They had a pregnant dog, a puppy, and a deer.. An odd combo, but weaklings that surely could be used for ransom. Although Peaches was greedy, she wanted to attempt to nab one more wolf before they attempted to hack some meat from the others and demand they give them stuff in return for their wolves. All one way or another smelled of a pack ; so surely, they would want their wolves back, right? Right!?

"Woes is me! My mama is stuck!" would the piglet cry, the same lure as she did with many. Peaches, wasn't smart. She just repeated the same trick.. But it worked.. Maybe it'd work for @Valeska.

Valeska was many things, but discerning, perhaps, was not one of them.

She was innocent in more ways than one, and had been raised by her gentle mother never to turn away a cry for help.

So it was that she found herself at the edge of the lake, taking a well-deserved drink in a brief moment away from her pups while @Mordecai patrolled their borders, that she then heard the shrill, desperate plea of a young child nearby. While a piglet would normally serve as dinner for her kind, to hear such a pitiful cry for help - likely separated from its own mother - stirred newly-discovered maternal feelings within her heart, and without much of a second thought, she took off and strode confidently toward its origin.

A tiny she-boar, hardly bigger than one of her own children, stood wailing plaintively at the edge of Fate's Respite.

“Oh! Little one,” she called out tentatively, taking a few slow, cautious steps forward. “What is the matter? Something about your mother - where is she?”

She crept closer, keeping low to the ground so as not to startle or intimidate the small creature.

“Come - show Valeska! I will help you.”

A wolf, one of gray proportions who smelled of milk. Although was not pregnant, nor' was she a child, nor' a deer ; another oddity to the mixture but she surely smelled of a pack wolf. Peaches held her smile, continuing her waterworks with piglet oinks, "oh thank you miss! this way this way!" would she ushur to the other, another oink of signal for any other boars within the distance to announce that the Princess brought even more to the fold!

One last one.. Finally before able to start venturing toward the packs and demand some sort of.. Actually she didn't know what they were demanding anymore besides food. But it was fun, right?

Oink.

Lurking away a distance, Gro'mash watched with cruel eyes, Peachie weachie bring daddy more food. Gro'mash like food.

Sharpfang think they, make pigs food but pigs make sharpfang food.

Once peaches had lured the woman into a position that she could not escape, Gro'mash would burst from his bush aiming to plow through the woman, aiming to take out her hind legs. He would pay no mind to if she was crushed or gored. They only needed her alive. Just barely.

He heard the sound, the call of his leader. She was in pain, in trouble. He remembered talking with Orlaith how nothing seemed to happen around here and how he wished something would go on.

He was about to get his wish.

The rotund wolf rushed towards the sound of danger, running pell-mell... and already tiring himself out by the time he arrived to see a large pig had attacked Valeska.

He was a soft man. A dull man. An easygoing man... but that all flew out the window when those he cared about and were in charge of were harmed.

His fur raised, tail raised, and he pulled his lips back into a terrible snarl. Everything about him screamed aggressive and angry. The normal Mordecai was gone, replaced with a large and formidable brown beast.

There were two pigs. The one off to the side that he deemed as a non-threat and then the one that was actively harming Valeska. That one was dead.

He gave a full-throated snarl as he rushed to Valeska's aid, spittle flying and fangs bared as he tried to plow his full weight into the boar and rip at the side of its face. Thoughts of his own safety were non-existent, he only cared that Valeska get away. If he died, he didn't care. His duty and his life were pledged to her and Elysium.

How fortunate the little pig had stumbled upon her path! Although considering the danger her mother was in, the child seemed oddly chipper now - but perhaps it was simply gratitude at finding a willing soul to aid her. No matter. With a confident heart and purposeful strides, Valeska followed dutifully along, making a mental note as to when her pups had last been fed to keep them on schedule should this take all afternoo-

An absolute demon of a boar suddenly thundered out from a nearby bush, giving her only just enough time to avoid the ends of his tusks as she instead absorbed a body-blow from his massive shoulder as he barreled into her with all the strength of a freight train.

She saw stars for a moment, her hip igniting in a blossom of white-hot pain, then quickly - and awkwardly - scrambled to her paws as none other than Mordecai came charging into view.

“What the-” she uttered, stunned, still trying to piece together what just happened. The little piglet had seemingly vanished in the chaos, and she could swear she heard the distant echoes of childlike laughter bouncing off the trees surrounding them.

Mordecai launched his attack with a ferocity that surprised even Valeska, having never seen the warrior as anything but a fun-loving snack addict - but in those moments, she understood why he held the position he did.

Understanding his intent, she turned to make a run for it - and stumbled painfully.

Fuck.

Pig smash not enough, need hit again.  Taking his time to think it through, still in a trot, he watched the woman collapse and then scramble to her feet in a daze.  When suddenly another wolf was upon him, taking a chunk of flesh from the swine's cheek.  Tiny, bite only give Gro'Mash thicker skin later.   It would be another beautiful scar.

In reality, it was not a small bite.  It was a large impressive wound, but to the massive swine it wasn't the end.  Screeching in fury, the king of swine attempted to cast the brown wolf off to the side, using his momentum and long tusks to attempt to plow Mordecai off to the side.

Following through with his run, he angled his massive head down attempting to knock the pale woman skyward.  He cared not how he would stop her, even if it would break her.

He latched onto the boar's face, ripping and tearing, trying to halt the massive beast's progress... but it was in vain. He was flung roughly to the side, his chest ripped open by the tusks. Pain blossomed through his body, no doubt bruising in multiple places but he did not care. Adrenaline masked it and even if it hadn't, he wouldn't stop.

He rose once again, as soon as he landed roughly on the ground. He could see the boar was running at her still, intent on flinging her up into the air. He felt his heart catch in his throat, fear that she would die on his watch coursing through him. No no no no! She couldn't die! Not Valeska no! Not while he was there!

 He couldn't fail!

He ran forward, opening his jaws again to try to grab the pig by a leg. He would try to pull it up in the air while also pulling back to stop its momentum. He dug his claws into the dirt, setting his large body towards the ground to be a weight and hindrance. Look at me! Focus on me I am the threat! FIGHT ME!! He screamed in his mind, not risking screaming it out loud lest it cause him to lose a hold. Still, he snarled and growled and made all the noise he could to divert the pig's single-minded focus.

Blood poured freely down the boar's face, bright crimson flowing from gaping wounds left by Mordecai in his frenzied assault - yet despite his injuries, the great beast only laughed, seemingly only capable of feeling the thrill of the hunt. He flung the heavy wolf away like some bothersome little pest, tossing him to the ground with an ease that was utterly frightening.

Elysium's dark warrior snarled as he rose, a guttural sound ripping out from deep within his chest, launching himself once again at the mad boar-king. Valeska stared in shock, golden eyes wide as saucers, frozen in place - it all felt so surreal. This couldn't be happening. It couldn't be happening. Not here, not in their safe haven, not with her children still crying for their mothers-

She struggled to limp away, a new wave of pain flourishing up her hips as she scrambled for purchase. There was no way they could win this with just the two of them - she had to call for help, hoping the others were nearby.

Lifting her head, she took a breath to let out a frantic, high-pitched howl-

And instead found herself sailing quietly through the air. Her body felt surprisingly numb. What just happened? Why was she...

Slamming against a boulder, her head rocking back against it with a loud thud, her vision went black.

Whitefur sharpfang stop moving, Gro'mash did it. Other sharpfang bite Gro'mash leg and that hurt.

Now content with his hostage being unconscious, Gro'mash turned his putrid eye to the brown wolf on his flank. Kicking out behind him a multi hundred pound leg of fat and muscle attempted to make contact with the lupine warrior to either kill him on knock him loose.

Shrieking in both anger and victory, "You feed Gro'mash! Or Gro'mash feed on whitepelt! Bring Gro'mash food, FAST!"

He was doing nothing. His weight was insignificant but he tried so hard. No. No. NO! It was repeated over and over again in his mind, a prayer, even as he saw the body of his leader flying through the air.

 No... she was limp. Lifeless.

And then she crashed into the boulder and if he wasn't sure before, he was then that she was dead.

He felt numb and then more pain as he was kicked in the face. He yelped and flew head over tail onto the earth. When he rose (much more slowly and shakier than before), his mouth and nose were bloody and he was missing one of his eye teeth.

 But he didn't care.

His eyes were on Valeska's motionless form. His eyes were wide. He'd failed.

 Failed.

 F A I L E D.

"You feed Gro'mash! Or Gro'mash feed on whitepelt! Bring Gro'mash food, FAST!"

His eyes snapped over to the beast. He'd killed Valeska. Now he was making demands. His eyes were narrowed and he ground his fangs together in pure frustration and rage.

His next words were barked in a thunderous tone. Go. To. HELL!" He'd be happy to send the boar there.

He'd failed. He was worthless. His one mission in life... and he'd blown it. Well, he had a new mission.

Kill this fucking pig. He didn't care how futile an effort it was alone, he would see it done if it was the last thing he'd do.

 Or he'd die trying.

Nothing more need be said as he launched himself at the boar's face with fangs baeed, he wanted to grab and rip and tear. He wanted a chunk out of the beast.

 He'd eat him alive.

Sharpfang not listen, think they can fight Gro'mash. Gro'mash will squish tiny sharpfang.

Gro'mash appeared to be actually surprised as the wolf relaunched his attack after being hit so hard. That surprise seemed to buy the lupine some time, his fangs getting ahold of the side of the pigs neck as the swine god turned to leave.

Squealing and bucking his head he thrust using his tusks. In the same motion the putrid swine began a charge. Trying to smash the poor wolf against a nearby tree, or trample him underfoot.

Taunting mid attack, "Gro'mash make you watch when eat whitepelt later. Gro'mash kill you slow. Gro'mash peel your skin. Sharpfang always taste better when scared." Even in the midst of the fight and bleeding so much, the pigs eyes where oddly calm, sadistic and taunting.

He latched on, ripping and tearing. Intent to swallow this man whole... but even with all of his righteous anger, it wouldn't make a difference. The boar was impossibly large and no matter how hard he fought, he could not win alone. The pig bucked, those tusks went through him. Well, one did, and partially impaled his gut. Fortunately, he had a cushion of extra fat. Unfortunately, it was still a tusk inside of him... and the pig was charging.

Agony ripped through him, as even adrenaline could not mask that stabbing and ripping pain. He was smashed against a tree with the words echoing in his ears. His vision tunneled around the edges as he was given a brief moment of reprieve. He fell against the earth. The world around him swam as he bled freely and as he'd had his head smacked against the tree and the boar. He fought to not go under. He couldn't keep failing... he had to win... he had... to...

He rose again, stumbling, swaying. "Not scared..." He bared his bloodied teeth. None of his coat was brown anymore... it was red, his wounded stomach with a bleeding and torn hole looked terrible. His remaining ear was folded forward as he tried to focus on the three pigs that he saw, he'd stare down the gates of hell if he had to. If it meant protecting his friends. "I'll... kill... you... aaalll..." And then, he lurched to the side and fell. Unable to keep standing as he succumbed to his wounds and blacked out.

Peaches was hiding. As the fight drew on, she obviously so ; ducked right into the bushes and watched her papa be victorious. Only once that fat brown wolf went down, did she come through and oink with a confidence. Her little fat stublets crawling on his hide as if a grand mountain.

She felt majestic.

"Lets go papa he too fat to bring back."
