, maybe sprinkle a bit of the ones who tend to stray from their bounded engagement.

"Dearest cousin!" so she approached, the friendliest way, despite not even seeing each other for so long.. Or related, "Why yes, I am Manon! Brought to you by, value of the Highborns." Although he didn't remember her, she wasn't hurt by the water, the Highbloods were always too busy within their studies of religion and keeping of purity ; but ah, here she was to delude such ways! At least that was what she thought her use was, but yet to have her own engagement. Nonetheless, pure of colors, pure of heart.

"I am quite alright! I smell family, have you claimed your crown here?" and she beamed, knowing the obvious answer, and obviously so, awaiting for the acknowledgement, she was joining them.

Manon's personality hadn't changed for as much as he could remember. As he was a couple months older than she, Silva and Edwin dared to have them betrothed to one another. But, as little and rambunctious as she was, they decided to go for the safer option. Lunafreya. Lunafreya hadn't been their first choice, as far back as he can remember, due to her impaired vision. Manon had no such ailments, but was simply unfit for a Queen. However, she was good company.

Her energy lingered in the air. Almost static as it clung to his fur. "Indeed we have, cousin. This valley and the mountains are ours." He'd take a moment to turn and look at their surroundings, briefly inhaling the sweet floral scent that lingered in the air. The scent that meant home.

"Many of the others have gathered here. At your leisure, please, reunite with them." He'd offer her a small smile. "This is our paradise."

"How nice!" She so commented cheerfully, knowing not just him but the many others. Although she did see the lowborn servant, and wondered if that indicated anymore had arrived ; or whether already the Highborns used their charms to lure the tainted souls. She was more then happy to be a welcomed face on a luring of what'll be, knowing quite well of a fate that would become, but wouldn't that make great adoration? The love of a century between a low and high!

Not that it'd ever be permitted, but makes great gossip to mention lowkey about, even if it wasn't really true and just kinda a.. Manon saw it.

"My dearest cousin, I hope we can settle peacefully so!" indicating, she was here to stay, "I should be off to meet the rest." Wouldn't it be all the more pleasurable to meet Lunafreya, the cousin that he chose. How adorable they seemed to look, and wondered what lovely, and blinded children they would be forming.

A small, intangent smile poked at his features as he watched Manon beam off, hopping off. She was always in such a good mood— a typical juxtaposition for the Highvallians themselves. Percival didn't wear his emotions on his chest; it was simply not right.

But Manon was always like that. Everyone knew.

"Don't hurt yourself!" He'd call out before making his way back to the territory as well, peeing on the remnants of the flower beds. Staking their claim.
