She left. Satan had given her the option and in doing so she would take the opportunity. Her breath hitched as the fleeting light would disperse from the desert. No. No. Her eyes would bolt back and forth as the evening light would flicker. Her paws continued, running further and further away from what she had known for the last few months. She felt as if she had been running for hours and her lungs wished nothing more than to collapse in her chest. She pushed herself - driving her body to continue on and not to look back. There was no reason for her to go back to the caverns. The cloak of the night soon began to saunter further, the stars would be the only indication of her traveling. North. She knew she was bound to find something if she kept going…
The temptation to pause in her flight continued in her head, but she was not far enough to relinquish those desires. Her body had limitations and she could feel herself succumbing to rest, her giant began to slow. Lungs burning from the lack of oxygen before her body would fall against the fleeting warmth of the sand. The sky of lilacs and gold would disperse as a deepened purple and blues would fall to the earth. Her eyes would flutter upwards, her chest moving swiftly in and out as she tried her best to catch her breath. Desperation in each gasp as she placed a paw in front of her. Shakily she would pull herself upwards, her head between her front legs as she coughed.
Eyes of honey and sage would close momentarily, she would not cry. She could not… damn it. Tears would fall against her cheek, she had nowhere to turn. Wishing that this was all a nightmare and she would awake in her family den. Her brothers and sisters sleep soundly around her and the snores of her pa in the other section of the burrow. Blinking the tears away, Lemon knew what had happened but she did not want to remember. She would rather remain with her head in the clouds. Just lost… lost and not forgotten. She couldn’t be forgotten. Could she?
