Welcome to Canis Major

a wolf and animal rpg (role-playing game)

Canis is a writing community for play-by-post (forum-based), freeform roleplay set in a fictional dream world in the intrusion fantasy genre. Most characters on Canis are wolves; many play elements are focused around wolves and canids, but the world makes room for a large variety of other animal characters such as dogs, horses, cats, bears, deer, and many, many more.

Our community is focused on flexibility, creativity, and collaboration. That boils down to a few important features:

  • There is no set activity requirement to write
  • The setting and plot are member-created and staff-supported
  • The game is continuously improved to increase fun and decrease stress

It had been some time since the boar attack. She came back with only bruises that healed ; but if it wasn't for the other dragon that saved her so, Vendrussel would have quite a long time to heal. She was saddened though for his loss, and mourned during the time and kept to herself for some while. Emerging forth, back to the front-line as the leader and guardian of so, she patrolled the lines and diverged to a stream-line of a hunt, to take her mind off of the more dread atmosphere that seemed to take.

She dived into the ocean, feeling the fresh salty water fall to her face and pelt emerging into it's abyss. Her jaws clenching, feeling the struggle of a fish between as she recklessly pursued one, and the rest of the school was quick to flee. She emerged to the surface, biting hard onto the caught prey.

The events...well, the events that had taken place caused Jun more stress than he intended. He had opted to stay in the shadows after the immergence of his dead kin— something that he wouldn't take lightly. He was plagued with regret, guilt, and sorrow. Emotions that were tumultuous to attempt to be ridden of, but nonetheless he'd carry on. He'd vow to fight for the Ford...so he'd do just that.

Jun rounded the corners of the beloved Sepulcher. The memorizations of the land came easy to him— hopping from rock to rock, shoulder muscles rippling with strength. He'd catch wind, then, of a scent familiar to his own. The creator of it. Vendrussel. Her blue coat was opposed to his.  She'd have much richer tones, while he was all the more muted. Still, he felt a sort of kinship towards the other blue wolf. She had caught a fish, her coat newly drenched in ocean water.

But Jun was not the man that he was. Not since the battle. He would've called out to her, made a joke, but today he'd bask in solidarity. He'd hum quietly, "Hey," it was a light greeting. His stance was not the cocky, arrogant— as he's been told before— gait that it had been previously, but a much more...reserved, expression to say the least.

As she emerged with the now kill, Jun greeted so. His usual high-bright energy lacking, and Vendrussel could sympathetic why. To watch what was his assumed kin to be smashed by boars, and a woman he lay with watch her own perish under them ; was not a horror itself? She could not blame him, or anyone at the moment for having such a down spirit, especially with so much death lurking alongside of more trouble brewing. She gave a sympathetic gaze, bending down to put her fish in a safe space while crawling to sit by him, "hey,"

"It's hard to say in situations like these," the woman admitted, not sure what could be said or even discussed, or a laugh to do. They were.. Stuck.
